“IF THIS IS A DREAM, I DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP!” – POP! Goes The Solo Trip **THE END**

"I’M GONNA RIDE THAT PUPPY... AND I’M GONNA GET WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!"
Day 5 – May 1, 2013 Part 1

Normally when planning a trip, I generally know my plans for each day well before I even leave home.
At the very least, I know what park I’m going to even if I don’t have the entire day planned out.

Being solo, I had no such plan. I was basically just winging it and it was kind of refreshing.

Scratch that… It was EXTREMELY refreshing.

I had just come off one of the most emotional nights I’ve ever had in a Disney park, or anywhere else for that matter.

I also realized that, not including the tour day, I hadn’t started my day at Magic Kingdom yet.

That needed to be fixed, so, I was heading back to Magic Kingdom.

I also figured it might be a good opportunity to pick up the scraps of my previously melted heart from the night before that most certainly should have solidified by now.
Though that seemed really unlikely as the Magic Kingdom custodial services are just usually way too efficient.

I arrived at the parking lot and decided to use one these today.

These trams really have a nostalgic feel for me since I can vividly remember them from when I was kid.
This was the first “ride” of every trip and the spot the day REALLY started.

The Monorail ride over was awesome, as it always is, but a little extra special as I got to ride in The Iron Man-orail.

03.jpg

So cool.

Things like Monorail wraps shouldn’t matter… but they do.

The Kingdom was already open when I arrived, so unfortunately, no Good Morning Show for me.

Undaunted, I stood out in front and sang the “Good Morning” song to myself, sadly without fireworks and streamers at the end.

But, I did arrive just in time for some Limited Time Magic in the form of the Spring Trolley Show.

I know some of the Limited Time Magic events (or Limited Time Cupcakes as it’s become known) have been a bit lacking, but this was a really cute little show.

Most really don’t have that “must see” urgency, but when you do come across them, they just make you smile…

And isn’t that really the point?

I mean, most people’s itineraries for the day don’t usually include, “Ride Space Mountain and then race over to watch the Dapper Dans!”

But try and tell me you don’t get a smile on your face when you see them.

These are things that make Disney better than everybody else.

Fitting in with the “Spring” theme, today was all about taking the time to smell the flowers… literally.

Since it was now May, I was hoping that these were the "May flowers", and that the "April showers" were but a memory.

12.jpg

13.jpg

Unlike my apparent handicap at World Showcase, I am actually able to go left upon entering Magic Kingdom.

I have absolutely no idea why that is, but hopefully though therapy and prayer, I will someday “go left” into World Showcase as well.

14.jpg

I really like Liberty Square as it is unique to Magic Kingdom and so authentic as evidenced by the lack of washrooms, other than the Liberty Tree Tavern of course.

So, I was thankfully in no immediate danger of repeating my Ladies Room faux pas.

You can't be too careful.

It was virtually barren on this side of the park as I passed along into Frontierland.

Day 5 – May 1, 2013 Part 1 Cont.

Upon entering into Frontierland, there was a very short line for Chip and Dale, so I promptly jumped in.

I swear the only thing cuter than Chip and Dale is Chip and Dale in cowboy hats.

Clearly they were so very happy to see me as evidenced by their now stop smiles.

I continued on towards Big Thunder and found a very short wait when I arrived.

So, of course, I rode.

Incidentally, I decided to Layaway the “Plot with a View”.

I figure it’s not much more than the standard, and who doesn’t want a view since we’re talking eternity here?
This is NOT the time to go cheap.

I opted out of the Alarm though.
I don’t buy extended warranties so I figured this was pretty much the same thing… nothing but a cash grab.

Pretty soon I was waiting to board.

I’m not sure the guy in the red shirt quite understands that you generally raise your arms when the train is, you know, actually moving…

30.jpg

I suppose it’s possible that he was just getting a head start for the inevitable train robbery that was certain to occur… at least in his head.

Potential Train Robbers take note... This is clearly someone who will surrender very quickly.

I still like Big Thunder even though it really doesn’t “thrill" me.

At night though, it is an ENTIRELY different story.

TO BE CONTINUED…

Checking in from Main Street...waiting for the parade and Wishes, so what better way to spend some time than by reading the new updates?

Got the best visual of you singing and dancing to the Welcome Show by your lonesome in front of MK. Too funny!!!

Chip and Dale are so precious in their cowboy gear!

And I just got off Big Thunder! It was pretty great, although it's my least favorite of the mountains. You're spot on about the man in the red. He's just preparing for the worst!

I adore your photos of Liberty Square. I'll admit that while we were there we often 'passed through' more than anything, and didn't take in many of the details. Maybe some of this was because it was busy when we were there. I'll definitely rectify that next time and look closer.

By the way, the washrooms at Liberty Tree Tavern you mentioned - I think I read that even they are technically over some kind of boundary line, though I may well be wrong...

Found this TR yesterday, subbed, and now ALL caught up! Can't wait for more updates, I am REALLY enjoying this one! You have had me :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: the entire time!

pretty sure that technically the boarder between Liberty Square and Adventure Land runs through the building that houses the Liberty Tree Tavern and the bathrooms are on the other side - so if you go to the bathroom you have actually crossed over into Adventure Land and Liberty Square is, in fact, 100% bathroom free

I hope you really did sing Good Morning to yourself. That would be awesome. :) Also, is it wrong to adore the skirts on those trolley show ladies? You just can't go wrong with a twirly skirt.

There really are a lack of bathrooms over there. I suppose that's one reason for the tangled bathrooms but still, that's not really close. Anyway... :)

Really pretty shots of the springtime flowers!!

Aw...Chip & Dale in cowboy hats!! So cute! I love them. They're so fun. I love the tough guy pose.

Hahahahaha, that guy with his arms up before the ride starts. :rotfl: You aren't impressing anyone dude.

Love Mk, always and forever!!
I really need to see that trolley show in Sept! But I figure we have more than enough MK time that we can take it slow and really stop to smell the flowers and see small things like that.

Chip and Dale are so cute in their cowboy outfits! I have to admit, when a character's in different clothes, I have to go see them again, especially Donald, he's got so many different outfits!!

Cowboy Chip & Dale are adorable, nice pictures :goodvibes

and clearly red shirt guy did not pay attention the the no dancing sign :sad2:

O...M...G... That is just so WAY COOL!!!!!! I was so surprised reading a comment from you since I knew you were away. I just can't get over that your reading this IN WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! Like, I'm beyond words. Mind... Is... Blown.

Oh it was really good too. People were stopping thinking this was something completely official and they couldn't enter until it was over. OK.., that may or may not have happened. :rolleyes1

They really are so adorable.

Oh man this is just so surreal. Like, you're reading about something that you just finished doing. I just can't... No words!

Thanks Elaine. I can't recommend that enough to just take some time to really enjoy the details. You really never know what you might find.

And speaking of "next time", I was going to hound you on your blog's upcoming REALLY BIG NEWS, but I decided to check just in case and :yay: you're booked back to the World in 2014!!! That's really exciting. And with 14 days, no excuse in not taking that extra time to check out all those glorious details.

That may very well be correct as they might technically fall into Adventureland. That would be cool.

Great update! :)

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Princess Meg, I am so very pleased to :welcome: you. Thank you so much for being here. And Thank You for all your kind... Smilies! Haha that made my day. :goodvibes

Yup, I was thinking the exact same thing. Thanks for the confirmation. Those Disney folks are seriously geniuses.

I hope you really did sing Good Morning to yourself. That would be awesome. :) Also, is it wrong to adore the skirts on those trolley show ladies? You just can't go wrong with a twirly skirt.

Well of course I did Jennifer. ;) There's no better way to enter the Magic Kingdom.
And no, I don't believe there is anything wrong with those skirts AT ALL. Such a cute show.

Disney is just so authentic. Honestly, I'm sure no one would even think about it if there were washrooms, but the fact that there aren't is just amazing. So much real detail.

They are truly lovely too.

They were so adorable. This was clearly the trip for the muscle pose.

Oh God I found that funny. Like "I give up!!! Take my money, take my wife, take whatever you want!!!"

ME TOOOOOOOOO!! Don't you go dropping it to 2nd place!

Totally. It's so cute and it doesn't take up a lot of time. MK is just so loaded with little gems.

Oh my God YES! That's how they get ya! Oh I've seen Chip and Dale a thousand times... BUT THEY HAVE COWBOY HATS!!!! And into the line I go. :hyper: It never fails.

great update. luvin the pics

Thank you so much!! :cool1:

They really are Brennah. I don't think I've ever had a bad meet with them.

:lmao: How did I miss that joke??!!! Well done! I'm so very disappointed with myself. :headache:

Don't you just love it when you turn a corner in a Disney Park and there is NO ONE in sight? That is such a great thing.

10 minutes for Big Thunder? Sign me up!

Ok. This is the FIFTH TIME I have tried to comment on the latest update! Lmao something keeps getting in my way (and I'm expecting a phone call so just you watch and see if I don't get interrupted again!! Hahah)

Ahh the idea of just wandering wherever your fancy takes you is so appealing! Sounds just like what your Disney trip should be.
Had a good chuckle at the mental image of you singing to yourself at MK. Priceless!

I really like the little things you stumble upon like the limited time magic things. They're... Well, magical!

Chip and Dale in cowboy getup are so cute! (Fun fact: my horse Dale has an older brother named Chip, named for the 'munks of course!)

Yay for short waits for BTMRR! (I might have sprung for the alarm before the view!)

My theory on red shirt guy? He's an alien disguised as a human who read "Ride a roller coaster like a human for dummies" but really he just skimmed it so he missed the part about when to put the hands up. Yep!

(Yayyyy! I made it with no interruptions!)

Great photos of the magic kingdom! You got some especially good ones of that trolley show. You are making me laugh with your comments, too - especially about the guy that will surrender easily to the train robbers! Too funny!

And I totally agree that BTMRR is so much better at night!

OMG totally!!!! It doesn't happen that much, but when it does... Pure awesomeness.

Haha, yup. AND I was a little late arriving. And Splash was even shorter!

Bahaha. It's ok, as long it it isn't something I did. I truly admire your persistence too. :thumbsup2

It so is Wendy. It is my new recommendaton to ALL to take a day from their trip (time permitting of course) and just... wander.
Haha, it just had to be done. If they're not gonna sing Good Morning to me, I'll just do it myself. :music:

They really are. The trolley show isn't something I would normally plan out in advance, but I was just taking it slow and this really fit the bill. Magical indeed!

That's AWESOME! They are aways adorable, but in little cowboy hats... I mean... c'mon.

I couldn't believe it considering all the people I had to avoid in getting there. :lmao:

Another excellent theory. Oh God he looked ridiculous.

YAY Indeed!!! :woohoo:

Thanks so much Becky. That trolley show was seriously so adorable. So many people walk right by that finding multiple good spots to watch is really easy.

HAHA, that guy just made me laugh. He looked so... um... odd. I just had to come up with some logical reason for it.

OMG absolutely. No pun intended (well maybe a little) but it's really night and day.

I'm a big fan of the Trolley Show too! It's just so cute and happy, it's hard not to enjoy it! And I agree, it doesn't get much cuter than Chip and Dale in cowboy hats. :)

It was so adorable Marissa. Definitely a great way to enter into Magic Kingdom. OMG they were precious. I love when they take a standard character but dress in different outfits. It's a whole new experience.
