I would recommend either skipping the character meal all together, or booking a character breakfast. I'm sure toast and jam would be available, so at least he would eat something. Usually breakfast is a little cheaper, too.

We've found better luck booking through David's Vacation Club Rentals. For our upcoming trip we booked a one bedroom villa through David's and it was much cheaper than 2 individual rooms at a value resort.

Even though the 13 year old may be responsible, I don't think I would leave him in charge of that many children. I would most likely take the twins to the kids club, and leave the 13 year old with just the little ones in the hotel room.

Another suggestion... Downtown Disney has a Character's in Flight balloon ride. I think it takes you up 400 ft in the air and it's relatively inexpensive. You could go up, just the two of you, then pop the question! :)

The characters at 1900 Park Fare are Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella. There are more princesses at Akershus (including Belle), but it's a very crowded and noisy place...not great for a proposal in my opinion. Have you thought about dinner at Les Chefs? No...
