And my hubby just told me our May dates are fine for his work so our dates are finally confirmed. Woo Hoo

Now, he got home at 4:30 today and told me this at 9:30 this evening. I let him have it for waiting 5 hours to tell me this important information! lol

And...I just discovered I got a $150 interest credit in my credit union account. Score! That is going right into the Disney Fund. I'm also going to work on finding other things that can help offset the cost of the trip, like selling all the stuff I've been hanging on to all year long with the intent to get it online, but haven't done it yet. If all of that sells, I think I could get another $200-300.

I'm doing a big garage sale in early spring to add to Disney Fund!

Woo hoo, thats great!

My son will be 4 in April and every single piece of clothing he has ever owned is sitting in my attic still. We are running out of room up there so I really need to go through it all and see what I can part with. I'm thinking I need to get on that and make a trip to the consignment store to see if I can earn some extra Disney funds!

We have a TON of clothes from my son too. Do you go to any particular consignment store? I've gone to Children's Orchard a few times but they are so particular about how to bring clothes in (HAVE to be on a hanger - give me a break) and they hardly take anything we have. It just hasn't been worth the hassle. I think I may try to go to a Kid to Kid store instead.

I've never sold at the consignment stores, only bought but I have heard good things about selling at Once Upon a Child. I've seen people bring in trash bags full of clothes so I doubt they require everything to be on hangers (thats crazy!). I figured it's at least worth a shot and if the offer they give me is too low I can just walk. I have a friend who groups 4-5 outfits together and sells them as a "lot" on Ebay. Just seems like too much work for me haha

I'm so glad that your dates are set in stone (now you can make that countdown ticker :lmao:). I too would be so mad if my DH didn't tell me important information like that....he has been known to do that to me once or twice in our marriage, not about Disney thankfully. Also congrats on your extra funds. DH keeps telling me I need to get back on eBay and start selling some of the kid's old toys and other things we have that are just taking up space in our storage unit. He wants to use that money for our DL trip too. I may just think about doing that because it should keep me busy until our trip :goodvibes.

Yeah I did the ebay thing when I had more time. One thing I've seen that I may try is putting together a Mystery Grab Bag. You basically type up a generic description of sizes and brands of clothes and the amount in the bag. But you don't provide pictures of too much info as there are people that like to bid blindly and see what they end up with.

I think you should tell your DH to get on ebay and sell the stuff if he wants to use the money so bad. You're too busy on DISboards to have time for that! :rotfl:

And totally unrelated - I just realized that I first joined these boards in Dec 2008 to plan our May 2009 trip. After the trip I didn't return to the board. But I came back on board in Dec 2012 to plan our May 2013 trip. And totally not planned that way, but what a weird coincedence!

I'm also thinking of planning a mother/daughter trip with my daughter around her 14th. DH won't like that but, oh well. ;)

Add us in too :-) we will be at DLR between May 20-27. DH has booked the Islander, but I'm working on changing that if I can find a better deal/room elsewhere. We will have 10 day hopper tix, so will probably be in the parks every day.

Our youngest DD will turn 7 on May 26 and she had huge plans to spend the day riding Star Tours. I just saw it listed on the refurbs for the entire month. fingers are crossed that it will reopen early.

HOJO May 5-8th, celebrating 30 year anniversary and daughter 20th birthday. Watched mousewait last year and it was really slow and everything was open the first couple of weeks of May so can't wait to see Carsland.

Not sure how the availability on the suites is for May, but the Howard Johnson is running daily specials on their facebook page. You can book a room now and then add the discount later when you find one you like. I'm stalking their page to get a better discount than the 25% I've already applied. :hyper: www.facebook.com/hojoanaheim

We'll be at the HoJo at the same time!! :)

I've been stalking the HOJO deals too, I only have 15% off and would love a better code!!!

I have heard others say that sometimes they email out 40% off codes, so I'm sort of hoping that will pop up during their Facebook promotion.

<Putting on my thread admin head>

Now that we have a good size group going, you'll notice I added a poll to the top of the thread. (Look up).

For those that are new, here's the deal. Some groups make a Mickey Head and take it to the parks with them to signify they belong to a specific group. Mainly so if someone else from your group sees it they'll know you're special! ;)

A lot of groups use the lime green Mickey Head as that is the symbol for DISboards which means a wider range of park goers would recognize it. Some groups use a more personalized Mickey Head so it's specific to their own tight knit little group.

What you do with it is up to you. YOu can put it on your hotel room door so if others from the group are staying there at the same time they can see it. Others attach it to a backpack or bag they are carrying around the park.

So the question that is posed to the group - do you want to do this? Enter your answer in the poll above and we'll see what comes out of it. I won't make it unanimous or majority rule, just if more than a handful of people want to do it, then we will!

What an awesome idea. I voted for us to have our own design. Maybe have a design for the May group going and a design for the June group going. We already have Lime Green Mickey heads that we put on our backpacks, however I would love to put a June Mickey head next to it to show my pride for the thread :cool1:

BTW ColoradoLime, I was wondering why your name is not on the Role Call for May, I am guessing it is because you didn't have your dates set in stone until today. I mean come on....you are the leader of this thread, I would think you would want a place on the Role Call!!!! :goodvibes

We stayed at Hojo's on our last visit - kids suite for $99 a night . If only I could get that price again...

I am price shopping all of our accommodation today in the hopes of finding a better deal.

Same here,! We bit the bullet and booked the kids room at the higher rate, hoping a good discount comes along before we check in. We just loved the room so much we couldn't pass it up....praying for $99 again though :goodvibes
