I was just coming here to reply to your completed Yachtsman review, so the cupcake update is a nice bonus! Glad you really enjoyed your Starring Rolls treat.
And it's great that you enjoyed your Yachtsman experience overall, from (most of) the food to the service. I'm not even a big steak lover, but all this amazing filet commentary has me craving it again.
Aha! An extra bit of dining enjoyment thrown in at no additional cost!
BTW: After reading yet another amazing steak review Em and I went straight to the store and bought a NY Strip, grilled it and devoured it. (Michael was with friends so no need to worry that we were forgetting our man!) Shows you the influence and the power of the Dining Boards!!!
The red velvet was (I think), the only cupcake we tried last year and we found it amazing.
Even though I want to try some more, I definitely want to repeat the red velvet cupcake!
We've bought some goat cheese marinated in olive oil with herbs in a similar pot as the one on the Yatchman plate and it was really good. However, the cheese was formed in little balls and had no rind.
There are about 43 more cupcakes that I want to try too!!!
See another person who didn't mind the cheese?
I have to give my taste buds a pep talk next time!
Red velvet is my favorite cupcake. I ate the whole thing and didn't think I would! I can't wait to ave one of those again!
Sounds like another red velvet cupcake is in your future! I would have eaten the entire thing myself but I was saving my appetite for YSH!
Brenda,
It was so funny how your husband remembered us. KAMP
But when I told my DH he said that's how he would remember it also. The way the minds of men work sometimes is crazy, but hey, if it works go for it!!!
. Glad you had a great YSH meal. I could hear the choir singing as I was reading it. It only stopped momentarily for the "goo" and the marrow. Small intermissions though.
Can't wait to read more.
The male mind!!
And YES!! I heard your anagelic choir when I ate my filet. It was oh so good!
I remember you saying you shopped there
problem is- I live in the middle of the Cornfield. Seriously
the hospital I work at is LITERALLY surrounded by cornfields on all sides. When I look out the window in our office I see cornfields
Closest Target is an hour away.
I LOVE Ross, shopped there all the time when I lived near one. There is an outlet mall semi-close, but I haven't made it out there quite yet.
Casseroles are totally different! If the food is cooked together or a Salad, that is fine!
Those cupcakes look AMAZING! I cannot wait to try one! I know my girls will love that place too!
Oh my, you really are in a rural area. At least you know where your nearest hospital is located!
Forever21 does have on-line shopping which I have done but it's not the same.
Brenda, you have me offiically drooling over your filet and I know what I'm ordering in December. I want one now it looks so good.
We've done only one signature restaurant in all of our visits to DW and that was Brown Derby which we totally disliked in all regards; but I really think Mark will like this special lunch at Yachtsman for his 60th.
YSH will be a fabulous place for Mark's bday meal! They really do get some great reviews. Hang on for my upcoming HBD review.... it was .... interesting.
You may see me agreeing with you.
Cant wait to try YSH for the first time in Dec
Awww Debra it should be wonderful!! You'll have to tell us how you liked it!!
Aww, it's one of my favorite names too!!! I love Lucille Ball so of course I had to use Lucy! Confession, because in my signature it looks like it could be either way, it's actually my dear doggys name, she came before my DD (Ava Elizabeth, my sweet baby
) so she got the name first
Love the rest of Yatchmans! The filet looks so good, I'm having a really hard time choosing YSH or LeCelliers filet, I may have to just squeeze in both! And I agree about the bone marrow
Starring rolls!! I cannot wait for that Red Velvet cupcake!
So funny.. you had a very gentle way of telling me to pay more attention!!! Otherwise your user name would be Lucysmommy!!
I'm a dope sometimes! And Ava is a beautiful name! I think I have seen every I Love Lucy 10 times. It is my go to show on TV which annoys Michael since he says I watch on an HD TV regular def. all the TV Land shows Yeah, so??
As for the steak dilemma, I like both but YSH is definitely a more Signature experience while LC is wonderful (one of my favorite filets) but more crowded and not so intimate of a setting. Just different. However, it's still a hard choice if you pit the breads against each other - LC pretzel bread vs YSH onion rolls. I would choose the pretzel bread!!
With all that said.. I'm no help.
Give Ava a hug and Lucy a bone! Did I get it right that time?
