No updates yet from Disney World today, but I did save Linda's (Linda67) final update from...



DISNEYLAND PARIS



Linda said, "For lunch today we are off to Adventure Land."

"I headed to Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost. I usually only visit DLP in the winter and I have never seen this place open so I was excited to see it was!"

"I decided to order a kids meal as the adult pizzas looked huge! You gotta love this box."

"This came as a lovely surprise..."

"It was a cheese tomato and herb pizza and was the perfect size for a snack. If I was going to be critical I would say it could do with more cheese but for 7 euros I was happy enough with it."

"I chose water for my included drink, with lovely 20th anniversary packaging."

"My meal also came with some cherry tomatoes and a choice of a yoghurt, drink or an ice cream. I chose the strawberry yoghurt drink."



"This was a great and inexpensive lunch in a really nice setting. The theming inside was like sitting in the queue for the jungle cruise. Also, I got another offer on the bottom of my receipt for a free hot drink later in the day. Hot drinks cost around 2.50 euro so when you think my meal only cost 7 euro this was a pretty sweet deal!

It's not fancy, but it's Disney World food and it's very fresh.

From a new reporter who just arrived at Disney World today, nicole0992...




"Hello! We arrived safely at the Boardwalk today. It was a bit of a fiasco here with getting our room assigned. We missed our lunch at Chefs de France but went instead to..."

La Cantina de San Angel

"We chose an order of nachos with the meat and beans served on the side. They were delicious and really hit the spot. Lots of cheese, fresh tomatoes and sliced jalapenos. Also chose an order of cheese empanadas. These were fresh and wonderful. The chips served along side were very fresh and crunchy."

Nachos - corn tortilla chips with ground beef and black beans (on the side), nacho cheese, fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, and sour cream

Empanadas de Queso - fresh corn masa (dough) filled with Chihuahua cheese topped with green sauce served with corn tortilla chips

"The girls also chose the Mexican Jarritos soda. They love it and had mango and fruit punch flavors. I stuck to a Dasani."





"Desserts were churritos with caramel dipping sauce and a lime popsicle. I didn't taste these, but they were devoured."

Good morning everyone! I'm happy to say that nicole0992 has come through for us again, this time with a great dinner update from...

First some menu pics...

nicole said, "We had a delicious dinner at Tutto Italia last night. Our meal was perfect, as always here. Tutto is our favorite restaurant on property. We are Italian and the food here is so authentic and close to what my grandmother would make, especially their tomato sauce."

"We had a long day after flying the red eye and not resting at all. We didn't have any appetizers and just enjoyed the focaccia bread and hard, crunchy bread sticks. The bread tastes just like Italian pepper biscuits without the pepper. These were served with a delicious olive oil and the most tender, incredible olives. These are huge and they are wonderful. Not salty at all."

Fettuccine Vecchia Roma (minus the pancetta)


"My youngest likes this plain. The noodles are delicate and thin, yet still have a bite to them. Sauce is not heavy like traditional Alfredo. It's creamy and buttery, yet so light. Hard to imagine, but she just loves this dish here and gets it every time."

Gnocchetti - Cavatelli pasta, sweet saugage ragu, tomato, and pecorino


"My other daughter chose the Gnochetti. These are gnocchi in a miniature version. Very small, yet so flavorful. The sauce is made of ground sweet sausage. She loved it. It was topped with pecorino cheese."

Spaghetti with beef and veal meatballs, pomodoro sauce


"I went simple because Tutto's sauce is so delicious that I could just eat a bowl of it all by itself! Yum! The spaghetti is served a perfect al dente. The meatballs are small and they are seasoned perfectly. I always order extra sauce and used it all. I'm just sad I couldn't even make a dent in the huge serving. All of our servings last night were huge."



"Oops, just realized that I am such a glutton with their yummy parmigiano reggiano grated cheese that they come along and top your food with that you cannot even see my meatballs."




Then for dessert...

Lemon cheesecake with macerated strawberries


"This was creamy, with just a hint of lemon. The strawberries were ripe, sweet and delicious."

Tiramisu


"This is my daughter's favorite. It honestly is the best Tiramisu we've ever had next to homemade. The coffee flavor is very delicate, so not overpowering the creams."

Cannoli - Crisp pastry filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate, and candied orange


"I chose the cannoli. The shell is crunchy, as it should be, and not hard as a rock. The sweet ricotta cream was loaded with miniature chocolate chips and a hint of orange zest. Just a perfect end to an all around wonderful first dinner. We will be back here again this week. As hard as I try to expand my Disney Dining horizons, I just cannot only eat here once a trip!"



She added, "Also wanted to mention their fresh brewed tropical tea here. It is unsweetened and has a hint of flavor. I usually prefer just plain unsweetened tea but this is really good tea. My daughter always adds sugar to hers and she said the slight hint of the mango (?) flavor was so good that it didn't need sugar."

"We ended the night watching Illuminations."

"Very smokey where we were outside of Italy, so my pictures aren't great."

I absolutely love Tutto, especially the Canolli. My mom is Italian and this is the best one I've had outside of NY (maybe even best anywhere!). I definitely can't find anything clue to it in Southern California!!

We've received another update from nicole0992. This one from...

"Breakfast although late, was quick orange juices and fruit bowls as well as a jelly roll at Kringla Bakery in Norway."

"The jelly roll was disappointing. It was fresh but none of us cared for it. The filling had an artificial taste to it. The fruit bowls were perfect. The fruit was ripe, cold and juicy as it should be."

"We also shared the Norwegian Club toasted sandwich. The sandwich was so delicious on nicely toasted whole grain bread with ham, turkey, Swiss, red onion and tomato."

As you may have noticed, we have had an unusually large number of no-shows this month and we currently have only one active reporter at Disney World.
( Thank you nicole0992) Also, our next volunteers are not scheduled to arrive until Feb. 16th.

So I'm going to make one last plea to anyone going this month to Disney World, or Disneyland, or the Disney Store ...

If you haven't already volunteered to do live updates, please consider doing so. I really do try to make the experience of "live reporting" as easy as possible, as I know how valuable your vacation time is. Whether you send your updates by text or by email, it works for me! Whether you send frequent small updates or occasional long ones, it's all good! So if you are on the fence about this, please climb on down and give it a try. Hey, you might just have fun!





Also I'm still looking for volunteers for the first 3 weeks of March (3/1 - 3/22). Plus I'm still taking names for April - June in order to determine the fate of this thread after March. If we have enough volunteers and interested readers, then I will do my part to keep this thing going.
