SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

My Dad is sponsoring our family from Aug 22nd through 28th. I can't believe how close it's getting! :cool1: We should all meet up at the pool one afternoon for an ice cold Shades of Green!

    When would you go?

I've been several different times of the year, but really enjoyed a May trip during the Flower and Garden Show. Epcot was so beautiful - even more so than it normally is. The weather was nice and the fireworks, etc were at reasonable hours that still allow you to be up early the next morning.

Please help me pick a Mod or Asmo

I was a Deluxe only girl until I tried out the French Quarter. I've stayed there with my ex-husband, with my best girlfriend, and with my Mom, aunt and grandmother. Three very different groups, but we all enjoyed the resort. The pool isn't as fancy as some of the other mods, but the resort is...

    Tour Guide Mike lately?

Yikes! I haven't used TGM in a few years, but recently recommended the site to friend. I just checked it out and the info is so outdated! He still calls Hollywood Studios D-MGM and the touring plans for it don't include Toy Story Midway Mania. Hopefully I can still get a refund and catch my...

    POFQ vs Dolphin... WWYD?

I haven't stayed at the Dolphin, but spent a week at the Swan in 2003. Since then I have stayed at POFQ 3 times with 3 very different groups of people. I think both are great choices, but for me things are all about the details and POFQ actually comes out on top. Here's why: Swolphin: The...

Magic Kingdom in one or two days?

How many days do you have for Disney/Sea World? Maybe it would be helpful to look at the websites for Sea World, MK, and AK with your daughter and talk about what she can do in each park. Her reactions to what she learns about each park may help you decide where to focus your time. Then she can...

    ridemax oe TGM

I'd been to WDW dozens of times before I tried TGM and I was still impressed with how helpful his info is. There are some great charts and tips that can really maximize your riding time and minimize your waiting time. I'm not much into waiting, so I love learning to be in the right place at the...

    more MVMCP questions

I went last year for the first time and found only a few things to be unique to the party. There are a few shows that I believe (others may correct me) are performed only at MVMCP. You really could go from one show to another and see the parades and do little else while still completely filling...

    non-Disney clip art?

Before my most recent trip to WDW, I downloaded tons of Disney images and made them into temporary tattoos to hand out to kids during the trip. The kids loved them and it was nice to be able to spread a little pixiedust! I'd like to make some dog themed temporary tattoos to give out (free) at...

Crowd levels Aug 8 and 9

Howdy Friends, A friend asked for planning advice for 2 days in WDW. She's getting one of those hotel deals in exchange for listening to a time share speel, but the date she agreed to is Aug 9. Their plan is to drive from South Carolina on Thurs Aug 8 and go to DTD for the afternoon/evening...

What to expect in December? Need help!

The decorations are mostly up even as early as mid-Nov. I went for a short trip Nov 10-14, 2007 and the Castle Dream Lights were up and the MVMCP was running, Osborne Family Lights were running, most of the decorations were up at the resorts and parks, too. Neither the story telling in the World...

DHS Question - RNR and TOT

I agree - I've even been able to squeeze in 3 rides before 9 IF: 1) Arrive early enough to be near the rope for rope drop, head toward the right hand side of the crowd to gain a little ground taking the corner onto Sunset Blvd. 2) RnR first: get FP for later and then ride. Save a few minutes...

    The 100% Original POFQ FAQ

I'm with disneyfan61 - I've read in several places not to fax anymore. Phone calls are better.

    Guests spreading Disney Magic

Last Nov I was at WDW with my mom, my grandmother, and my aunt - 4 grown women walking around in tiaras I made as a surprise for everyone! Inspired by this thread, I took lots of little things to hand out to kids during the trip. I found free clip art images of princesses and characters, crammed...

    How do I decide...

If you make it to rope drop each morning, you can squeeze in all 4 parks in 3.5 days. Did you get the planning DVD from Disney? If so, watch it with your girls to see what cranks their tractors and plan accordingly. My guess is that MK will be highest on their lists. If they are daredevils...

Autograph book or sign a t-shirt?

The autograph books are definitely the easiest, lowest maintenance choice. No muss, no fuss; just buy a book and you're set to go. The best pens are the really big fat ones - easiest for the characters to hold in their 'hands'. Some people suggest sharpies, but any big-barrelled pen will work if...

    La Nouba Reviews

I've seen La Nouba 5 or 6 times, and it never fails to give me goosebumps. I've seen O and Zumanity in Vegas and 2 of the traveling shows, and La Nouba is still my favorite. Although the traveling Corteo was a really close 2nd! The theater is small, so you feel so close to the action no...

    Pirate Cruise at POR??

I thought the Pirate Cruise was only on the Seven Seas lagoon, leaving from the GF. I just checked allearsnet and they only talk about this cruise. Anyone know of something new on the river?

    Poly, WL, or AKL?

I love the Poly, too - even the 'Disney Water' smell when you walk in the lobby! We've stayed at WL and loved it too. It's hard to beat the WOW factor of the WL lobby, and the grounds are so peaceful. Nice pool with a fun slide and great theming. The Poly grounds are just as nice, but the lobby...

    Disney with mom and 16DD

I recently went with my Mom, her sister, and my grandmother, and I have to admit I wondered how much fun it would really be. I wanted my grandmother to get lots of attention for her first trip (at age 84) so I did a bunch of stuff ahead of time that ended up being really fun. I made us custom...
