For those of you with upcoming reservations concerned about the POFQ pool renovation, it has not started yet. It is scheduled to begin January 29. We just came back yesterday and based on what we read here before we left (and what we were told on the phone when we called to doublecheck!!!)...

We booked at POFQ based on where we saw the marathon starting. It looks like you have to walk down and around to the startline, maybe a mile or so (based on looking at the marathon map). I didn't realize you couldn't walk straight across when I first booked, but figure this mile is a good warm...

Well, it was a total of $451 for three nights (including tax), which seems inline with the 2004 "Value" pricing currently available on the website. We usually stay over at the Beach Club or Swan/Dolphin. We haven't stayed at PO in about 7 or 8 years so I'm not sure what the right rate...

Well...pricing may not be out. But I did just book three nights 1/7 - 1/10 for $150/night at POFQ. I did it through Disney Sports Travel. I'll see how that rate compares to the others when they're released.

POFQ looks like the place to be for the marathon, as it is right by the start line. As this is my first Disney Marathon, I'm not sure if runners gravitate towards staying here or are spread throughout the kingdom.

Anyone know/hear of when 2005 rates will be released? We want to book our rooms for the Marathon. Thanks!

I haven't been to Crystal Palace, but understand that it is a taxi ride ($5 a head, from what I've read) or a $1 bus ride.

Can't speak from experience about Princess, but we've sailed Celebrity (Galaxy, Mercury, Millenium) and all three Celebrity ships offer better food (it's fine dining, if that's your thing...) and better service. Not that there's anything wrong with Disney food or service, but we felt...

The full marathon is 26.2 miles. The half is 13.1. Don't know anything about the medals, but most long races give out a "finisher" one to everybody that crosses the finish line. For more info, click here.

My son got one in 10/02. My wife did not in 8/03. We asked, I believe the service desk, about the pin for my wife and was told to ask the Head Waiter. They bought out a cake, but that was it.

Hard to say. What was it about the first cruise that you didn't enjoy? Many aspects will be the same as your first cruise, yet there are some unique distinctions.
