“I'M NOT AFRAID OF A ROLLERCOASTER THAT GOES BACKWARDS!”
Day 2 – April 28, 2013 Part 4
Pretty darn satisfied with my Safari, I left Africa and headed here…

I’ve always loved the statues in this area.
They’re so easy to overlook, but I just love them.

And this one even had a special guest…

I just truly love these.

Check them out while you still can before stupid Avatar takes over.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of the Avatar project.
Why not use Endor from Star Wars since Disney at least already owns it and it fits the Animal Kingdom landscape?
Who wouldn’t want to pet an Ewok??
Anyway…
Now I know I may (will) receive some flack for this, but sadly I did not go to see the Festival Of The Lion King.
Please don’t hate.
Honestly, I really love it and it is one of the very best things Disney has to offer.
It just unfortunately didn’t fit into my plans this time.
The missing wallet situation just completely threw off my day and there were some other things I needed to do.
If the start time had been nearer, I would have gone without any doubt.
I did stop for a couple character meets, however, since their lines were really short.
I have a friend in my office who wants to go to Disney World BADLY, yet has never been.
So before I left I asked her who her favourite character was which brings me to this meet…

Incidentally, she loved it.

Hand on hip… SASSY!
Then I moved over to a couple I had never met before.

Awesome! These guys were a lot of fun.
I left Camp Minnie Mickey behind, because I had something I needed to get done.
Before the lost wallet incident, my modest goal was 10 rides on Everest.
I was currently at 7, so I needed to get those final 3 in the bag since I was so close.
On my way back to Asia, I spotted a fairly short line for Pocahontas, so I figured, why not jump in?
The family behind me were really funny, particularly the guy who kept referring to Pocahontas as “Cher”, due to her long straight black hair.
I swear, I will probably never look at her the same way again.
Despite the fairly short line, it was moving SOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW

I even noticed the handler go up to her and point out the line, no doubt forcing her to not spend quite so much time with every group.
I do admire that she was giving each group a little something extra though.
While I was waiting, I noticed the line had been cut 6 or 7 groups behind me.
Shortly thereafter, a lady came along pushing a wheelchair with a young person in it.
I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but it was clear the handler at the end of the line was explaining that the line was unfortunately closed, and I could see the disappointment in both of their faces.
They clearly were not in any way angry, just disappointed.
Now, I am one of those people (obviously) that firmly believes that Disney is for everyone of ALL ages.
I tend to get a little upset when people refer to it as “only for kids” or people who have a sense of entitlement just because they have kids with them.
That said, I will still always do whatever I can to help make a child’s experience better, especially for those who don’t demand or expect it.
It wasn’t a difficult decision (I had met Poca before) to walk back and offer my spot in line to them.
They were very sweet and grateful which was more than enough thanks for me.
They wouldn’t even take the spot I was vacating, electing to stay in the back of the line.
They were just happy to be meeting Poca.
Happy with myself and my decision, I headed back to the Forbidden Mountain to finish my quest.
Eight...

Nine…

TEN!!!
I did it!!! Mission accomplished!!!!

Ah what the hell…

Why do ten when you can do eleven?
Plus, me and the girl next to me could not be more of a contrast so…
AWESOME!
I love ride photos.
