    POFQ Pool Closing

For those of you with upcoming reservations concerned about the POFQ pool renovation, it has not started yet. It is scheduled to begin January 29. We just came back yesterday and based on what we read here before we left (and what we were told on the phone when we called to doublecheck!!!)...

Where do you get your GU?

Try www.roadrunnersports.com. A 24 pack is $25. You can buy by flavor or in a mixed batch. If you have a local running store, you can try there too. No doubt there will be vendors at the Marathon Expo at about a buck a pack.

    marathon and monorail resort

Just checked the map. CR is at mile 10. We're staying at POFQ...I was thinking I could run over in the morning to the start. But now with the monorail idea I'm reconsidering...

    Any knowledge of Fotoball pins?

Ahh...there it is. I had looked on Pin Pics too, but it didn't come up when I searched for Fotoball. Thanks for your help!

    Any knowledge of Fotoball pins?

I can't seem to find any information anywhere on a pin I just received. It's part of a Disney Fotoball series (I'm assuming it's authentic), and features Mickey Mouse next to a small (obviously!) framed bw picture of Walt Disney. It's numbered 101 of 101. I'm curious to know what year it...

    POFQ and Marathon Start

We booked at POFQ based on where we saw the marathon starting. It looks like you have to walk down and around to the startline, maybe a mile or so (based on looking at the marathon map). I didn't realize you couldn't walk straight across when I first booked, but figure this mile is a good warm...

    2005 Pricing

Well, it was a total of $451 for three nights (including tax), which seems inline with the 2004 "Value" pricing currently available on the website. We usually stay over at the Beach Club or Swan/Dolphin. We haven't stayed at PO in about 7 or 8 years so I'm not sure what the right rate...

    2005 Pricing

Well...pricing may not be out. But I did just book three nights 1/7 - 1/10 for $150/night at POFQ. I did it through Disney Sports Travel. I'll see how that rate compares to the others when they're released.

    2005 Pricing

POFQ looks like the place to be for the marathon, as it is right by the start line. As this is my first Disney Marathon, I'm not sure if runners gravitate towards staying here or are spread throughout the kingdom.

    2005 Pricing

Anyone know/hear of when 2005 rates will be released? We want to book our rooms for the Marathon. Thanks!

    Cable Beach...thoughts..tips..etc..

I haven't been to Crystal Palace, but understand that it is a taxi ride ($5 a head, from what I've read) or a $1 bus ride.

    A Non-Disney Cruise

Can't speak from experience about Princess, but we've sailed Celebrity (Galaxy, Mercury, Millenium) and all three Celebrity ships offer better food (it's fine dining, if that's your thing...) and better service. Not that there's anything wrong with Disney food or service, but we felt...

Is ATLANTIS beach FREE to public?

Anybody know what cabfare is to Cable Beach. And is there a fee to use it? Thanks!

    Marathon quesion....

The full marathon is 26.2 miles. The half is 13.1. Don't know anything about the medals, but most long races give out a "finisher" one to everybody that crosses the finish line. For more info, click here.

    Category 4

Shouldn't be any noise problems. It's basically a double door with one on each side. We never noticed anything and we booked them to be adjacent. With the doors closed, neither of us heard anything. You'll still have bunkbeds with a pulldown Murphy bed. The width of this bed is basically...

Next cruise not DCL.. Withdrawal Pains?

Nope...never suffered Disney withdrawls. In fact our next four cruises are booked on three other cruiselines. If anything we're going through Celebrity withdrawls which is why we just booked them for 2005. Every cruiseline has great things to offer. Yes, you won't find Castaway Cay or...

    Birthday pins??

My son got one in 10/02. My wife did not in 8/03. We asked, I believe the service desk, about the pin for my wife and was told to ask the Head Waiter. They bought out a cake, but that was it.

    $50 onboard credit w/Disney Visa

Have Dreams Unlimited check. We booked our August 2003 cruise 18 months in advance. We got our Disney Visa in the spring and switched the reservation over to this card and got our credits. But, that was then...this is now. Have your TA see what they can do.

    Thinking about going...

Hard to say. What was it about the first cruise that you didn't enjoy? Many aspects will be the same as your first cruise, yet there are some unique distinctions.

    Great Airfare on Spirit

I've used Spirit a few times...no frills, inexpensive, and as my travel agent described, they just quietly go about doing their business.
