    2013 Free Dining Watch

Thanks so much for the info, disneyfantotheend! Hope that's true and they don't change that practice. This is my first booking, and already I stress at the idea of having to change things around!:crazy2:

    2013 Free Dining Watch

Been waiting like everyone else to see when free dining will be, but as a newbie I may not be understanding something. My dates right now are Jan. 30-Feb. 6. Was ready to change dates if need be to get free dining for the whole trip, because I noticed sometimes early Feb. dates aren't included...

    Water parks in January?

Not sure where to post. Have first trip booked in Jan. with Water Park Fun and More Option. After reading more on winter temp changes I'm having second thoughts.:confused3 Would probably go to water park just once - twice at most. Just read in Unofficial Guide you can buy single-day water park...

Second week of December-pools & crowds

We're looking at late January - would we be crazy to spring for water park option, based on what folks are saying here about pool time in winter? Probably would go one or two days at most to water park.

Ladies, what did you learn from first trip?

I know newbies have to experience things for themselves, but I'm hoping to learn and avoid some heartaches from ladies who have their first family trip behind them. As your first visit came to a close, what things struck you right away that you would do differently? I'm talking packing, meals...

    Anyone tried the Pocket Chair?

I had never read where Disney bans folding chairs - but of course the DISers know and that's why I asked. It make sense why they would. I did have doubts about how it might work, even though it's small enough to fit in your pocket. It would be a lot of shuffling and up and down. Thanks again for...

    Anyone tried the Pocket Chair?

Newbie here. Standing in line gives me back pain (I'm sure I'm in good company), and I pondered getting a Pocket Chair for Disney. Anyone ever tried these, or have thoughts on whether it would work? TIA for your help!:flower3:

    Waffling on water issue!

I've reads lots on here about the Disney water situation - price of bottled water, icky tap water, free ice water, etc., and have concluded that I'd probably still prefer to have some bottled water shipped to our resort. Can anyone tell me what places will ship water to resorts, what they...

    Reassure a first-timer on ADRs?

I'm approaching my ADR window, and as I try to plan what parks on what days (come on, EMHs!) and when we might like to eat, I feel overwhelmed. I'm thinking, how can I know when we'll be hungry or if we'll be too exhausted to eat? I have a 5-year-old, so we do plan on taking breaks midday. But...

    POR alligator bayou

Preferred rooms are $25 more per night. But that's what we booked because I was nervous about having to truck from the furthest building to the food courts, etc.:thumbsup2

Port Orleans Riverside FAQ thread --- 2012, Part Two --- NOW CLOSED

I saw the great post that mentioned bed rails would fit on the murphy bed, but I wondered, does Disney provide bed rails or do you bring your own? Does anyone think a chair or two against it would work? I apologize if this was asked before. TIA:thumbsup2

    Walk me through booking process?

This may sound weird, but we may move our trip up a few months and I have to be prepared soon (June?) to book a package for Jan. I'd like to book by phone so I can ask questions. Could someone kind of role play with me what the CMs will ask while I am making my reservation? Will they break down...

Disney trip insurance...is it worth it?

I've not done the research on this yet (the DIS usually answers my questions first!!), but it sounds like Disney charges between $60 and $100 per adult. Any idea how that compares with other companies like insuremytrip.com? And would this insurance extend to flights if you booked them with your...

Do you bring things to occupy your kids while in line?

Lots of great ideas! I remember reading on here before about suggestions for riding in the car with kids that may apply in lines, too, and you can start them while you're still at home. If your kids have a tendency to squabble, try to "catch" them being good and reward them to encourage the...

Quite possibly the silliest newbie question ever... (re: entering Disney)

If you're staying on-site and taking a shuttle, say to MK, do they drop you where you still need to take a ferry or monorail, or do you skip that?

    Before you leave checklist??

I'll bet it's on here somewhere, but for a newbie, do some of you have good checklists for tasks to complete before you go to Disney World?:hourglass I know there are great packing lists, but I'm thinking of a list of things to do once you book your trip, what to do a month before you go, two...

If you're extremely organized and have a "plan" for packing for your trip....

Love all the ideas here for what seems like a daunting task.popcorn:: I almost know I will overpack, and I know despite my best efforts, the house will not be in order before we go.:sad2: Now if I could just hire one of you ladies to pack for me!!!:teacher: I don't leave for a year, and I...

    Predicting free dining offers?

The PP shows package rates for 2013 with free dining in parts of April, but how do they know so early? Thought most discounts weren't released until later. Also, does anyone know if packages for UK parallel packages for US residents?

    Predicting free dining offers?

I went by a list another great poster gave me that came from mousesavers.com. Here's the address: http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html. It lists when they typically post the room-only discounts, package discounts, and free dining. Hope it helps!
