Disney Food Pictures...Part IV!

Alright this is the last of the food porn I have from this past trip. Enjoy!

Chefs De France Prix Fixe Lunch

This was a great deal but I must say I regret doing it. The food was really good, but since it was so hot outside it just didn't sit right. French food is very rich and this was no exception. I'll go back, and probably even order the same things again just wouldn't do it on such a hot day.

Our starters was soup which we didn't take pictures of. I got the lobster bisque which was very nice and my boyfriend got the french onion and he said it was one of the best french onion soups he's ever had.

For our mains I had

Gratin de Macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese
P1010016.jpg

Absolutely delicious, but like I said rather heavy for the heat that we were experiencing that week. The portion was huge as well, would make for a good dinner.

He had
Quiche Lorraine - ham and cheese quiche
P1010014.jpg

This was good. The salad lightened it up a bit which made it a little easier to stomach in the weather.

I'm really not one to complain about the weather I swear! But coming from a pretty crummy Canadian May where we hadn't seen sun for months to Florida during a pretty hot year was difficult to acclimate to.

For dessert we both got
Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce
P1010018.jpg

RIDICULOUS! I was expecting ping-pong ball size dessert and we got tennis ball or bigger! It was huge and delicious and I dare anyone not to want to drink the chocolate sauce on it.

50's Prime Time Cafe Dinner

Some of this is a little dirty because we took a bite before we remembered to take a picture, so here's your food porn censors warning, rated pg-13 lol

I ordered something I've had there before and really enjoy which is the
Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast - Slow cooked 'til fork tender, served with mashed potatoes, carrots, celery and onions $17.99
P1010163.jpg

I really like this. The serving is big, but I wouldn't mind if it was a little bigger because it's so good. And since it's "fork tender" you don't have to waste time with a knife so you can just shovel it into your mouth.

My boyfriend had trouble deciding, which made the decision pretty easy to get
A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings $19.99
P1010162.jpg

If you want to talk "bang for your buck" look no further. This is a TON of food, all delicious and generously portioned. The fried chicken was great and he really liked the meatloaf (which I do not eat).

He didn't have room for dessert, but we were on the dining plan so I FOUND room for
S'mores $4.79
P1010164.jpg

Can't go wrong with smores right? Unless you want to eat them looking like a lady, then they're the wrong things to order. Difficult to eat, but really yummy.

Our last meal of the trip was at

Rose and Crown Pub Dinner

I will not go back here. The food was ok, but nothing I can't get at the pub around the corner at home. Actually, the food was cold, like it had been plated hours ago and sitting under a warming lamp - the top was warm but as you got past that the rest was cold. The one saving grace was our server was absolutely wonderful, the best we had all vacation. If I knew we'd have him again, I'd return but if not I'd sooner get fish and chips at the counter service place beside it.

Anyways, on with the show
I got
Sunday Roast - with Yorkshire Pudding, Roasted Potatoes, seasonal Vegetable, and Shallot Gravy $16.99
P1010172.jpg

Like I said, it was cold. Also, somewhat leathery. Maybe we were just there on a bad day?

My boyfriend got
Bangers and Mash - Traditional English Sausages with Braised Cabbage and Bacon served with Mashed Potatoes and Shallot Gravy $15.99
P1010173.jpg

He got this because our server recommended it. It was good, but somewhat cold. He'd order it again though, so I guess he's not as picky as I am about my meals temperature!

For dessert I got
Bakewell Tart $5.49
P1010175.jpg

SO GOOD! Maybe one of my fave desserts all week. It's like cake, pie, tart all in one. Just the right amount of sweet for me, I wish I could get them at home. If anyone has a recipe for this please PM it to me!!

He got
No Sugar Added Fruit Trifle $5.49
P1010176.jpg

I'm assuming it was good because he wouldn't share it! How cute is it though?!? This is the great thing with Disney, if you're diabetic or on a diet or can't have added sugar in your diet you don't get stuck with sugar free jello at every meal you can have great options everywhere you go.

Well that's it for this trip, thanks for looking! HOPEFULLY I'll be there again soon to eat more and share with you!

Iced Vanilla Coffee. I remember this being too sweet and not enough coffee, but still drinkable.

Sorry I'm late to the food thread parade- I've been through all of them and LOVE the pics! I thought that for my first entry, I'd share the very first pic that my wife took on her very first trip to Disney- her lunch! Seriously, we were on our honeymoon and were doing the Dining Plan back when you got an appetizer and two snacks per day. Talk about a lot of food! Anyways, our first meal was at Tusker House BEFORE it was redone as a buffet. I'm kinda sad as it was our favorite CS at Animal Kingdom.

I had a filet mignon with blue crab meat on top, béarnaise sauce, and asparagus. DH gave me 2 red potatoes as well, that mix GREAT with the béarnaise.

I've got a few to share!

Roast beef sub and onion rings from Beaches and Cream. The onion rings were huge! DH loved it.

Kids Mickey Sundae from Beaches and Cream. So cute!

Mixed Greens Salad from Cinderella's Royal Table.

Roasted beef Tenderloin from CRT.
DSCN0434-1.jpg

Cheese Puff Pastry appetizer on the Children's Menu at Chefs de France. This tasted fine, but I thought it was a horrible choice for a children's menu! It was extremely flaky and crumbs went everywhere!
DSCN0488-1.jpg

Croque Monsieur from Chefs de France. I thought this croque monsieur was better than the one I had in the real Paris earlier this summer.
DSCN0490-1.jpg

Carrot Cake cookie from Writers Stop. I'm usually not a fan of vegetables in my dessert, but I had heard really great things about it and since this was my breakfast, I figured I'd give it a shot. ;) It did not disappoint.
DSCN0621-1-1.jpg

Iceberg salad from Liberty Inn, minus the blue cheese
DSCN0741-1.jpg

Strawberry banana smoothie from Auntie Gravity's at Magic Kingdom. We found this was a really good value for a snack credit.

Oreo Bon Bon cupcake from Boardwalk Bakery. Soooo yummy!

Here are a few of the good food pics from our most recent trip in May 2011.

Pizzafari - Pepperoni Pizza and Chocolate Mousse with Side Salad

Yak and Yeti - Crispy Honey Chicken
cimg3120.jpg

Pop Century - Half a Breakfast Bounty Platter, we share everything but espeacially breakfast, we arn't big eatters in the morning.
cimg3051b.jpg

KRNR Station - Delicious Strawberry Banana Smoothie, this tasted even better cause it was free, being nice goes a long way especially when the CM behind the register is bored and it is your birthday.
cimg3012.jpg

Kona - Typical Birthday Dessert, but it is the thought that counts right? We got regular desserts too but we were so excited about the cupcake we forgot to take pictures.

1211054182_4LCh5-L.jpg

Side of Wok Fried Green Beans (not the appetizer - that plate is larger)

Everything was very tasty!

Here's a dessert that we didn't even order! My wife was wearing a Disney maternity top and was clearly showing- so our waitress at Le Cellier surprised us with this tasty treat when we finished our meal. Just one of the many reasons why we love Disney!

Well it's been about 7 months since I ate the glorious glorious food o Disney. I suppose I should add my pictures to this!

disney%2011

Assorted seafood from Cape May Cafe. It was my friend's plate and I'm not s seafood person so I'm not entirely sure what most of this is. I do know the chunk of fish at about the 6 o'clock position is mahimahi.

disney010.jpg

My plate, chicken, cornbread, a roll, a chunk of butter in the middle, boiled baby red potatoes and basil mashed potatoes. I learned after this plate...screw the chunk butter, use the clarified butter for the crab legs instead!

disney015.jpg

My desserts. Some kind of berry cheesecake, oreo bon bon, key lime tart and a chocolate chip cookie.

disney078.jpg

Apple crisp with french vanilla cream from Garden Grill.

What was left of the potroast at 50's Prime Time by the time we remembered to take a pic.

disney058.jpg

Steak, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and veggies at 50's Prime Time. Not such a great steak, but yummy potatoes.

Boston cream pie parfait at 50s PT.

What kind of flash/camera do you use? I can't believe you are getting such great pics in such dark restaurants!
I have a Nikon D90 with SB900 but any DSLR and an external flash will do the same thing.

In case anyone doesn't like chocolate :scared1: here are the strawberry with orange-whip cream waffles also from Roaring Fork. On our way home tomorrow so I can sort through all my pictures.
