***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

@Candycane83 Honestly, I'm not sure about that, but that show should capture his attention. I would ask about a possible early exit when you enter the theater.

Thanks! I'll probably ask and make sure I sit on the end of a section :) I hope we could just in case. Squirmy two years old are a little hard to deal with. Hopefully I would probably see how he does with F! before attempting this the next day.

I'm sure you wouldn't be the first family to potentially need to leave a show at Disney ;) There are most likely exits you can use if the kids are just not into it, if you sit on the end of the row it shouldn't bother people if you need to slip out :)

Just checking in from a lonnnngggggg day! DD1 had school, we had a couple contractors out to give us estimates for our kitchen remodel. The joys of home ownership.

Kids are in bed and I'm oogling over the disney food blog!

Wondering if early December is going to be unusually crowded this year. Moving to Disney property on 12/7 after a work conference in Orlando -- and while I booked my hotel reservations (Poly -- but barely got in, seems sold-out) and some dining plans in July, it appears like everything is pretty booked up. No opportunity for me for holiday promotions -- paying full rack rate on Poly which is fine. Perhaps there will be a mass shedding of hotel and dining once we get the point of people actually needing to pay balances (or people who hoard ADR's figuring out what they will do closer to arrival) but I'm not sure how optimistic I should be about the possibility of changing up my ADR's to better times and more desirable places. I am using TP but am too busy during the day to constantly check the website for cancellations.

Good morning all!!! I haven't had a chance to catch up with all of the posts yet, so I hope I haven't missed anything.

I did book my flights this morning. I'm probably over-paying a little, but I really like to pick my seats and was getting stressed over not booking it already! Now my DSis in TX is going to drive me nuts by not booking hers. We're planning to meet up at the airport.

It's me (EARLY 40's), my sister (late 30's), and our nephew (10). He and my other sister/BIL live near me and they are staying home. The aunts like to spoil him. All of us went to Orlando in November 2014 for WDW, Uni, and LegoLand. With only 2 days at WDW, my nephew spent ~7 hours in AK, ~3 hours in FutureWorld, ~4 hours in HS, and ~8 hours in MK (including MVMCP - but we were exhausted). Although he would love to go back to Uni, we're making the most out of discount tickets that I can get for WDW (e.g., buy 3 days get 2 free or something like that).

We will be staying off-site and have a rental car.

I'm definitely not a WDW expert, however I started planning my trip in May and picked this week due to the low crowd forecasts. At the 180 day mark, I thought there were a lot of ADRs already fully booked and saw a lot of postings on message boards about availability being very limited. Others were guessing that Disney may not have been releasing all of the reservations and making them available to book. If you check around to the various sites, the first two weeks of December are still recommended "low crowds" weeks. But as many people post, there is no "slow" time at WDW.

my only comment is that 12/4 is a very long day followed by a very early morning. you will be at the MK for over 16 hours straight til midnight then have to drive back to hotel and get up in 6 hours or so and drive back over for a very early breakfast. I have a couple of early/late days planned but with breaks in them and breaks the next morning after the late nights. At least toward the end of your trip you slow down a little bit (or have room to).

I'll be at AK on saturday too and it is AM extra magic hours so will be there at 8am but not for anything special. we'll probably in dinoland riding those rides over and over :) Monday is my long epcot day as well with CP planned.

I think that the actual capacity of the park is not really tied to the capacity of onsite guests. The disney hotels could be completely full but it is only a fraction of capacity at the parks and the reason some times of year (summer, spring break, christmas, thanksgiving) the parks are so full is that all of the off site hotels are full as well. I think it may be a bit busier than past but I don't think the offsite hotels are anywhere near as full as the onsite ones are.

Also I agree that parks are just a lot more full in the "off season" in general. Took kiddo in 2014 during what I expected to be a very light time in September and the place was packed. I couldn't believe it. Still with FP+ it was entirely manageable, we did everything with no more than 15-20 minute waits. I am kind of expecting it to be the same.

THis is such exciting news!!! I'm being selfish right now, but I want to ask. Which days was EMM available for HS for August? Was it always Saturday? I'm hoping the MK EMM days will still be Sun and Tues. But, I guess they could always change it. I am thinking, though, that they wouldn't do EMM on the same day for both HS an MK, so I'm thinking I'm at least safe for MK EMM not being on Saturday. (we fly in Sat and leave on a sat :( )

@Maryemcd did you try to call?

No - I didn't have time to call... but at some point EMM became available to book in HS. I checked this morning and the 3rd let's me pick 3 people. I had finalized that as my AK day so didn't book it :-(

HS EMM had been Mondays and Wednesdays, but August (I think that's when it started) but then they cancelled Wednesdays in September (not enough people purchasing???). Now Saturdays through December - at least as of 7:40 am today!

Oh for crying out loud. My h&v breakfast now has no value. I wonder if I should switch? Trying to remember how much h&v breakfast is. The emm is 69 aduldts ? For kids?

I don't know though... early reports of HS EMM were that there were only 30 or 40 people at it. I assume that's why it went from Monday/Wednesday to only Monday. Might change if they are settling on Saturday for the next few months. If your kids are in to the Disney Jr. you may want to go ahead and keep the H&V.

Just in case anyone is thinking of doing the EMM at DHS in December it's now bookable (the calendar was there yesterday but they weren't available when I tried to book.) This morning they were available and I was able to get reservations for the day I was hoping for. Now they just need to add the dessert parties for early December (SW and Illuminations) and I'll be set.

I know with EMM you can do a lot in a small amount of time but I wonder now how much you can do during AM EMH... I know the numbers are very different (30-40 vs a few hundred??)... Anyone has experience with how busy it is or how much you can do during AM EMH?

YES! I totally agree about the really long day followed by an early morning. I can still change that around a little, but I guess I really need to wait to find out about MK EMM. May be switching everything again when SW Dessert Party is announced :badpc:

I think 12/4 looks like a very very long day, especially adding the EMM. (We're hoping for the same one)

12/3 is also our AK day!!! And hopefully SW dessert party that night with some of the great people on this thread

I think you can get alot done if you have a plan. Maybe not riding this G's multiple times but certainly getting in a few rides with low crowds. :)
