Whet Your Appetite Wednesday:
Favorite WDW Breakfast (Part 3)-Favorite Breakfast Character Experience
Trying to find ways to pass the next 329 days, so Wednesday is going to be officially called “Whet Your Appetite Wednesday” because “Cupcakes” like eating and most of this trip will be focused around Wine & Dine. Since the menus are not up for next year until the midSpring, I figured we could pass the time away with some of our favorite dining experiences or foods from around WDW!

Normally, I am not a breakfast type of girl but on vacation it is a totally different…I LOVE BREAKFAST. My normal touring plans is to be up early for EMH and then as the park opens for everyone head off for a great meal that will last well until late afternoon.

Yes, I love character dining…there I said it and admitted it. I don’t like to waste my time in the parks with standing in line so a dining experience is the perfect solution! Last trip it was to Akerhaus to visit the Princesses since we were there for Princess Half Marathon. We even had sign our race bibs!

This trip we are hoping to score a breakfast or brunch ADR for one of my family’s favorite breakfast character experiences…

Totally fits into the whole Wine & Dine event and you know we will be having our bibs signed this time around too by the Fab 5 along with pictures in their Chef’s attire!

Waving the napkin is always fun too! I love looking back at these pictures from now almost 4 years ago. How is that possible? DD is now a freshman in college and in this picture she was a freshman in high school.

Plus the food is good…I am hoping for a few Mickey Waffles and Pluto Cheese Blintzs!

It's been a while since I've done Chef Mickeys but it's one of my main memories from trips when I was younger. I really should get back there one of these times.

Whet Your Appetite Wednesday:
Favorite WDW Breakfast (Part 4)-Favorite Breakfast Food Finds

Trying to find ways to pass the next 322 days, so Wednesday is going to be officially called “Whet Your Appetite Wednesday” because “Cupcakes” like eating and most of this trip will be focused around Wine & Dine. Since the menus are not up for next year until the mid Spring, I figured we could pass the time away with some of our favorite dining experiences or foods from around WDW!

Normally, I am not a breakfast type of girl but on vacation it is a totally different…I LOVE BREAKFAST. My normal touring plans is to be up early for EMH and then as the park opens for everyone head off for a great meal that will last well until late afternoon. WDW has some great places and great menu items…so much so that I am going to have to go with breakfast for a couple of weeks since I can’t pick just one place or one item.

To wrap this breakfast search up, I thought I would showcase 3 other breakfast finds that I really enjoy at WDW, although I don’t seem to get them every trip.

Breakfast Lasagna at the Crystal Palace

cpbreakfast3.jpg
Layers of Waffles, Pancakes, pound cake, strawberries, blueberries and bananas topped with pastry cream and caramelized sugar…OH MY! Yep, totally yumminess as well as a sugar rush!

Lobster Eggs Benedict at Grand Floridian Café

Lobster-Eggs-Benedict-600x394.jpg

Poached Eggs and traditional Hollandaise, served on a bed of Hash, which features Asparagus and Lobster. Not only is this one beautiful but it is delicious! I know your shocked…something not sweet? I do like savory on occasion, it’s all about balance!

Strawberry Soup at 1900 Park Fare

1900-park-fare-strawberry-soup-in-bowl.jpg

Sweet, creamy and pink! This is a favorite at home too, as my children love to make it during the summer. Although I am not a fan of 1900 Park Fare (in fact it rates as my WORST meal at WDW), this soup is enough to draw me back!

Well that wraps up the breakfast search…anything you have had at WDW for breakfast that was yummy and has you dreamy of when you will get it again?

Any breakfast food finds that draw you back to certain places?

No cupcakes for me yesterday...waiting until this weekend when I do my National Cupcake Day Virtual Half Marathon to truly celebrate!

Happy National cupcake Day!! Oh now I need to find some cupcakes

Anymore drinks to explore? The tour was starting to get good!

So sorry that I missed Five O'clock Friday last week...my DD came home from college and had her wisdom teeth removed the next day...so I was a little off on my days. Promise there will be one on Friday!

It's been a while since I've done Chef Mickeys but it's one of my main memories from trips when I was younger. I really should get back there one of these times.

It's not a place I would have to eat at every trip...but it just really fits the theme of this trip...and not having to stand in line at the W&D after party for pictures with Chef Mickey is a huge draw!

Happy National Cupcake day! I hope you had one. Unfortunately I didn't as I'm surrounded by Christmas cookies instead.

Me too...surround by baking cookies for DS#2 Christmas party at school and a cake for DS#1 Band Concert! Sigh...

Welcome home Abby:welcome:bless her heart on the wisdom tooth extraction! I hope she is feeling better. That hurts!

Now that breakfast lasagna wow just wow!!!:flower1: This is going to be so hard to decide. My first kid free trip with no counter service. I just may eat myself into a food coma!

It’s 5 O’Clock Friday
at Leaping Horse Libations

In order to pass the time away, instead of Cupcake Friday’s we are going to take a look at cocktails around the world…since we are partly fueled by cocktails. Maybe we can find them a little more readily then the cupcake disappointment we experienced on our PHM Cupcake Crawl!

The BC/YC have been explored so let’s take a little stroll around to the Boardwalk and see what we can find at the Leaping Horse Libations (aka poolside near the freakiest pool in WDW) under, whoops I mean at the BW.

Okay…so my kids could handle the clown thing a few years ago (this is actually them swimming on New Year’s Day…in between really COLD (and I mean LITERALLY freezing) days!

I see lots of already familiar drinks from other places already visited, must find something new and unique! So bartender…

Pour me somethin' tall an' strong,
Make it a Tilt-A-Whirl before there is a Roller Coaster Meltdown
It's only half-past twelve but I don't care.
It's five o'clock somewhere.

Thanks Kafi...it is very nice to have her home for a few weeks....She had an AWESOME 1st Semester at college...shameless mommie brag as she earned a 4.0 and is on the President's Scholar List! It was a rough few days with the teeth, but she is back in life full swing, working and hanging out with her friends.

The breakfast lasagna is a TOTAL WOW for me...I forgot to mention the Pooh's Puffed French Toast which is amazing too! I totally plan to eat myself into a food coma this trip!

WE INERRUPT THOSE COCKTAIL DREAMS TO ANNOUNCE

disney-s-beach-club-resort.jpg

We have a DISNEY RESORT reservation!!!
We decided to go ahead and book part of our stay now to ensure that we get to stay at our dream resort (pool)!

Our DVC rental has YET to go through and we are keeping our request OPEN
and wishing for a "crap load" of pixie does that it will eventually (maybe April 4th).

But for now we can SQUEAL like a bunch of little girls and say...

WE ARE STAYING AT THE BEACH CLUB!

Both those drinks sound good, but I gotta go with the Roller Coaster Meltdown, because I'm a pina colada kinda girl (the funny part about that is that I hate pineapple).

Also ... YAY BEACH CLUB!!!!!

WE INTERRUPT THOSE COCKTAIL DREAMS (once again)
TO ANNOUNCE...

beach_club_header.jpg

Never fails to happen, once you book something always happens! But this time something AMAZING happened. Our DVC request came through for our main stay dates around the Wine & Dine Half. So now there is no need for a triple split stay (YET, planning jury is still out when we are arriving and departing).

We were able to secure a 5 night reservation at the BCVillas and cut our cost in half of booking through Disney 3 days deluxe/2 days value. That's right we are saving by DVC Deluxe for the entire stay...which translates to lots more cocktails and maybe a longer stay! YOU KNOW FUNNY DISNEY MATH ALWAYS TRANSLATES INTO ONE MORE DISNEY DAY!

Woohoo Beach Club! Choosing a resort just adds to the excitement.

It certainly does...my dream has been the BC for this trip and it has come true. :cloud9:

The Roller Coaster Meltdown

It does look yummy...but I am saving my rum for a dole whip....LOL

YEP NEIGHBORS...we are going to prove to your cousin we are not a bunch of crazy white ladies...LOL....okay maybe we are but totally harmless.:rotfl2:

I have a sticky on the first page...the 2nd post that we can add any information too. Just let me know what you want to add.

I AM MAD AT SHOPKICKS...I braved the darn mall yesterday (NIGHTMARE) and it kept tell me when I checked in server was busy and points would credit...GUESS WHAT, they did not. I reported the problem but they are not doing anything about it...apparently lots of people had some issue. I lost 1000 points yesterday. >:(>:(>:(>:(>:(>:(>:(>:(>:(

Scratching my head on that Sarah...pina colada but hates pineapple. :crazy2::rotfl2:

That is awesome you got your BC Villas reservation to come through!

Thanks Melissa....I told Debra that once I book through Disney it would come through...and yep it happened. But I am not complaining...we got what we wanted at half the cost and a lot less headaches of having to switch resorts and leave the BC for POP.

Whet Your Appetite Wednesday:
Favorite WDW Christmas Treat & a Vision of Sundaes Dancing in my Head

Trying to find ways to pass the next
315 days, so Wednesday is going to be officially called “Whet Your Appetite Wednesday” because “Cupcakes” like eating and most of this trip will be focused around Wine & Dine. Since the menus are not up for next year until the midSpring, I figured we could pass the time away with some of our favorite dining experiences or foods from around WDW!

This being Christmas week I thought I would take a few moments to think about some great food found during the holidays!

Peppermint-Holiday-Cupcake-Boardwalk-Bakery-20-515x625.jpg
Hands down my favorite holiday treat that I have actually had was the Peppermint Cupcake from the Boardwalk Bakery! And it has to be my 2nd favorite cupcake in all of WDW! Nothing screams the holidays to me like a candy cane and this cupcake totally packs the peppermint flavor I wanted from the frosting to the almost like peppermint cheesecake filling that is surrounded by chocolate cake! Total peppermint bark (which is my favorite holiday candy). Sigh…I doubt they will have this when we are there in November so I will have to settle for something I know will be there that I have not had…

Plaza-Ice-Cream-Peppermint-Sundae-2-350x341.jpg

Christmas in a bowl, Holiday Peppermint Sundae found during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Main Street Plaza Ice Cream Parlor…(vanilla and mint chocolate chip ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge, with a little extra special something , crushed candy canes sprinkled generously throughout the hot fudge and all over the whipped cream topping).
I am totally getting this and sitting my hiney on the curb and watching the parade (which I have NEVER DONE). And NO I AM NOT SHARING MY SEAT OR MY SUNDAE!

Any holiday treats you have in mind?
