    Dining Central -- January

I'll be there January 19-26 by myself. Saturday to Saturday. I'd like to do California Grille one night and watch the MK fireworks. I'd also like to do Illuminations from World Showcase. Either evening would be a good one to share a meal with a fellow DIS'er. As the dates get closer...

I'm still going to try to go tomorrow UPDATED - Moved out a week

I all but forgot this was the weekend that you were going. I wish you luck in enjoying yourself. I know that I'd do the same thing you're doing. There's comfort in getting back to normalcy, so it's probably a good thing that you're moving on with your plans. Have a good time, and bring us...

As a solo traveller, what do you carry into the park?

Hi Ray- I'm a sidekick person, too! I got one for the same reason you did. They're long enough to carry the park maps without mutilating them. I always put it in the front unzippered pocket (like you've suggested) and it works great. You can pull it out and put it up without a hitch...

    Priority Seating for One?!?

Anybody feel self-conscious making PS's for one? I'm going in January, 2002. Since it's "value season", do you think PS's will be needed 60 or 90 or 120 days ahead? The one place I'd like to try on this solo trip is the California Grille for the MK fireworks. Think I'll need to call months...

    what do you think...

Joline- My situation is a bit different. My ex always talked of going on vacations (especially to WDW), but never acted on any of them. This certainly isn't the only reason he's my ex now, but it's part of it. It's been well over 1-1/2 years since our split and a full year since our...

    Just found this board!

I suspect it's easy to fear the worst about being alone at Disney. But think back about going to places by yourself that are more geared for "groups". Like, for instance, going to the mall. Sure, it's fun to go with others and window shop and have coffee while you chat and watch the crowds go...

anybody else having trouble with Milesource??

I just hit the "back" arrow and then the "Milesource credit" message comes up and I get the point(s). I've had to hit the back arrow more than once sometimes, and it slows the whole process down, but it does work this way. Hope this helps!

    The Name Change

Divorce is never easy for anyone. It's been well over a year since our separation and divorce. I've most recently moved across the country and left him, his last name, and that part of my life behind. I'm happy and feeling surprizingly emotionally healthy. I know I'll have a great time at...

    The Name Change

Good suggestion about seeing guest services and straightening it out after I pass the finger scan. Hate to do it, but I think I'm gonna go ahead and take my court papers with me to Florida. I'd hate to fly all the way down there and not be able to use my AP and have to buy another pass of some...

    The Name Change

I suspect it will become completely obvious by the end of this message why I like hanging out on the "solos" board, as opposed to the "family" board. When I was in WDW last April, I bought my AP under the name of "Brown". Since then, I have finally legally changed my name back to my maiden...

What are those Dining Central threads up there???

Good post, Bob! You sound like a professional moderator for this board! Take that as a compliment, too. I'll be anxious to see the January, 2002 Dining Central Thread in a while. No need (in my book) to start planning meal times now that I'll be eating next year. Hope other "soloists"...

    Great new board, introduce yourselves...

I'm 38 years old, single, and live in Northern California. I just moved here two months ago from the Gulf Coast and it was the smartest move I've ever made...except for the cost of living out here. But hey, after you've been to WDW, who thinks about the cost of anything? It's all relative...

Just wanted to throw in my two cents...

I think the addition of this board was a great idea. It's now usually one of the first that I scan through when I come to the discussion boards! Just thought I'd add this comment as an additional post so moderators would know that more people than just those making regular posts here are...

    Year 2002 Adults/Solos

Just got off the phone two hours ago with CRO. Booked my first solo trip for January 19 thru 24, 2002. Over MLK birthday. Will stay at All Stars. Of course I'm doing this because I bought an AP in March, 2001 to get a reduced moderates rate for my April, 2001 trip. Now I don't want the AP...

Need Help Doing Breakfasts-On-The-Go with Kids!

I'm taking my 14 year old nephew and 11 year old niece next week. I'm their sweet Aunt who has no children. Here's my question. We're staying on site. We'd like to do breakfast on the go so we don't have to waste precious morning time. Other than fruit, granola bars, and bagels, what's good...
