I loved each and every one of the pictures. Anakin is grinning like a possum (that's an old Southern saying just in case you didn't know) so I know he was having a great time. The AoA looks amazing!
The Nemo Section has the main theme pool. The Cars section has it's own pool too. The Lion King Section does not have it's own pool. If that makes a difference to you and your family.
Anakin is very excited about his school work today. He really "gets" it today. He is almost done with his seatwork, so I'll be needed for the rest of it.
I don't know if you remember, but part of his occupational therapy was making diagonals. He was unable. This wasn't part of his lessons, but he asked to learn how to make arrows. He can make arrows now, they have 2 diagonals!! Now the handwriting is coming together so much better!!

Actually, last time we were in Disney we stayed at POFQ and didn't use the pool once. We never have enough time to do everything at the parks, let alone the resort since my dad insists that 4 days at Disney is "the most [he] can imagine anyone doing, no one would ever stay longer"
So glad Anakin was enthusiastic about school today! I'm glad his handwriting is improving and he is learning to make arrows. Neat!
4 days?! The majority of our trips are 2 days on weekends. 3 nights makes it seem like a vacation to me. But it is a challenge to get everything in. Do you park hop or stick to one park a day?
What a bummer to have it kind of hyped up when you first arrived there only to be out of stock. Obviously I haven't played the game yet (and probably won't get to) but it must be really fun if it is so popular!! I'm glad Anakin handled it pretty well, that's tough on anyone when you get excited and then let-down.Late yesterday afternoon we headed over to the MK to purchase the new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom at home game and cards. As we entered the gate, a cm saw Anakin's cards and told him about the cards at Emporium. We told her that is exactly why we came.
We got to the counter at Emporium and the cards were sold out!! The cm said there was such a line for them at opening that they sold out at 10Am!!!! 10AM?! What was Disney thinking? Why didn't they order enough? They know the game is widely popular. We were told try back next week.
Anakin was disappointed, but he didn't cry. I was really surprised. He looked like he lost his best friend, but there wasn't a tear in his eye. This is the first time he has ever handled disappointment this well!!
Ooh, what a nice bit of pixie dust! That was so sweet of the couple, glad Anakin got something out of the trip!
Dh wanted to ride Buzz Lightyear, so we headed there. On the way, a woman came up to Anakin and asked him if he likes swords. He emphatically answered, "yes!!!". She pulled a sword out of her bag and gave it to him. I thanked her but said she certainly didn't need to give him anything. She said that she and her dh ate at CRT and they didn't need the toys that came with the meal. She gave her husband's sword to Anakin and he was in heaven! So he didn't go home empty handed!! He was pixie dusted with a CRT sword!! How very wonderful of this couple!! If you are reading, thanks so much!!!
New pillow pets? Simba, Cheshire Cat, Bullseye, Lotso
At "his" battery packs.
On the school front:
Anakin is reading again!! 2 and 3 letter words. He is even beginning to remember sight words. He is truely grasping the rule that ck goes at the end of short vowel words and ke goes at the end of long vowel words. I never learned that rule. Also to tell if a vowel goes with K or C. He is counting by two's either by odd or even numbers. He is counting forward and backwards by 1's to and from 200. And learning the value of pennies, dimes, $1 and $10 bills. He is also learning the geography of where he lives, to develop healthy habits, and about muscles. He has also learned to write cursive e, i, t, u, o, l, h, f, T, f, c, d, g, b, k, m, n, s, S, G. Whew!! Just in the first 11 lessons of school! Of course, it's taken us more than 11 days for him to fully grasp all these concepts. But he's off to a great start!
I don't understand why Disney does that sort of thing. If I had planned a trip around being there for that I would be ticked! Good job on Anakin controlling his emotions, that was very grown up of him.
What pixie dust!! How nice of the lady to give Anakin the sword!! You can tell by the smile on his face that he really was thrilled with it.
I am glad you are having so much fun with your camera! I know I am enjoying the pictures!
How great about Anakin's school!! I was never taught that rule myself, it sounds like everything is clicking and that is great!
Well, keep in mind that is 4 days only every couple of years. We do park hop, last time we only got like a half day at Epcot which I was really sad about

Love the way your new camera's pictures look! Very sharp and clear! Is Lotso still a trigger for Anakin? (Or am I thinking of someone else...) They are making pillow pets for everything these days!
at his battery packs! Great pose!
Great news about Anakin's progress in school! Way to go Anakin!
The only thing I might have against limiting is if in cases like mine where my kids are all so close in age that they went through stages at the same time. Then getting one would lead to feelings getting hurt. It ticks me off how people get them and then sell them at such elevated prices.
Ahhhh....love the fantasyland pictures! And Anakin looks like he had so much fun in the water...
I had read that they would be selling the cards and immediately thought of Anakin. You tell Anakin that I am extremely proud of him for not crying when he found out that they were sold out (very dumb of Disney not to order more than they did).
How very very sweet of the lady and her husband for giving Anakin their sword!
Anakin is moving right along with his school lesson isn't he!?! That's fantastic!
Love your lime green Mickey head keychain. I don't think too many people know about the LGMHs any more, especially now that the paint chips that started the whole thing are no longer available at Home Depot. I'll have to look for one of those keychains myself.
I am so excited to hear how Anakin is progressing with his schoolwork. That is just awesome! Tell him that someone in Pennsylvania is very proud of him.
Catching up..... great pictures on the fantasyland updates. Happy late anniversary! AoA looks really neat. Have you stayed at any of the values? Which one did you like best? Was thinking of Pop for next year.
The pictures at MK were great! Loved the castle.....did look spooky! What camera did you get? Looking for new one before our March trip.
Thanks! I didn't realize they didn't make the pain chips anymore. When did that stop? They had so many colored key chains at DTD, but after I bought my lime green there were only 2 more that color. It must be catching on!
He says he wants to go to Pennsylvania to Meme and Papa's, to Shady Maple, Zoo America and Chocolate World. He misses lightning bugs.
I heard about the cards as well. Not sure if they're selling them out here, probably not because the game is out there. We still need #6 for the first 60, that card is gonna drive us nuts!! LOL So proud that Anakin didn't cry. Love the pics of the sword, and Love his Boba Fett hat!! Chris is a HUGE Boba Fett fan!!
Did Grumpy start college classes today? I was thinking about him last night. I hope he has a great year!
Also hoping that Anakin continues to make strides at his schoolwork, sounds like he is quite the perfectionist!
Not having a HD near us, I did not realize it until someone mentioned in another thread that they went to get some paint chips and found that the paint line had been discontinued.
Lightning bugs are few and far between now, the season is winding down. We had to turn our heat on yesterday! Never ever have I used heat in August before. We were in the 50s all day.
Tink, I just FINALLY read up on everything and also saw your wonderful pics of the fun you have been having. Thank you for keeping us up-to-the-minute on the latest changes. I am so proud of JJ for not crying when he didn't get his cards. I know he will have them soon and will enjoy them. He looks so cute and is really growing. I hope we get to meet up in a few weeks!
