A Foodie's Honeymoon - Better Late than Never DR - Hollywood Brown Derby 10/23

Firstly, congrats on the V&A reservation!! I can't think of a more appropriate spot for a special anniversary dinner! :lovestruc

Second, I am in awe of your food pics, both for your artistry in the kitchen as well as with a camera, just amazing Rosey!

Hey Rosey. Congrats on your honeymoon! I just stumbled into this thread and am very much looking forward to hearing more. I'm going in November and some restauarants you will be visiting are the same as the ones I lined up. :)

Oh and those food pictures look amazing! I'm from Ontario too. Which city are you in if you don't mind me asking?

I know how you can travel whenever you choose! Open a bakery! I'll be your first customer!! 1 Dozen mini chocolate souffles please! ;)

Congratulations on your Disneymoon!!

Wow! Those food photos are so amazing (and I'll bet the food tastes amazing too!!). I just got a new camera and I think that your practice photos blow mine out of the water!! I can't wait to see the photos of your Disney food because I'm sure they will be just beautiful.

And congrats on the V&A reservation:cool1: I'm dying to see those photos!!

Thanks Carol! I haven't been practicing in the making food and taking pics lately since I have been sick for the past two weeks. :(

Thank you so much! I used to live in Toronto but my DH has moved me to a quiet little town near Brantford.

Congratulations on your Disneymoon!!

Thank you! I will be making the souffles again tomorrow when a dear friend visits.

Great idea! I'll be in line right behind you! :thumbsup2

lol! Get me while they are hot!

Thank you so much, Tracy! I am using a Nikon DSLR. I found that DSLRs, though clunky, are so much better in producing picture quality. Once I got my DSLR, I couldn't use a point and shoot for pictures anymore.

As for the V&A reservation, I think this will be one of the best meals of my life.

Wow! Great food pics! I should practice too! We have a Canon 7D DSLR, but I always keep it on auto setting and kinda take pics on the fly. :headache: You have beautiful skills! :)

The gravlax and shrimp crackers look like they're about to leap off the screen - with every post, your food pics whet my appetite even more. :goodvibes

I'm late but I'm totally in! Your DD is such a cutie.

You will LOVE V&A. I've eaten there twice and it is AMAZING! If you drink, try the wine pairing.

Your food pics are great!

Thank you so much. I love your food pics already. I love how practicing involves eating. ;)

Thanks, DDW! 19 more days left for me. I can't wait.

Thanks Jill! We were tempted to get the wine pairing but DH and I are not drinkers unfortunately. I am such a lightweight- it's embarrassing.

Update!

Less than 20 days left! I am extremely excited and super busy. I am making a shopping list of what I want to buy. On the top of that list is the Bakery Series Vinylmation series. I really really hope I can get the entire series and they are still available. If anyone has seen them recently, are they still there?

On the weekend we went to Toronto and ate at my dad's favorite Chinese restaurant. I got to practice taking more pics. One thing I have learned is taking more pics is better. Here are some highlights:

Fried Chicken & Prawn Crackers

That's the most beautiful Chinese food I've ever seen, and once again your pictures are gorgeous. :thumbsup2

On a side note, it's so exciting that your trip is less than 3 weeks away! Hopefully they still have the Vinylmation series you're looking for. :wizard:

Thanks, DDW. *blush* As for the Vinylmations, there were the most foodie souvenirs that I could find. I just hope they are still available.

Here is more food from the lunch!

Battered Oyster Mushrooms with Seasoned Beef

I keep telling myself I need to practice more! XD

Even though I ate a little while ago, those newest pictures now have me hungry again. Those mushrooms are so cool-looking! :goodvibes

Hi Rosey! I honestly don't think you need to practice your photography more your photos are PERFECTION!!! They truly are awesome! You may have answered this before but what type of camera do you use?

How exciting that your trip is so close!!!

Hi Rosey! Your latest food pics are wonderful, the Chinese food looks amazing! Which restaurant in Toronto is this? We may have to pay them a visit. ;)

Hooray for being two weeks away from your trip!! I share your excitement as we're 18 days away! If you're going to downtown Disney while you're at the world, be sure to check out Mickey's Pantry for foodie-type souvenirs. It's full of cool kitchen gadgets, cookware, dishes, etc. I always go a little nuts there, LOL. I'm crossing my fingers for you and hope you can find the Bakery Vinylmation series you're looking for! pixiedust:

I was secretly hoping it was battered fish when I ate it, DDW. The portions of the ten course meal was huge and there were eight of us.

Thank you so much, Brenda. I don't think I will have more practice. I have less than two weeks left and it will get pretty busy. I hope to do a little food photography post after I finally finish my dining reviews if people are interested.

I use a Nikon D5100. I used to have a Canon Rebel XT but the autofocus broke on me. I do like this camera more than my last. I have one set of lens that I bought aside from the default and it is the 50mm. I absolutely love it. I hope to save up and buy the macro and fish lens eventually.

Hi Carol! The restaurant is Sam Woo BBQ. I went to the Scarborough location. They have one in Mississauga as well. There are quite a few in California and one in Las Vegas for anyone interested stateside.

I can't wait to get into Mickey's pantry and buy a few things. I googled the pics and it will be the perfect place to pick up a few presents for mom, sis, friends, and myself. I am bringing one empty suitcase for everything I am hoping to buy, lol.

Congratulations on a belated honeymoon as well as planning an outstanding line-up of meals! Looking forward to hearing all about it. Have fun!!!:)

These are homemade Cheddar Spring Rolls.

I am down to a week left and I am so excited. I am still trying to get a 3pm reservation at Le Cellier but I have had no luck so far. This week will be tight and I will try and cram in as much food porn photography taking as possible.
