Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

Good to see the construction is progressing !!!The new restaurant is definately on my radar for our Grannie trip!!!

Men often have a funny way of thinking but I was still surprised when you said that the hubby and Anakin went right on into the play area without changing Anakin's clothes first. Makes you wonder about their thought process doesn't it? :lmao:

Yay for Anakin making those three steps all by himself! Way to go buddy! :woohoo:

The play area looks so cute. It was still behind walls when we went so I only got to see the tip top of the wagon and animals in it.

I don't think you went overboard with the construction pictures at all. I love seeing how things are shaping up.

The ironic part, was after he did change Anakin's clothing, a thunderstorm started to brew. We were playing SMK and had some light rain, but the storm was either ahead or behind us because we didn't get drenched. Yet walking out of the park the park there were big puddles.

We stopped at the bakery for an icecream sandwich to share, got our food and sat down stood at the counter because there were no seats. (Anakin's w/c fit in perfectly at the counter so he had a seat.) And the skies opened up. We finished eating and the rain stopped.

Glad you enjoy the construction pics. Things have really take off there with the construction and at the Grand Floridian! For the longest time it seemed like nothing was going on and all of the sudden the progress is huge!

Wow, it looks like the construction is really going well, thanks for all the pictures! :thumbsup2

The new splash area looked like a hit, not sure I follow Goofy's reasoning either, but glad Anakin navigated the stairs and was able to enjoy it. :goodvibes

I couldn't really tell from the pictures---did the splash area have any gimmicks or was it just kind of like a fountain?

I didn't go in that area, I was taking pictures from outside it. I think it was just fountains. I didn't see any gimmicks.

The new restaurant sounds awesome! Can't wait for it to open. Sounds like it would be a great dinner option for the Grannie trip!

Love the pics!! They've come a long way with the construction in 2 months LOL Crazy!! Looks like Anakin had a blast!!! Awesome with the steps too!! :)

Great pics ! It seems like it's taking SO long for the expansion .. but I sure can't wait until it's done !! :goodvibes

I know. All of the sudden it seems like the construction bloomed!

Looks like once crowd levels and temps go down, we will be heading back to Epcot to Mexico to work on stairs.

Thanks. It's so exciting to have some huge changes at the parks. I read on facebook that there is an expansion coming to DHS in the future? And there has been talk of Animal Kingdom having an Avatarland or something? DTD is getting a new Phinneas and Ferb thing starting Sept 1, I saw on the Disney blog!

I am downloading pictures to photobucket of the Lion King section at AoA. I didn't realize I took 60 pictures. Now to figure out which to post and which not. By far, my favorite section was the Cars section.

Checked out what little of the Mermaid section we could see from the fence. The set up is exactly like Pop Century. The doors open to the outside, unlike the Cars, Nemo and Lion King sections where the doors open to an interior hallway.

Pictures to come soon!

We'll be staying in the Little Mermaid section for one night in October (before our 3 night cruise) so I'll be looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Can't wait to see the pictures. I'm not a huge Cars fan and neither is my family, so what would you say is the second best section? I've really gotten on my parents to plan a trip for spring, so hopefully it's gonna happen! :yay:

Sweet! A cruise!! I guess my Cars section pictures are on my phone from the other week. I will post them after I get these up. The mermaid section wasn't open yet, so the pictures are from a distance.

Depends on the price you are looking for. The Nemo, Cars, and Lion King section are suites and you will pay a premium for those. The Mermaid rooms are rooms like POP, no suites, 2 double beds and a bathroom - a typical motel room - but with superb Little Mermaid accents!

What do ya mean...which ones to post? I want to see all of 'em! :rotfl:

Many are the same thing different angles, different settings, lol.

Ok, here they come.

Great pictures! It looks like Anakin is having a lot of fun exploring the grounds! :goodvibes

We are interested in a suite for sure, so I guess that narrows it to Finding Nemo and The Lion King. I'm betting we're gonna go with The Lion King just because I think my family's general consensus will be that we prefer it.

More to come... (I need to check on Anakin's school work, he is yelling for Mama to come look!)

Ninja posting going on. I'm posting about the splash area at Dumbo and you're posting these great pictures of AoA. Although I still don't want to stay there, I must go visit...too many photo ops. Great pictures, Tink.

Looks like a really fun, but wet, area for kids. I better bring Mark a change of clothes. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

ROFL!

The Nemo Section has the main theme pool. The Cars section has it's own pool too. The Lion King Section does not have it's own pool. If that makes a difference to you and your family.

Yep. And still more to come. Be sure to eat there! The food is outstanding!!! I recommend the Surf and Surf Burger with seasoned fries! The cole slaw is yucky, imho.

The grounds are amazing!! Disney does the landscaping and all that like no other. Wow!! Thank you for sharing!!

Yes!! They did an awesome job of making you feel like you are right in the movie.

I hope to be back later to post the construction of mermaid pics and the lake and the lake view pictures.

Anakin is very excited about his school work today. He really "gets" it today. He is almost done with his seatwork, so I'll be needed for the rest of it.

I don't know if you remember, but part of his occupational therapy was making diagonals. He was unable. This wasn't part of his lessons, but he asked to learn how to make arrows. He can make arrows now, they have 2 diagonals!! Now the handwriting is coming together so much better!!
