What an awesome day so far! I had no idea that Epcot now had a Starbucks!
Eeek, yet another awesome vinyl! I gotta tell you, when vinyls first came out, I really didn't understand them very much, but then when I heard of people trading them I told myself that I was not going to get sucked in. I did buy the one Donald from you a while back, but I swore I was only buying that one for Mike since he loves Donald so much...and then everythime I see one of your too cool buys or trades it makes me want to start collecting even more! You're such an enabler! hahahaha!
Oh, and when I got to the part about the HM coasters, I immediately thought about how awesome your house has to be with all this cool stuff!
It sure does, and it is GLORIOUS! Making your visits to Epcot just 10 times better!
Aww thanks! I was in the SAME boat as you about Vinyls. I thought they were dumb. Then I got totally sucked into it with some cute Vinyls, and well, things have just gone downhill from there, hahaha. I'm glad you liked the Donald one I sent you though! I'm a total enabler, I'll admit it. I think I might take a little video of my collection for my Vinylmation trading day's update, haha.
Haha thanks! We have a TON of Disney stuff in our house now, but HM has really taken over lately! Someone wanted to see a video of all our Haunted Mansion stuff, so I'm thinking about making one for this TR so people can see what we have in our house! Kind of makes the TR a little more fun an interactive.
Hey Dani:
Thanks for the update. you are quite fast with them, which really helps my need for instant gratification, according to my DW (glaserjm on here, she is the one who told me I needed to read your TR's) I am the worst at needing the instant gratification.
I have to agree with on the people mover, it has been quite the lifesaver for us in the past. It is just fun in and of itself, but the break it gives your legs and sun stroked head is ginormous. (really spell check has no problem with ginormous?)
Though I do not get why the world revolves around Starbucks I do think you could brew Starbucks with my used sock as a filter and it would be better than Nescafe. We usually pack our own coffee and brew in the room.
We are like you guys now in that we do not do the dinning plan. We still eat plenty of Disney food, especially at F&W, but taking care of your own breakfast and lunch is on our agenda usually, and that ends up saving us tons of money. However that said towards the end of the stay this practice tends to break down.
I am a big fan of the traditions that must be kept up, though I fear in a few years that traditions may start making up the whole trip....guess we'll have to just start making two week trips.
Your love of Epcot is also shared by us, especially shopping at mouse gears, I really like getting things from there especially the Epcot themed items. not sure why that is, I've just always seem to lay down the biggest chunk of change in that store
Haha no problem! I'm trying to push out updates every 4-5 days... so I should have another one here in the next few days, yay! But yeah, I'm glad to help feed that need for some reading, haha.
The PeopleMover is fantastic... one of my favorite places to go and get off my feet for a bit for sure. Maybe next trip I will just ride it 4 times in a row because I can.
In Disney, Starbucks is God because the quality of their coffee was terrible. There are MUCH better places in Seattle to get coffee, but Starbucks is ten times better than that Nescafe, haha.
We usually do the Dining Plan, so this was our first time not doing it... it was definitely way different than what we've done in the past! We usually do breakfast in the room or something small, but for us, not so much about the money saved, but more about getting to eat wherever and whatever we wanted was awesome.
Traditions are definitely a wonderful part of the trip. I think two trips can't be a bad thing!!
Yeah, I'm a big fan of the stuff in MouseGear, especially the Epcot stuff! It's such a fabulous store.
We've gone the past two years now basically the week before food and wine. It worked for pricing purposes and then for both of us at work since we work in finance/accounting. Your crowd photos seriously have us convinced. Though not sure if we'll go again in 2014. Too many other places for the budget to go! That, and my work calendar that was set in stone was completely jacked by a huge corporate merger this time!
All I could think of with Matt's Oswald outfit was the scene in Wayne's World where it's their whole sponsored/product placement section. You may be slightly too young to get that reference, but it's so much fun.
Oh interesting! I work in account management and have to worry about end of month billing, which is why you will never see me in Disney unless it's the middle of the month! Beginning and end of the month are the busiest time for me (and Matt actually). But yeah, the week we went was fantastic.
Hahaha, neither of us are too young for Wayne's World. In fact, it was one of my favorite movies growing up. I know exactly what part you are talking about... I'm picturing Wayne holding up his can of Pepsi, hahaha. That movie is awesome.
Hehe, in addition to random candid photos, now including random feet pictures!! Love it!!
WOW look at all those people in Tomorrowland from the Peoplemover.
OMG, I LOVE Space Mountain, but the first time I saw it with the lights on... It looks some kind of Medieval torture chamber!
AHHHHH, you actually got to see the geyser??!! I was sure it was just some sort of sick joke to see how long people would stand there waiting, lol.
Still loving that HM tattoo.
I don't know, I'm just not feeling the new bus look. To me it almost looks too "corporate" or something.
Hahaha yup! You always have to get the feet shot on the PeopleMover!
SO MANY PEOPLE! It was so busy in the park that day, UGH.
Yeah, I'm with you, and this isn't the only time we see the lights on... dundundun.
YES WE DID! I heard it going off and ran to go see it before it stopped! I believe it's every hour it goes off.
The new buses are definitely weird... I think that was the only time we got a new bus though. It was weird.
I think my husband has a bro crush on your husband now. My DH has been thinking about getting a Space Mountain tattoo for awhile (it was the first ride we rode together), I think seeing Matt's tattoo sealed the deal. It looks fantastic!
Aww, Mickey and Minnie are always so thoughtful.
Hahah that is AWESOME! He should totally get the Space Mountain tattoo!! Go to a good artist and he will be happy with it! I'm thinking about getting a Disney tattoo at some point, but I can't decide on what exactly I want!
Mickey and Minnie know how to make a couple celebrating their anniversary feel special, that's for sure!
We always go in the summer, and I did Crocs in Disney for exactly one day before it got to be too painful
Space Mountain with the lights on! SO COOL.
I love your French Duffy pin!
Matt's tattoo is amazing. The colors are great and it's just so well done. I've been going back and forth on a couple Disney tattoos that I want, and his just makes me want to get one even more!
AWWWW you got a card from Mickey & Minnie!
I'm not a huge Starbucks drinks person, but their pastries look sooooo good.
I also really want those coasters but my roommates are not the huge Disney fans I am so I may be outvoted. Excellent choice on your part. You should do a "real life post" on all the HM merchandise you own!
Yeah, I don't know what was going on but my feet were SO blistered by the time we got back, ugh. It was not fun at all.
I know! I love seeing Space with the lights on. Seems like a common occurence now during our trips!
Thanks, I thought it was so cute! I was on the hunt for some adorable Duffy pins this trip!
Aww that's super nice of you! I want to get one, too, I just need to nail down what exactly I want!
Yes we did and it was adorable!! Matt and I have an obsession with Starbucks and just getting coffee in general... but the pastries at the Starbucks are really good in Disney!!
Aww booo, the coasters are AWESOME! And I think I am going to do a little tour/video of our house and all of our Haunted Mansion merchandise!! Stay tuned for that!
Dani-
Seeing all of your pictures of the Wilderness Lodge are making me miss it SO badly! Matt's tattoo is amazing - and you are adorable with or without your glasses ! I saw on Twitter that you went to the new Disney Store at the Tulalip Outlet Mall. It's only about 15 minutes from my house but I still haven't gotten there yet. Need to make that a priority! Loving your report, as usual!
Aww, we really liked Wilderness Lodge a LOT! It's a beautiful resort! And thanks so much. I just never take off my glasses, so I always feel like I look way different! And you should definitely check out that Disney Store Outlet! It doesn't have a TON of amazing deals, but it's a huge store and I did find some great stuff. It's worth the 15 minute trip for sure! Thank you again!
Wow what a beautiful morning. The sky was SO blue with all those big puffy clouds. Bummer that the rain came in later but I love the pictures from before.
Love those green crocs. Too bad you only got to wear them that one day. I live in mine while in WDW and so far I have never had any trouble with blisters.
Awesome pins!!! Especially all the HM ones.
Matt's tattoo turned out awesome, you can really see all the detail in the daylight.
I don't drink coffee (which is totally baffling to some people since I work nights) but I am thinking I might have to stop in and get a pastry cause they look delicious. My Hubby is bummed cause he loves a D&D iced coffee but he will have to make due with Starbucks.
I love your little Sebastian vinyl. Hopefully they will still be trading out from the Little Mermaid series when I get there. I don't have any of those.
Yeah, it was a gorgeous morning! I didn't mind the rain though, helped break up the humidity a bit!
Usually my Crocs are great, but not for Disney! Maybe if I wore socks, but I refused to wear socks with Crocs in the middle of September, haha. Matt had similar issues with his Crocs during our trip, too.
I love those HM pins, they're so neat! And yeah, his tattoo is amazing. The artist did a great job!
Haha, you should definitely go in there and try out some of the Disney pastries. Some of them are so good! I used to be a DD girl when I lived in Boston, but since have switched over to Starbucks!
I hope you can find some LM Vinyls, that set is so cute! I have most of them in a little case at home.
no. no. no no no. nope. space mountain lights on are an absolute no go for me. nope.
also, I just made a "Matt's LoveBug Face" at the thought "unsweetened ice tea". I am too much of a southern girl.
but SUPER stoked and SUPER jealous that y'all picked up that HM pin set!
We haven't been to MK since MNSSHP, and I'm seriously dying for a few spins with some happy haunts. [pun intended]
I agree... which is why wwaaaaayyyy later in the trip things get a little interesting for us with the whole light thing!
Hahhaah, I was not in the mood for anything sweet but wanted something other than water, so I'm a big fan of the Passion Tea!
That HM pin set rules... and you need to get yo'self to Disney World stat!
