Ok, well hopefully it's just a temporary thing with the new Photobucket system and it will all get straightened out soon. In the meantime, I apologize to those who have upside down pics. Maybe hold your screen upside down? :lmao:

Lol- its even weirder- they're upside down on the thread, but when I enlarge the pic itself, it's right side up, so I won't have to do headstands after all! Altho I'm willing to for Disney food!

And here is Linda's last update from today...

Linda said, "I headed back to the hotel for a while in the afternoon before walking back to DLP to enjoy the rest of the day. My receipt for lunch at Belle Notte included a voucher for a free hot drink between 3 & 6 pm at a variety of CS places. I grabbed a hot chocolate on Main Street. Anyone who has ever tried hot chocolate at DLP will tell you that it's just the best!" :thumbsup2

"After a drink at the New York City Bar at the Hotel New York (which looked exactly like the drink I had last night!!), I strolled across to Earl Of Sandwich - well it's just so close !!" ;)

"Sorry to anyone who was expecting fine French dining but this was just what I fancied." :thumbsup2

Now let's go back to Disney World and our reporter, elleavon.

She and her family had dinner tonight at Downtown Disney's...

    Portobello

elleavon said, "Hi Barb. We are at Portobello for our last Disney meal. My brewed tea is so perfect after all that substandard fountain iced tea I've been drinking. Hannah's strawberry lemonade tastes like real strawberries."

    Kid's Cheese Pizza

"Grilled Chicken with Potatoes and delicious sour cream dip."

    Linguine with Clams

"When Hannah tried my linguine with clams, she said she was "so jealous" of my fabulous food. We shared my pasta and she will share her perfect cheese pizza with me for breakfast on the Magic Express bus."

"Dessert is chocolate cake, which will also be breakfast." ;)

Legs, wings and breasts for sure. I don't remember thighs, but I wasn't looking for them either

    Good morning everyone!

It's now time to recognize and congratulate the Grand Prize Winner of our January Game!!!

And so, the WINNER of a (no expense paid) trip to Disney World is...

May I have a drumroll please?

    #1 - :worship: quietgirl

quietgirl and her DGF were at Disney World from 1/4 - 1/10 and she scored 137 points with the many updates she sent us during their trip.

Here are some of my favorite pics from her updates.

    "Mural inside door..."

"For my meal, I had the pork with mashed potatoes and green beans...."

Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin style) - eight-hour slow-cooked pork with mushrooms, onions, carrots and bacon served with mashed potatoes and green beans jardiniere

"The pork was delicious, very tender. The potatoes were good, and the green beans were crunchier than I like. I prefer softer green beans, so I ate very few of those. I did clear the rest of the plate though!!"

Tuna Nicoise Salad - warm seared tuna steak with chilled green beans, potatoes, olives, roasted bell peppers, tomatoes, and hard boiled eggs

"DGF had the tuna nicoise salad, and she loved it. She enjoyed the flavor, and ate everything on her plate except a few sprouts."

"We also both used a snack credit to get a soup on the dining plan."

    "I had the potato leek,

    Potato Leek Soup

"And DGF had the French onion. I was surprised at how good these both were! My potato needed a little salt, but other than that, it was perfect! As far as the French onion, if I hadn't read it, I would never doubt it was beef based!!"

    French Onion Soup

    "DGF pleased with her spread!!"

    Cape May Cafe

    Clambake Dinner Buffet

"I had mashed potatoes, red whole potatoes, curry pork, and beef strip. The beef was fantastic, the pork was ok, and both the potatoes were good."

"DGF had cheese, olives, tomato and mozzarella, and a Caesar salad."

"And crab legs, clams and mussels."

"And between the two of us, for dessert we had lemon cheesecake with blueberry whipped creme, Boston creme pie, flourless chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake, and flan."

"As usual, as a non-seafood eater, I find Cape May kind of "eh", but DGF loves it! The beef was really good this time though, and the service was excellent!"

    Tangierine Cafe

Shawarma Platter - Chicken & Lamb Combo
served with side of Hummus, Tabouleh and a Tangierine Couscous Salad with fresh Moroccan bread

quietgirl said, "We got the combo platter, which was divine as always!! This platter is what sold me on lamb! And the hummus is yummus! Different this time tho- instead of the chicken being in slices like the lamb, and always has been in the past, tonight it was in chunks. Still delicious, just prefer the consistency of the slices."

"We explored the Morocco pavilion for a bit after that..."

    Sci-Fi Dine-In

She said, "Today was our Animal Kingdom day, and we were running a little late in the am, but we made it to the gates by 7:40. We hit some rides, walked the trails, and best of all made it over to Rafiki's Planet Watch to see some vet procedures. While there, we got to hang out with an old friend...."

    VIA NAPOLI

"DGF was hungry and ready to eat, but was used to having to wait for me to take pics..." ;)

"We got the salad to share..."

    "Family Style" House Salad
Served Exclusively with Pizza - $7 per person, minimum 2 people; leaf lettuces, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms, olives, peperonicini, red wine vinaigrette

    "I ordered the Quattro formagio..."

Quattro Formaggi - Four cheese pizza with mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone

    "And DGF ordered the sausage..."

Piccante - Italian spicy sausage pizza

    "These were both excellent!"

    And for dessert...

Gelato Frizzante - Ice Cream Soda "Italian Style"
Made with San Pellegrino's "Aranciata" and vanilla gelato

"My dessert was absolutely fantastic for lunch on a hot summer day. It was very refreshing, and I loved the flavor."

quietgirl & DGF enjoying their lunch at Via Napoli

"Via Napoli was very good, and the service was fantastic- very attentive!"

I'm totally loving all the Disneyland Paris updates!

If all goes to plan I will be sending updates tomorrow from our lunch at Chefs and dinner at Tutto Italia. I am so ready for this vacation to finally begin. I miss my daughter so much.

Om my goodness! I was not aware of this. I have always had F&W envy ;) and can't travel that time of year due to work. I will be in SW FL in April and was considering driving up to Disney for a day or two. Now I know for sure which park to hit!
    Thanks!

Yayyy! Thank you, thank you!! I had so much fun doing the live reviews, and I love seeing them on this thread! I've always wanted to do a dining trip report, but never have...thanks barb for working so hard on this thread for all of us to enjoy!
Sooo miss Disney, can't wait to get back! Thinking about getting APs, and making a trip in may- if so guaranteed I'm hitting those food booths at flower and garden, and eating a darth vader cupcake at the studios too! Hope this thread is still going strong at that point!

That's great news! Thanks so much for sharing it. :thumbsup2

Hi quietgirl! :wave2: Congrats and thanks again for doing such a great job for us last month. I'm really missing you and the rest of the outstanding January reporting team. So far in February we've only had 3 reporters send us updates out of the 8 who volunteered. The rest were all no shows? :confused3 Ah well, hopefully things will improve soon.

    :cheer2: GO FEBRUARY TEAM!!! :cheer2:

I know!! I can't ever get down there that time of year due to fall sports, so this will give me a little taste. And probably make me even more jealous come food and wine time, but oh well!! Yeah!! I'm digging that pineapple booth!
