I would agree that you will see a mix. I have to say I saw a LOT more tuxes on the 10-day than I did on the normal 7-day cruises. Not sure if that was because of the holiday or because we had more formal nights and folks thought it was a better investment.

I would also agree that purchasing a tux is a good investment if you want to cruise more than twice on the 7 or more day trips with DCL. We purchased DH's tux from Men's Warehouse. Once you pay for the alterations once, you get free alterations for the life of the garment.

To answer one of the questions I saw, I suspect that we will have two formal nights and at least one semi-formal night. Could be two semi-formal nights though. We're gonna pack for two of each, just in case. For those of you who are new, the 10-day cruise was told one of each, but when we got on board, they had planned two formal nights and one semi-formal night, plus changed the days they had told us. Message is to plan for change... :flower1:

Yes, but with my DH what do you do when there is no more fabric to alter to make larger? With three entrees every night on the ship I almost had to roll him out like luggage!

Well this Bob is unsure. I do not own one and have heard horror storries about the cruise rental tuxes (not fitting, missing pieces and disney is not responsible). I figure I have 12 weeks to make up my mind.
No Scott, I don't need that size 54 tux that you are trying to unload :D
Actually, I can't imagine Scott in a tux.

My DH (Robert) and my Dad (Larry) will both be wearing suits. No tuxes for them. My mom probably will dress in very nice dresses, but nothing I would consider really too formal.

For me----sorry 10 day Holiday Cruisers-----I'll probably bring 2 of the same formal outfits I had on that cruise. A long formal dress (periwinkle in color) and a two piece black formal pant outfit (Worn on Christmas Eve).

That's about as fancy as it gets. I might pull out one of my sequined dresses, but like Scott, I don't think it fits anymore since I lost weight and I'm not willing to pay for the alterations. Maybe that calls for a clearance sale at Dillard's in the next month or so?

Linda

My DH will be wearing his tux. He bought one a while ago (either Men's Warehouse or Burlington Coat Factory...very reasonable I know) for a very formal wedding we went to...so he's more than got his money's worth out of it with the cruises. It's fun to dress up and the cruises are the only time we get to really do it. I have a couple of gowns but the formal long black skirt and a few dressy tops to go with it are easier to pack. I might bring one of the gowns if I can get the pounds off from the 10 night!!

Okay, headed home!

Everyone quit posting so much. I've got work to do and I'm still trying to keep up with our other thread! (Just kidding!)

Ok, I 'think' I have my doggies onboard. Is this pic too big for DIS reg's though? Don't know how to make it smaller! Took me all morning to get to this point!

The closest airport to the port is Long Beach but definitely has limited airlines. Orange County (SNA) is by far easier than LAX, but you might pay for it too!

Both Long Beach and Orange County airports are pretty close to D'land. HTH someone!

Have I asked this yet for this cruise?? How many Pin Traders do we have going on this cruise? Are you going to schlep a lot of pins? Rumor has it there WILL be special pins for this one... but who knows. For those familiar with trading at DL... does anyone have a schedule of their pin trading nights for 2005?? Have to decide if it's worth it to take up valuable luggage space (and weight) with the pins.

I got about 10 minutes her at home and decided ot check in here, well might get all caught up befoer the crusie.

Just a note here to say our Van if full and will runnith over with bags tee hee.

How old is Tippy? Our beagle is 10.5, but has gotten so much more spunky now that her friend is here!

Both men in our party will be in tuxes. Floor length gowns for formal nights, pantsuits or nice dresses for semi...

Beagle lovers unite!!!

We got Josie from a Beagle Rescue place here in the Tampa area. I keep wanting to go back an adopt another one since they are over crowded, but Jeff keeps saying no....

Boy aren't we all takative tonight!!! It is great!

Dad will be wearing a sport coat and tie. No way are we going to get him a new suit or a tux just for this.

I bought one dress on ebay a few months ago. I actually had picked it out at Dillards, but did not want to pay full price. So I kept looking on ebay and found it for $35!

This past weekend I found another formal full length beady thing at Dress Barn it was only $35! Great sale on some wonderful stuff. I recommend anyone to head there.

Mom has a great dress from her sister who has cruised many times. And we both have some nice semi-formal stuff we got on sale at Dillards.

I am a pin trader and there will be quite a few on board. I was planning on bringing a few pins but not the whole trader bag. And of course some to trade on lanyards. And most of all... $$$$$$$$

T-Shirts sound great! And I know that Brisully makes a mean button :) I have already begun designing my own door sign in addition to the DIS one.

WHEW!! I think I covered all the topics tonight!

Debbie

Ok, the list has been updated. Everyone, please review and make sure the info is right. If it isn't email me. As of right now, Jeff and I have a break from projects and can get a handle on this, so please do this now!!! Pretty please? With sugar on top????

Also, if you haven't sent a pciture, please send one. Jeff and I can resize it for you. We'll also leave it up on tiggerfan.net for awhile so you can access it for all those times someone wants you to email them/ show you a pic.

Lastly, if you live in Florida, especially the Tampa area, and are in need of a formal dress. I highly reccomend the Ross store in Brandon, actually any Ross but the one in Brandon seems to have the best formal selection. I've gotten my last 2 formal dresses there and never spent more than $20. Best thing was they were very packable and wearable.

Alright, I will work on the buttons tonite as best I can, if not Tursday (I'm working overtime tomorrow night, or hooker pay as we affectionally call it), then Thursday. We're off to the MouseHouse this weekend, but I will keep checking the boards and my email.

Also our tiggerfan.net emails are back up so you can always email us there, esp Jeff.

Oh, Amy (ImprovGal) and Catherine (TDC Nala), I just realized we don't have your info for the list....

Wow you guys did so much writing today! And answered all your own questions, no work left for me! :) We're definitely doing tuxes, looking to get them from the website already mentioned (cheaptux.com). As far as laundry...I'm saving all my money so somebody else can iron and wash my clothes. I'm going all out for this vacation, the last thing I plan to do is drive to the port, from there it's someone else's job!

And cute doggie pics...I notice mine are missing from my webcam. Seems the floor at grandma's house is too cold in the kitchen. Oh well. We are in sunny (but cold) WDW right now so the doggies are on vacation, too.

OK back to my vacation now... :)

YIKES! Remind me not to take anymore American Idol breaks. Too much catching up to do.

My DH always wears a tux on formal night. He did rent twice without a problem, but we realized it made more sense for him to buy one rather than to keep paying rental fees.

I don't know if he still does this, but Ducky Williams wears a kilt on formal night. He looked great!

In other words, whatever you're comfortable wearing is fine! A suit, a tux, even a kilt is okay...just no jeans or shorts please. :teeth:

Robin, driving in Fairfield County is nothing like driving to the port. If you're heading straight from the airport, it's all highway (and unlike 95, you can actually go more than 1 mile an hour. ;) )

DH is wearing his tux and I'll be wearing a long gown for one of the formal nights. I still need to find another dress (yeah...the dreaded shopping! I have no patience)!

Can someone please explain the door magnet to me? Do we each print one out with our names on it?

Thanks,
Laurie
