Valet Parking with Tag when disabled person not with you

OP here.I apologize for not responding earlier. To be clear, I would never drive to a new location and abuse the tag. My question is really about the 24 hour rule. We always paid for valet when DBF was in good health, and will do so if necessary. (If traveling within WDW alone, I take WDW...

Valet Parking with Tag when disabled person not with you

My DBF is recently disabled to do cancer (including spinal tumors). he can walk short distances, but uses an electric wheelchair most of the time. He has a handicap parking hag tag from our state/doctor. When we were at Boardwalk in October, we received free valet parking; however I never left...

What is the worst condition you have been in but still went to work/school

More emotional than physical... DBF was taken to ER at 3 am or so on a Thursday morning. A metastatic spinal tumor was discovered, and emergency surgery was performed from 7 pm-midnight...I was at work 1.5 hours away on Friday morning.

Live Every Moment--10 Days in Disney

Our plans thus far.... Initially we booked our trip Thursday, Feb. 9-Sunday, Feb. 19. And then this week I went to book our flights...and it was significantly cheaper to arrive on Feb. 8 and leave on Feb. 18. Duet to DBFs pain issues, it's easiest to book first class if we can afford it. We...

Live Every Moment--10 Days in Disney

About a year and a half ago, the love of my life, was diagnosed with cancer (multiple myeloma) after months of misdiagnosis. The diagnosis came after a 3 am ambulance trip to the emergency room followed by emergency surgery to remove a spinal tumor. (One of his vertebrae had to be replaced...

    First trip after Cancer Diagnosis

Oh yes!!! I think we will still get him a wheelchair as opposed to an ECV, as he is more comfortable with it. I think the only question will be if we bring both the cane and the walker, and that will depend on how much progress he makes between now and then. I suspect we'll bring both even if...

    First trip after Cancer Diagnosis

Thank you for all the replies. He was initially paralyzed from the tumor, but gained some feeling back upon it's removal...and continues to improve. He went back to work part time 3 weeks ago and we have seen a lot of physical progress since then because he is forced to be more independent...

    First trip after Cancer Diagnosis

My love was diagnosed with an agressive multiple myeloma last May after a spinal tumor paralyzed him. It's been a long road, but we are hoping for a trip to WDW at the end of February. He has responded surprisingly well to chemo, though we are expecting him to need a stem cell transplant in...

    V&A, anyone?

I am a big foodie. i won't take by significant other to a restaurant if there isn't steak (filet or new york Strip), pasta w/meat sauce, fajitas, or a burger on the menu. He may eat something else, but it's unlikely. Luckily, my best friend and his wife enjoy taking me along on their foodie...

Solo trip to V&A, or, other options?

I am a foodie, my boyfriend is not. While I would prefer to have an amazing dinner with my favorite person, or any good friends, i would not hesitate going alone if the timing/financial situation allowed it. i disagree with the previous poster who says it would be a complete waste of a...

Why does everyone love the Ohana breakfast?

My DBF is very basic, so he loves the food. I love Lilo and Stitch, so there is something for both of us. Also, many of the breakfast meals are buffets. I prefer family style to a buffet.

Have you been to Jiko Recently?

I heading to Jiko in a few weeks. It's my favorite, and I've been there many times, but it looks like they recently changed one of my favorite items. The beef bootie roll is now then Crispy Duck "Bobotie" Roll. Wondering if anyone has had both and how they compare? (I don't dislike duck...

Wishes FP = the best FP!!

Very excited to have a Wishes FP and MSEP FP in a few weeks! I had read the pros and cons before, but this has solidified it as a good decision for me. I have never seen Wishes from inside the Park and never seen MSEP at all...now because of FP I feel it's a good time to see it without...

A Long Time to Grow Young! An Epic 40th Bday trip! Update 9/7!

We interrupt the day by days to give a "How i'm prepping" update! The trip is just a couple of weeks away, and my work and personal life is a little crazy over the next few weeks. So, I started to pack in earnest today. I’d been throwing things in the suitcase for a while, but not putting a...
