Alright this is the last of the food porn I have from this past trip. Enjoy!
Chefs De France Prix Fixe Lunch
This was a great deal but I must say I regret doing it. The food was really good, but since it was so hot outside it just didn't sit right. French food is very rich and this was no exception. I'll go back, and probably even order the same things again just wouldn't do it on such a hot day.
Our starters was soup which we didn't take pictures of. I got the lobster bisque which was very nice and my boyfriend got the french onion and he said it was one of the best french onion soups he's ever had.
For our mains I had
Gratin de Macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese
Absolutely delicious, but like I said rather heavy for the heat that we were experiencing that week. The portion was huge as well, would make for a good dinner.
He had
Quiche Lorraine - ham and cheese quiche
This was good. The salad lightened it up a bit which made it a little easier to stomach in the weather.
I'm really not one to complain about the weather I swear! But coming from a pretty crummy Canadian May where we hadn't seen sun for months to Florida during a pretty hot year was difficult to acclimate to.
For dessert we both got
Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce
RIDICULOUS! I was expecting ping-pong ball size dessert and we got tennis ball or bigger! It was huge and delicious and I dare anyone not to want to drink the chocolate sauce on it.
50's Prime Time Cafe Dinner
Some of this is a little dirty because we took a bite before we remembered to take a picture, so here's your food porn censors warning, rated pg-13 lol
I ordered something I've had there before and really enjoy which is the
Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast - Slow cooked 'til fork tender, served with mashed potatoes, carrots, celery and onions $17.99
I really like this. The serving is big, but I wouldn't mind if it was a little bigger because it's so good. And since it's "fork tender" you don't have to waste time with a knife so you can just shovel it into your mouth.
My boyfriend had trouble deciding, which made the decision pretty easy to get
A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings $19.99
If you want to talk "bang for your buck" look no further. This is a TON of food, all delicious and generously portioned. The fried chicken was great and he really liked the meatloaf (which I do not eat).
He didn't have room for dessert, but we were on the dining plan so I FOUND room for
S'mores $4.79
Can't go wrong with smores right? Unless you want to eat them looking like a lady, then they're the wrong things to order. Difficult to eat, but really yummy.
Our last meal of the trip was at
Rose and Crown Pub Dinner
I will not go back here. The food was ok, but nothing I can't get at the pub around the corner at home. Actually, the food was cold, like it had been plated hours ago and sitting under a warming lamp - the top was warm but as you got past that the rest was cold. The one saving grace was our server was absolutely wonderful, the best we had all vacation. If I knew we'd have him again, I'd return but if not I'd sooner get fish and chips at the counter service place beside it.
Anyways, on with the show
I got
Sunday Roast - with Yorkshire Pudding, Roasted Potatoes, seasonal Vegetable, and Shallot Gravy $16.99
Like I said, it was cold. Also, somewhat leathery. Maybe we were just there on a bad day?
My boyfriend got
Bangers and Mash - Traditional English Sausages with Braised Cabbage and Bacon served with Mashed Potatoes and Shallot Gravy $15.99
He got this because our server recommended it. It was good, but somewhat cold. He'd order it again though, so I guess he's not as picky as I am about my meals temperature!
For dessert I got
Bakewell Tart $5.49
SO GOOD! Maybe one of my fave desserts all week. It's like cake, pie, tart all in one. Just the right amount of sweet for me, I wish I could get them at home. If anyone has a recipe for this please PM it to me!!
He got
No Sugar Added Fruit Trifle $5.49
I'm assuming it was good because he wouldn't share it! How cute is it though?!? This is the great thing with Disney, if you're diabetic or on a diet or can't have added sugar in your diet you don't get stuck with sugar free jello at every meal you can have great options everywhere you go.
Well that's it for this trip, thanks for looking! HOPEFULLY I'll be there again soon to eat more and share with you!
