QOTD

Do you pack enough clothes for your entire trip (one outfit for each day)
or do you plan to do laundry while at your resort/hotel?

I know my questions are getting really dry, sun block, packing...I just need the advice as to what others are doing..LOL.

We pack enough for the whole trip. Last time that meant packing for cold and hot since the November days were cold in the morning and at night but warm during the day.

We pack enough clothes for the whole trip, and then some. We're normally there around 6 night so I don't want to spend my time doing laundry! Plus we normally drive so we don't have to pay for bags. Either way, I just can't justify doing laundry on vacation...what kind of vacation is that?????

I am a bit late to the game, but we are going the first week of August!!

7/31-8/2 offsite (Sea World)
8/2-8/8 - CR

I will post more details later to be added to all the great lists at the beginning of this thread. :-) But in the meantime, hello fellow August WDW DISers!

We have a washer and dryer right in our villa, so we will be able to do laundry as needed.....we find it soooooo easy to just toss in a load at night when we're back in from dinner and our evening activities, then toss it in the dryer while we enjoy an evening swim.

We will probably do a load or two mid-week, then another the night before we come home (nothing beats returning to reality with all clean clothes :thumbsup2). We also purchase lots of new stuff while on vacation, so we will wear those new items as well, meaning we can pack less for the journey.

Hahaha. Too funny! How old is your Josh? Mine is 6. DD will be 2 in less than a month.

My Josh is 17 already. But I found these boards when he was MUCH MUCH younger!! He has a love of all things Disney. When I ask where he wants to go for vacation, his answer is always Disney. He makes his mom proud!!

We pack an outfit per person/per day. Since our last several trips have been in August, it's all t-shirts and shorts, so they don't take up much suitcase room. We did do a bit of laundry last year, but only because we stayed DVC and had a washer/dryer in the room - that's a real bonus :thumbsup2

we pack for the whole trip and will pack a few extras for this trip due to the heat. we will take afternoon breaks to swim and will freshen up for dinner.
yeah for southwest having free checked bags as I am an over packer! We usually have 1 checked suitcase per person with all the extras we take :)

We usually end up with 2 outfits per person per day since it's August and HOT and HUMID! :-) but we do laundry usually once during the trip.

Can someone explain PTR and BB to me.

PTR is a pre-trip report. Sometimes people like to do up reports as they are in the planning process for their vacation.....helps pass the time until departure day arrives.

BB is a short form for bounce back. Its an offer by Disney for your NEXT vacation that must be booked before your leave from your CURRENT vacation. There's usually a flyer in the room that gives the details on the bounce back offer (if not, you can call and inquire from your phone in your room). Sometimes, its free dining or a deeply discounted room rate.

I have done both, and have also unexpectedly done laundry (one quick five day trip turned into a clothing problem when an unexpected cold snap hit Orlando and the only warm clothes we had were the ones we had flown in!).

Doing laundry at Disney is not a big deal. I usually do a load half way through a trip when we are at the pool one day (most of the resort laundry rooms are by the pools). The big problem with August is that you will get so sweaty and gross feeling from the heat that you really need a minimum of two shirts per day. We are five people going on a 10 day trip, so that's a lot of clothing to pack! I would love to not bother with it, but I'm just not sure how I can get away with it this trip, so most likely I will pack for five days and do laundry half way in.

Thanks for the info. I had never hear of the BB before. Are they really good offers? I guess they are since most of you guys have gotten them.

I don't mind doing laundry. It's usually so little that has to be washed that I can put all of it one load. Are they machines free or coin?

Ok, another question. What are the lime green mickey heads? I have an idea but I just want to make sure.

In the KW region of Ontario over here.... finally JUST got power after... oh... about 16 hours :(

I'm very very done with this Canadian weather... take me to disney already! :goodvibes

I believe the mchs in most resorts are quarters, but some are using your KTTW card.

LGMHs are so we can easily identify each other in the World.
