We will be going there May 11-17 from Summerland, BC. The refurbs are a bummer but what can we do. This will be the first trip with the kids and they will still enjoy it. Looking forward to it.
My wife and I went to DLR for our 10th anniversary in 2011. I had proposed to her there and we both love DLR. We also did a few days in Vegas during that trip. Our daughters were 2 and 4 at the time and we did not feel any guilt not bringing them.We did not try to hide it from them that we were...
My wife and I did a similar trip a few years ago. We flew into LAX, spent 3 days in DLR, drove to Vegas and spent 3 days there. It was pretty cool to have breakfast in Disneyland park and dinner in Vegas the same day.
We opted to rent a car and travel between Anaheim and Vegas rather than...
Even if I could afford the extra cost of staying onsite at DLR, I don't think I could ever do it. For me I just would not get another $500 value out of the trip. We're also the type of people who don't really care if the hotel looks fancy or has the "disney" feeling. It just has to be clean and...
We just booked our May trip also (May 11-17). We will be staying at the Camelot. What's really exciting is that it will be our first time with our kids. Totally different experience. :)
We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in 2010 and it was decent. I believe its even a closer walk than the PPH. In 2014 we will be staying at the Carousel Inn since it had a suite that suited us perfectly.
My family (Me, wife, 2 girls, and my parents) is making a trip to DL next year and we are trying to find a suite with 3 sleeping areas and 2 bathrooms. Does this exist? The only 3-bedroom suites I have seen have 1 bathroom yet I have seen some 2 bedroom suites with 2 bathrooms.
We'd like the...
It's definately difficult doing a vacation with other people as we all have a different definition of how we spend our time on vacation. I guarantee that if it was you, me and my wife, you would not have been disappointed. We do it all!
You are right, it does feel like a longer more tiring drive home. There's a lot less excitement going home to keep everyone motivated. Not as fun when the destination is coming home to work/school/yardwork/etc. Also people are tired from a trip like DL due to all the walking and staying up late.
I've done the drive from Vancouver, BC down I5 3 times. From Portland, I would split it up into 2 days. This way there is no panic to get there and you can enjoy the drive more. Making it 2 days will give you the opportunity to stop once in a while and not rush your meals. Somewhere near...
I have visied DL in late August a couple times (1999 and 2011) and the crowds were managable with 15 to 20 min lineups on average. We were not there on a weekend though. Both trips we hit the parks on weekdays.
The ads in the early/mid 80's that showed BTMRR. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. My first trip to DL was in 1989 with the family when I was 12. Splash Mountain was new and I remember waiting 1.5 hours to ride it.
I still remember the feeling of "awe" I had when I walked through the...
