Glad you friend's wedding came together. Did all of her guests lose their airfare
I'm sure your job interview went great!
Is this the first time you haven been away from Henry? We left our boys for 4 or 5 days Spring Break to visit my friend in Iowa and I missed them ridiculously.
We were the only guests to loose airfare because they had booked everyone else's tickets - they were going to book ours too but ours had to be different due to flying back to Minnesota after the wedding....so in all, no one lost anything-except us!
The bride and groom had travel insurance AND wedding insurance. They want to meet up with us soon and talk about what we lost - they want to help us out if they can, they feel so bad - but really, it's not their fault, I feel bad for them!!
This was the first time we were apart from Henry for more than 2 nights. I missed him, but I knew he was having an AWESOME time and actually didn't want us to come when Joe's Mom told him we were on our way.
So, all that helped. Plus, just having an entire day of ALONE TIME was beaaaaaaaaaaaaaautiful.
Yeah, I *thought* DH would do that too. When the questions started coming...not so much.
My trip was SO much fun. Food and Wine was fantastic.
Girls trip to Disney, what could be better?
Well, longer would have been better - but I'll take what I can get!
Now plotting family trip for 2012 - just need to get DH on board - which is always the challenge...
Good luck on the job and have fun at the wedding!
I am afraid that is how it will work in this house too.
So glad your trip was wonderful!!!! And I hope that 2012 works out!
Have fun with family and freinds. I didn' t realize Minnesota had snow already.
They didn't have a whole lot at the time, but enough to make Henry excited!
They recently got a blizzard though, so I'm sure it's there to stay now. We still haven't gotten anything here!
Add me to the group, I arrive on Feb. 28. My first stop on March 1st will be MK(I think).
There are going to be a ton of us down there! I gotta get my notes in order so we can all figure out when to meet up, etc. One big 'ol DIS meet would be a ton of fun!
Well, I am all caught up with your TR and I just wanted to say, you can count me in with everyone else on this thread- I am officially head-over-heels in love with Henry! He is so stinkin' CUTE! He really reminds me of the things my boys used to do when they were little...Awwww....
Very excited for you about your Mom moving to Florida, ESPECIALLY because she's going to be living near Orlando!
My MIL lives in Florida- about 7 hours away, so it doesn't work out so well.....
And WOW! You are really taking a long trip to WDW in March!!! Lucky YOU AGAIN!!!
Ellen
Awwwwww! Thanks!
It really is such a joy to watch everything through his eyes! I savor it now, I know time will fly and soon he will think things are baby rides and not get that same glimmer in his eye!
Or perhaps I have brainwashed him well.
Good luck on the job hunt!! And if you are looking for career suggestions, I had a dream about you last night, and it involved work! We were on vacation in NYC and we went into a Stride Rite because one of the boys needed new shoes. I immediately recognized you and you helped us get shoes for whichever kid needed them. As we were leaving, you took a break and we all went out to lunch together. I ordered nuggets and fries for me kids and you were horrified that I gave them such junk food.
Happy Thanksgiving!
That is HILARIOUS! Perhaps I should sell kids shoes!!!
And NO WORRIES on the nuggets and fries----we had Burger King yesterday for lunch!
i've been away from the DIS for awhile and just saw your post about the St Lucia wedding! I didn;t know they were hit by a hurricane! So sorry to hear that your trip is cancelled and hope they were able to get everything settled for a NY wedding!
Side news....are there any good websites for looking for Broadway/off broadway tickets? My cousin is a freshman at Fordham University in Manhatten and we are thinking of visiting her in Feb or March and we definately want to hit a show while we are there! THanks!
There are a few different options that I have found that are good:
1) There is a TKTS stand here, one in Times Square and one at the South Street Seaport. They have tickets up to 50% off; however, you never know exactly what they are going to have AND you have to buy them the day of-you have to wait in line. You can sometimes score a good deal, but there aren't many options.
2) Playbill.com - join the free club, you'll get their emails and it will also give you access to their discounts, which are quite good! We got 30% off Mary Poppins - and they even took more off at the door when we presented them with the coupon printed from the website!
I've also heard of people snagging a good deal just by walking up to the box office for the show they want to see and asking for a deal. I haven't done that, but always worth a shot.
Joe gets some good discounts through work - your cousin might be able to snag some deals as a student too - there are OFTEN times student discounts. Visit the website for the show you want to see and look around at discount pages - or Google it. Often it's the very front row (which is considered a bad seat, but I don't think it's that bad!), and sometimes only for matinee shows. But sometimes you can get them for $25!
