I LOVE surprising my kids, but learned the hard way that I should not expect utter joy the first 24 hours if done at the airport/ dock. 2 of my children need to control details when out of their elements, and letting them pack has helped on subsequent trips! Alaska will be beautiful! Good luck...

I am allergic to smoke, and have had asthma attacks from being in close proximity to people that smoke-- just from the residual on their clothes and hair. We have never booked a verandah because I did not want to risk an attack on vacation... glad that this will now be an option in the future!
