Thank goodness for the treadmill! Without it I would have never reached my goal thanks to the snow drifts, wind and ice. Yesterday was the first morning that I ventured out…I just could not let my last miles of 2015 be inside. So off I went at dark thirty at 18 degrees and fog! But what a beautiful way to end 2015 goal!

I must say that I felt like a total Bad A when I realized by hair was frosted.

WE DID IT…thankfully Amy had been stocking piling mileage that she had forgotten to add to the total. We eeked it out at the last minute. YAY Team RunDMC…we will celebrate with Disney, Moscato and Cupcakes in November!

2016 Goal Setting

For some reason it is very hard for me to sit down and map out a goal for 2016. I have lots of ideas in my head but to put them on paper it a little tough! I signed up this morning for...

We have unofficially made a Team of Buffy, Debra, Amy H and myself (hopefully Kafi will join us and we will have 5) to get to 2016 miles...but as to my personal goals I am still sorting those out. In 2015 I focused on intentional miles (that means only workouts counted and miles walked at Disney). This year I am tinkering with the idea of tracking all mileage, because...

This little gem arrived in the mail. If you remember I completed a Virtual Half Marathon early Thanksgiving morning at the start of a very nasty ice storm. Well I posted my results and a picture (like you normally do for Virtual runs to hold yourself accountable) and because of it I won a FitBit Zip. I have been toying with idea of getting a FitBit for sometime but A. I am too cheap and B. I hate things on my wrists (HA just like I can't stand carrying things when I run in my hands). So the zip wipes out both reasons as to why NOT to get one...now I have one I am so excited to try it out and today marks the start of this journey that leads me to my goals. While I enjoyed the half marathon journey/goal in 2015 it will not be back in 2016. I no longer need bling to keep me motivated to get in long distance. The bling is fun but I am now confident at 13.1 miles. This year is a between year for me, because I already know what my 2017 run goals are and in order to reach those goals I have to work on time in 2016. So that means I need to actually start RUNNING again. I have to get my half time under 3 hours if I am going to succeed in 2017! I know I am being vague with all this so let's just cut the the chase:

2016 Training Goals

1. Home to Disney Beach Club

It is about 1500 miles from my front door to Disney Beach Club Resort so that is going to be my goal. The only miles that count are those that I intentionally track...in other words WORK OUT! That is a 50% increase from 2015. I know I can do it because looking back at my run calendar there were lots of days that I talked myself out of workouts...and now with a treadmill I have no excuses! These are also the miles I am going to submit for our team. Of course, these workouts will include RUNNING and I am committing training again for speed. But we will get to all of that when I set a training calendar which will probably start in February.

2. 2016 miles in 2016

I am going to faithfully wear my fitbit zip in a quest to get to 2016 miles which will include my intentional miles as well as everyday walking. It equals to about 5.5 miles a day. I need to get away from my desk and computer more often at school and do more classroom visits. I am going to log these miles officially in 2016 tracker.

3. Weight

Yes I am going to be putting it out there with my weight. I have to get it under control because it is really effecting my ability to train & run. So starting Monday I am back to a Keto diet plan per recommendation of by doctor to fight struggle with my hypothyroid/pre diabetes thanks to PCOS. I am not going to post a lot here about my diet and weight...but I am going to start a WISH journal on DIS if anyone cares to follow. I know how much I have to lose and its going to be a long journey and I am not going to set weekly or even monthly weight loss goals. Instead I am going to go for STREAKS of days of eating on plan and weighing the 4th of each month. Looks like the cupcakes and cocktails will just have to wait until November.

Thank you...it was tough thankfully I have a stubborn streak and an awesome husband (for the moment)
 
I do love the Pain Killer's from the Polynesian! Only had them at Tambu though - we didn't really visit the pool bar much at the Polynesian.
 
My goals for 2016... Run a half Marathon in a week!!! After that I don't know maybe some local races if I can.

I have a Fitbit Charge I love it. I also have an Apple Watch and wear both everyday (people think I'm crazy for wearing both). I had a slight problem with mine tho, the button fell off. Luckily I contacted them and they sent me a new one no problem after I sent them a picture of it.

Favorite Lunch Time Favorites & Dreams


Trying to find ways to pass the next 301 days, so Wednesday is going to be officially called “Whet Your Appetite Wednesday” because “Cupcakes” like eating and most of this trip will be focused around Wine & Dine. Since the menus are not up for next year until the midSpring, I figured we could pass the time away with some of our favorite dining experiences or foods from around WDW!


We talked about breakfast so why not turn out attention towards lunch…although I don’t stop much for lunch during trips to WDW. I have had a couple of soups & sandwiches on occasion that I would love to have again…

I loved the French Onion Soup that I had to be unmannerly and pry the last little bits cheese off the sides of the ramekin and the horseradish sour cream used a condiment for the sandwich was AMAZING.

While in I'm not having anything alcoholic lol. However I would get a dole whip at the poly or maybe a non-alcoholic drink from trader sams.

My favorite snacks are Dole Whip, Jalapeno cheese pretzel, regular pretzel with a beer in Germany, cheesecake brownie from BW Bakery
 
I definitely want to eat at Beaches N Cream...ordering the exact thing you posted...the grilled cheese & tomato soup. That meal has been calling my name for years, yet I never make it there.

We finally ate lunch at BOG on Christmas Eve. I was quite happy with the food. I had the croque monsieur.
 
Getting the BCV text that all our days went through with DVC rental was such a happy text to get during my trip!! I still cant believe we get to stay there & enjoy that amazing pool!!

I think you will smash those goals! What do you mean by "official" time limit? I know you are talking about Route 66...do they let you go longer?
