Ok, here's my crazy thought from yesterday...actually, I am going to turn this into a QOTD
If a Bounce Back is offered during your trip this summer, will you take advantage?

My Dh and I have talked about coming back to WDW next year even when we haven't even gone on our trip this year, lol. When I heard about the BB I immediately told him and he loved the idea. I'm pretty sure we'll come back the first two weeks in August. Can't wait to see what they will offer us.

Ok, yep, we're going to cancel it. Party of 5 for 'Ohana at 5:20 on Friday, August 16th. If you are interested, let me know & we can coordinate time for me to cancel and you to call in for it. ! I'll wait a few days to hear. Hope this works out for you or another of my fellow August travelers! :goodvibes

That is so kind of you to let me know. Unfortunately, we don't arrive until the 17th. Darn. Hope someone else can use it.:thumbsup2

I can pretty much assume we'll be back. For the last 4 years only 2 or 3 weeks in the year work for all of us. So I have been able to pretty much guarantee that we'll go the last week of August and another week in the winter (depending on where winter break falls.).
Dh will be done this program he's been in for 3.5 years next December. It's too hard to take dd and ds out during a regular school week, and I don't do holiday crowds. So depending on how this December goes (we're going from the 14th to 23rd) that may become our new week. We'll still have the option for summer time but may use that week to do other types of trips. It's all going to depend on how much vacation time Dh gets when hired.

I will definitely book another BB offer....even if it's not free dining. But I am hoping for another free dining BB! :goodvibes

I wouldn't, because I hope to be doing the International College Program next summer. Fingers crossed!

I hate to say this, but I think we're passing on Disney next year:( I am already sad thinking about it. Half of the fun of the trip is the anticipation, so I won't have that to look forward to next summer. THis trip is our 3rd in a calendar year since we bought PAP's last year. We have DVC but I'd love to save some points to go to Aulani or DL. Now to decide where to go on vacation next year since it will be hard for me to not compare it to Disney.

I never really did answer the question did I ?:lmao:
I don't know. We'll be free to go any week we want next year because Dh will be done with school. But, part of the reason we go the last week of August is because the crowds are lower than the rest of the summer and the kids are out of school. So it would make sense to stick to that week. Not sure. I never book the bounceback and always end up with some kind of discount anyway. I doubt we will because I really would prefer a cooler time of year.

DH said no Disney next year. We're thinking a cabin in Colorado instead... :-). Definitely less planning to the trip!

Dh said we will book the BB if there is one when we go as we can always cancel later. I'm almost 100% sure we won't be going next year as since we bought our new home last year we've got the costs of landscaping, fence, deck and garage to build... It will likely be 3-4 years for our next trip. So i plan to really soak in our 17 day trip this year!

We don't get bb because we're staying in a DVC villa on points. But, we do go back. We now plan our trips in 2 year increments. Last year we went in September so we bought annual passes and TiW card for discounts on TS meals. We laid all the money out that trip. So that this trip, fitting in before the AP expires or the tiW expires, is basically costing us air and food.

Including our upcoming Aug trip, we'll have gotten 17 hopper days our of our passes (well paid for) and the full discount on our TiW (which we paid for within our first 4 days of last years trip.)

Next year would be the expensive (buying ) year and the one after would be the cheaper one. If we don't have enough put away to make it that way, then we'll have to skip a year next year. As much as my heart breaks to say it.

I have to see what the budget tells me at the end of the year. I'm hoping to like August, because I think it'll be a good time for everyone in my family.

ETA: I'm so excited about my upcoming trip I could throw up. Just figured I would add that in

Anyone know the answer to this question?

We're leaving MCO at 210pm on sept 1 what time would ME be picking us up at the resort?

I have O'hana booked for 930 am just want to make sure we're not rushed... Don't wanna give it up its a favorite last day tradition for us.

I'm thinking you may not have time. ME usually picks you up 4 hours before your flight when you're flying internationally, and I see you're from Canada so that may be the case for you, in which case you'd be picked up around 10. For domestic flights it's usually 3 hours, so around 11, which still cuts it really close.

Yes we are from Canada but are flying connecting through Chicago so i think that makes us domestic right? Sadly i know its true we can't make the time work in our favor :-(

I'll have to stalk the cancellation thread for an earlier time or consider a different idea for breakfast.... anyone know what time beaches and cream at the boardwalk opens??? Ice cream for breakfast is allowed on vacation right??! Lol

As of right now, there is availability for a party of 4 at Ohana on September 1st for 7:30 am. That should work for you guys :thumbsup2 . I can understand why you wouldn't want to miss that breakfast.....its a favourite of ours as well!

We are definitely booking a bounceback! We are sailing the Disney Magic for the first time in May 2014, so I am hoping for a room-only discount that is valid for dates prior to our sailing. I keep stalking different boards to see what the current bouncebacks are in the rooms. Right now, they are still only offering bouncebacks through 2013. Ugh!

Regarding Christine's bounceback question (I'm a little behind here....holy busy week! :crazy2:).......

We are converted offsiters, so no bounceback for us.

As far as booking another August getaway........its what we would *like* to do, but next summer is the start of new beginnings for Jake so we're not sure where we'll be at. He graduates from high school in June 2014 and will start college in September 2014, so I'm doubtful the last week of August will work for us (depending on whether he attends our local college or one at a distance, he may be moving into residence that final week of August).

After this year's vacation, we will have a decent amount of JetBlue points accumulated, so we should be able to fly free in at least one direction (if not both ways) and we really, really, REALLY want to squeeze in one last family trip before Jake's post-secondary education commences. Bu then there's his job to consider as well, in addition to our vacation time with our employers.

I am thinking we might try to squeeze in a week earlier in August. Or maybe try something entirely different, who knows? The guys would also love to go back to Wisconsin Dells again, and we haven't been since 2010, so that's a consideration too. Of course, there's always that coveted trip to California we've always been dreaming of (but I'm guessing that might be out of the budget for two parents with a college kiddo).

At any rate, we shall wait and see and go with the flow. And whether or not a hurricane hits Orlando while we're there this year and totally changes our opinion of Florida in August :rolleyes1 :rotfl: .

Awww, darn! Ok, well maybe I'll see if I can find that ADR Cancellation Thread and post it there. I'd like to cancel soon so that someone else can have it.
