The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 2.0

I agree with many others here that it is definitely possible to get a studio at 7 months but as castle1 mentioned you want to be logged in and ready to go before 8am EST! I was able to get a studio at 7 months Thanksgiving week this way. Grand Californian is amazing!

AKV Jambo vs Kidani with young kids

I will be visiting Orlando for the 1st time as a California DVC owner. We will have 4 adults and 4 children ages 3, 3, 10, 10. We will only be staying for 2 nights in January and will not be visiting the parks at all. I would like to book a savannah view for the kids and we will make use of...

How soon can I get my membership number?

I called Member Accounting today and they were able to give me my membership number using my name, SSN, address, and phone number for verification. They then transferred me to website help and they set me up for access online. FYI my deed recorded on June 12. Brian

I am not sure where to find my contract number. I see a file number in my closing docs but I think that is internal to the closing company.

Resort with easiest access to Universal Studios

My wife wants to go visit Harry Potter in January. Can anyone recommend a resort with easy access to Universal and back driving? We will not be visiting the Disney Parks at all on this trip. I am a new DVC member and haven't stayed at any of the Orlando Resorts. Thanks. Brian

Buying dvc on Disney Cruise trip

You can go for informational purposes if you want to learn about the program. They are generally not pushy just remember their job is to sell you on dvc not present you with a 100% unbiased view. I sat through a presentation in April on the Fantasy. It took an hour, they gave me a free bottle...

It is my understanding that you cannot transfer banked points but that you can bank transferred points. Thus you will need to transfer them first then have the transferee bank them. Someone please correct me if I am wrong! This brings up a question that I have not thought of before... I...

trying to wrap my head around DVC...

Also unless Orlando is considered driving distance form the Midwest, you must be considering trading out to another timeshare. Also not a good use of DVC points.

Not drinking the cool aid on resale!!

Everything you are saying is right on assuming that one was looking to buy in to DVC at the time that the resorts were being sold originally. I did not even know that DVC existed until a couple of years ago and finally decided to buy in recently. I paid $67 per point resale as opposed to $130...
