“IT’S OUR MOTHER DAUGHTER TRIP!” Our Spontaneous Getaway - April 2011 COMPLETE 9/13

I still haven't done the new meet and greet! I'll definitely have to get there in August!

Haha you're gonna love it there

I decided that there's nothing more magical than the look on a child's face when they meet their favorite character. It is usually in the deerish range.

That is why i want to be a princess. and a disney mother.

SPLASH MOUNTAIN. <333333333 TWO WEEKS UNTIL I HIT THE BRIAR PATCH AGAIN!

eeee so soon! :)

Ugh. PDA. When I was in line at ToT a few days ago (I love being able to say that. ) there was some major lip lock goin on in front of me. It was really annoying.

Classy at its finest.

My reaction was a somewhat coniption. I LOVED it. I think I'm gonna eat it soon. I don't want it to get gross haha. But I am SO saving the box.

Haha save it forever!

Ooooooooooh technical equipment in the bushes!

HI MOTHER!

She says hi.

Aww. "Thanks for noticin' me." <3

My brother fell asleep during the Hall of Presidents. I must say I dozed off a little myself...

It's a napping place.

Oh. I thought that was Pooh. Not Mickey. Oh well.

It is pooh! The topiary?

You took off the best things from that sandwich. Shame, shame.

No no it was perfect :)

HAHAHA. Frump.

Aww It's a Small World. I love little touches of magic.

HAHHAHAH. Prom. Funnyy. I'm glad he asked you though.

That is a very fabulous picture of a lovely fountain.

HAHAHA "Maybe just a smackeral." That should be our new line.

We could get lots of use out of that one.

DON'T. FEED. THE. BEAR. :rotfl:

Aww my favorite little arch. Yay for reminders of our lovely frumpy times. I miss ya princess!

I miss you too! I loved those times.. <3 DISNEYY.

I love all of your pictures!!! I haven't had the joy of experiencing The Flower and Garden festival...maybe one day! I think my favorite was Pooh...he is just so cute holding the balloon!

Thank you! Aww one day I hope you get to go! The Pooh display was fantastic - probably one of my favorite parts of the whole thing!

It's always great when you colour coordinate!

It looks like there were a lot more flower displays in April than when I was there in May. I guess they would have to remove them as the flowers die.

Haha it's the best!
And aww really? Yeah, it closes midmay so that would make sense. I never realized that before.

Wow Epcot looks gorgeous at that time of day with all the toparies, your pictures are great!

That arch is so pretty and it's neat that you'll be always able to connect it to your fave trip:goodvibes

Thank you! And aww yes, I connect o many things in Disney to so many memories! :goodvibes

Love all the photos from this update! Especially that one you took of the reflections on the water during sunset, they're so beautiful! That's my favorite part of the F&GF actually, I just love that stretch of flowers right by the water:cloud9:

I've always wanted one of those spinning wind things too, I could just stare at that stand all day watching them spin:laughing:

Thank you! That's my Mom's favorite part too!

:banana::banana:thank you! i am in

Hooray! :yay:

The pictures of the flowers reflecting in the water are absolutly beautiful:goodvibes

I love the Lightning McQueen....well ummmm I dont know what exactly to call that:laughing:

Thanks! And haha umm... I'd call it a topiary or display. haha I loved that one, too!

"It features Disney-Water-Smell..." Best line ever!

Made my morning, because I COMPLETELY agree with you!

:lmao: Thank you! I LOVE that smell!

I just found your TR and I am enjoying it so much! You are doing a fantastic job. Thanks so much for sharing!

Oh yay I'm glad you're here! Thank you so much for reading!

Kristen beat me this time! GRRRRRR... Well I was focused on Pottermore last night... Oh yeah, Kristen, I got one of the limited early accounts :teeth: I'm just so excited :hyper:

Aww that's okay haha. Harry Potter is important.

Oh, the Fountain of Nations are just gorgeous. I totally agree, I could just watch that thing all day. The sad thing is I can never really hear the music, because there are so many people walking around the area, but I've listened to it by itself and it sounds SOOO cool! (: I'm also quite interested in this Disney water smell you are speaking of Hahahahaha

I love that fountain!! It is beautiful music, isn't it? And I love that smell - my fave!

I love those Winnie the Pooh topiaries! They seemed to do a lot more with the extra detailing adding those quotes along the fence and the balloons. :thumbsup2 to the Tigger pose! (: And I love the photos at sunset of the reflections on the water so pretty. :goodvibes

I do too! They're really cute! And thanks!

Oh those little spinning wind thingeys are so mesmerizing! I could just entertain myself with those things, always trying to figure out how they make them out. Yeah, that's what I think when I'm staring at the most stupid thing ever LOL

Haha I know... I understand. I probably do that too

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Ahaha! Yesterday I charged both my camera's batteries so they're all ready to go! I'm so sorry I didn't get to go outside & play around with it, believe me, I was curious to see how they'd turn out too. But two nights ago there was a really bad thunderstorm and yesterday, well the Bachelorette. Of course I'll be playing around with it at Disney though.

I'm sooooo soooo excited! I have a Disney Vacation Connection app on my laptop and here's what it says right now...

160659z.jpg

Don't mind the name! It's a joke with my mom. You know the Waste It thing at Innoventions? For our team name, I put "Team Amazing Peeps" and the lady who brings over the trash can said it all awkwardly and we just died. But anyways, it's so nice seeing 0 days!

By the way, your pictures are so fantastic! The Fountain of Nations one is incredible. Your mom must have been in Heaven at the Flower & Garden festival!

I'm sure you'll have tips once you come back from Disney.... YOU ARE THERE RIGHT NOW AHHHH!!! If you have any to share when you get back, I would love to hear them!
And LOL don't worry... it's just like Frump. I love inside jokes like that!

Just got to this TR. Lovely so far
You and your mum look like you had a lot of fun.
Love the red Epcot dress

Thank you so much! We did! And thanks I love that dress too!

Those pics by the fountain look so beautiful with the sunset! My fiance could watch that fountain for hours.

Where did you get your dress?! It is so cute! I'm getting dresses like that for our honeymoon.

Thanks! I love the fountain too!
And I got it at Forever 21!

I love all the pics especially the fountain and sunset ones! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to spend some time at Epcot during our trip!

Having recently seen Cars 2 (it wasn't released until later here) I also enjoyed it and thought Mater was great!

Thank you! Epcot is wonderful!
And haha wasn't Mater great? I liked that movie?

The fountain and sunset pictures are gorgeous.

I love your dress! It compliments the flowers behind you perfectly.

Thank you! And thanks haha. I like when I match

We totally have one of those Mickey suncatcher things! Bought it the last time that we went to the F&G festival.

All of the pictures are so pretty! I love going during F&G. It's just so nice to take your time and take in all of the sights.

Aww I want one! They're so cool!
And thank you! Yeah, we planned the trip just so we could really get the full F&G experience and explore it. It was a great trip!

you do match! that's adorable. I LOVE the fountain. I have a video of it just doing it's thing. :lovestruc That Disney water smell.....it's just so DISNEY. I've always wanted to visit the Flower and Garden festival...even more, I'm surprised my mom hasn't made a trip. Gardening is totally her hobby!

I can't wait until you go to Disney again and come back, I LOVE reading your trip reports.

It's refreshing to hear about Disney from someone who is my age :)

This is going to be so weird/random but here it goes.

I was re-reading your Bathrobe Princess TR tonight cause it's one of my all time favorite TRs (a good TR is like a good book, you can never read it too many times:lmao:) and that pull over that you wear a lot. The gray one with Mickey and the 4 parks. When did you get that one? I love that one too! You have such great disney sweatshirts! I want to raid your closet! :rotfl:

Joining in :goodvibes great report!!! The flower and garden pictures

Haha aww thank you so much! don't worry :) A new trip report will be up before ya know it!
And I know - I love finding teen trip reports. They're relatable and very entertaining!

Haha don't worry that's not weird! I'm so glad you reread the TR :) And hmm... do you mean the blue tie dye one? Or Kristen's gray one? Because both of those have Mickey and the 4 parks on it.
I know I got the tie dye one... back in like 2009. I got it at mouse gear. And Kristen got hers last summer... probably at one of the big stores. The Emporium, Mouse Gear, or World of Disney usually have sweatshirts like that. Those are the places where I usually get all of mine :goodvibes Thank you so much haha. I have created quite a collection over the years.

I love your trip report so far. You and your mom seem like a lot of fun. Can't wait to hear more.

I actually got that grey one at the Mickey's of Hollywood store in DHS. They have loads of clothes in there but no one ever thinks of it as like a big place like Mouse Gear or the Emporium, but I love it and always recommend it. :thumbsup2

I was up so early just to get mine and it took twenty minutes to finally get registered. I also had to wait to get the validation email, very painful right there. But, as you said on your TR, you have it now, so now we all be happy! :D

Chapter 9 - Les Chefs de France
April 8th, 2011

We continued to take a few more pictures of the Flower and Garden Topiaries while we made our way into the World Showcase. We were going to really thoroughly explore it tomorrow... but I had to stop and take a few princess topiary pictures because they're REALLY cute!

dsc0832iu.jpg

dsc0833y.jpg

We headed over to our 8:00 pm dinner reservation about 15 minutes early. We were going to be dining at Les Chefs de France that night!

dsc0835g.jpg

As you may remember, if you were following with my February trip report, we had a Les Chefs de France ADR scheduled for our last night. However, at the last minute we changed it to Nine Dragons because the France ADR was too early!

So, it was a priority to get there on this trip! It was specially recommended by Kristen's Mom.

dsc0834d.jpg

Although we checked in at 7:45 pm, we were seated pretty quickly!

Our server was named... Litido...? Or something like that. He was Italian. I thought "Les Chefs de France" was in France? :confused3 But I guess we had some cultural diversity goin' on there.

He told us he was 71 years old! That's pretty awesome that he was still working at Disney! Yay!

We ordered our food!

dsc0836d.jpg

First off we had our bread. Bread is almost always good in my book.

dsc0838ke.jpg

I got the Lobster Bisque for my appetizer, which was AMAZING! Seriously, it was so good. I don't usually get soup or appetizers, but this was one I made a point to try. My friend Alicia told me it was great! I'm so glad I had it... YUM!

dsc0839c.jpg

I got the Salmon for my entree, and that was fantastic!

dsc0840bq.jpg

Mother got Mac and Cheese for her entree. I really liked the flavor of it! I tasted some nutmeg in there, perhaps? It was definitely not like normal mac and cheese, but it was very satisfying. And very yummy. And VERY filling. Wow. But so good!

dsc0841y.jpg

I had the Crepe for dessert, which was okay. Honestly, I sort of wish I didn't order it. It really didn't taste that good and it was sort of plain. I should have went with those puffy chocolate things.

dsc0845o.jpg

And Mother got Creme Brulee, which she enjoyed.

dsc0844f.jpg

Mother told our server that my birthday was exactly one month from that day, so the waiters/waitresses came out and sang happy birthday to me!

Our server was so cute! He gave me two kisses on the cheeks... how italian. My Mom said he reminded her of her grandfather. How precious.

Oh and I also have to make a point... there were some good looking waiters at Chefs de France. :) HELLO. I mean... BONJOUR!

After our dessert, it took our waiter like 20-25 minutes to bring us our check! UGH! It was kind of annoying because I really wanted to go see IllumiNations. But we missed it. Oh well.

He finally came by and we finally left. It was a really good meal besides that wait at the end.

Overview of Les Chefs de France Dining Experience
Food: Really really good! I want to eat there again! Phenomenal! The only thing I really didn't enjoy was the crepe. 4.5/5
Waiter: Litido I think his name was? Very nice 71 year old man from Italy. He sang us a little Italian song even though we were in France.. LOL. He was VERY slow at getting us our check. But other than that, throughout the meal he was good! 4/5
Overall Experience: Wonderful meal! We really enjoyed it and the food was fantastic! Yum! 4.5/5

Once we left France, we went to the bathroom and then went to Mouse Gear. I had this realization tonight, while I was wearing my red dress, that dresses are just SO much more comfortable to wear when you're touring the parks! I mean... it's just one piece of clothing and it's not tight and it's just much more comfortable.

My mission in Mouse Gear was to find a cute dress to wear for the next day!

I tried on some clothes and I decided on getting a black, white, and light blue dress with hidden mickeys on it!

dsc0105my.jpg

dsc0107rdo.jpg

I also got the same Mickey Key Chain that I got in February because my original one broke about a week before the trip. But that's okay... the new one is still in tact! Hooray!

We left Mouse Gear and headed over to Nemo.

The Cast Member working the ride looked like this Korean foreign exchange student that I used to do the musicals with named Johnny Kim. When I was walking on the ride, he went to me "Hello Gorgeous, have a great time."

Mother said "Johnny Kim should not be flirting with the customers." :rotfl:

After Nemo, we went to the Land and rode Living with the Land. I had to show Mother my discovery of how different the ride was when you rode it at night.

dsc0846x.jpg

And this pictures is for Kristen.... HAHAHAHA funny. Yes, there is such thing as a JACKfruit.

dsc0847pv.jpg

dsc0848w.jpg

Hidden Mickey!! I always find the same ones... LOL :lmao: I really need to devote a trip to finding Hidden Mickeys.

dsc0849g.jpg

Straw-burries. (That's said in the accent from the youtube video "Muffins." hahaha  I give you props if you remember that one.)

dsc0850o.jpg

Then we left Epcot and headed back to Kidani. I was SO full (3 table services in one day is a LOT of food.) and I was very tired. So we went right to sleep!
