***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Ok, just booked a PPO BOG for our last day of the trip (thanks again, @Mal6586 )....what do I need to know about it? I've never done a PPO before so don't know all the tips, but I'd love to get in early and get some pics without the crowds if possible!
From what I can tell this is what you need to know:
disney can change their hours at any time so it may no longer be PPO
I think there is a dedicated entry, you need to have your name on the PPO ADR list
I believe they will let you in 15 minutes before so you need to show up... half hour early? to get through bag check and line etc. someone else will confirm.

@areno79 from my understanding, whatever time your reservation is, it doesn't matter, you can get in by 7:45am. I would say be there at that time and take your time strolling in, take pics of a near empty Main Street. :D

I'd have to go back and check, but I think Touring Plans is saying December 6th is the second or third least crowded night for all of this year's MVMCP dates. I booked the Wishes Dessert party for MVMCP on the 4th and we're going to wing it on the 6th.
Touring plan's blog lists what dates sold out last year and how far in advance they did. in 2015 that tuesday sold out. my thursday 12/8 equivalent in 2013 sold out. it's just a guess though. most of them don't sell out until one day before so you won't really know. 12/6 is ranked 4th for lowest wait times and 12/8 is ranked 10th (right in the middle). the closer to xmas you get the more sellouts there are. All of the fridays sell out typically. last party of the year is the WORST time to go, we're all outta there by then!

So I have a silly question... if you ride the train in MK or AK, what do you do with your stroller? Fold it up and take it with you right? My son loves cars and trains right now (Tomorrowland speedway may be where we will camp... :P) and I'm thinking this would be a must do even just once...

I love the train, we always do it. if you take it ALL the way around you can leave it in stroller parking (frontierland is a good place to do this, the parking is nearby. I would not get it at main street station as there is no stroller parking anywhere there). If you want to get on and get off next stop you have to fold it up and drag it into your bench with you.

Oh, that's a good idea, we might just make a full round then! :) Maybe even more if DS falls asleep! LOL :)

fantasyland might be a better place for you. it is near the little kiddie rides like dumbo and barnstormer. We are always going on splash and BTMRR and it makes a good time filler between FP+s if I can't get them right back to back

Yup. I can see most of our time at Fantasyland... and maybe tomorrowland... I'm looking into how to tour the different parks now but it seems a little hard trying to figure out how much time everything will take...

just in my experience, I'd FP peter pan, pooh, tomorrowland speedway (I never see this mentioned but this is a HUGE hit for little kids if your little guy is at least 32" and I think you said he was on the border for some rides where he needs to be even taller), maybe buzz (you guys can do that and he might like all of the bright colors). Then you can do standby for things like the peoplemover, small world, dumbo (this used to have heinous lines but they added a second whole ride AND there is a great playground in the middle of the queue too! it's awesome, it's indoors and climate controlled and you can hang there as long as you want and then rejoin the line), carousel. Barnstormer is a great little roller coaster for littles if you think he might like it (and you might want to FP that). I think it is the last vestige of toon town (we didn't do it because we did the bigger coasters). basically park your stroller in fantasyland and then walk around there.

I will tell you that the astro orbiter in tomorrowland is terrifying. I would not take my child on that thing. I know there has never been an accident but i have a vivid memory of being on it during a night extra magic hours (so very late) and they weren't checking people's belts, just being lazy and starting it up very quickly after people hopped on (park was almost empty at like 1am) and i got in, sat down, decided against it and started to get out and the thing started. I got myself in and belted before it went too far but it terrified me. I am afraid of heights and that one feels the LEAST secure of all of those types of rides. On the other hand I love the magic carpets of aladdin, which is also another "dumbo" type ride but it's a lot of fun, the seats feel very secure and it's not so high up off the ground. take that for what it's worth. Due to my already irrational fear of heights I basically can't ever make myself go up there again.

also haunted mansion, pirates, and jungle cruise are all good with little ones too. he is too little to get why HM is "scary" so unless he is scared of the dark if you make it all funny he should like it.

my $0.02

from the rumor roundup RE Rivers of Light

Animal Kingdom
Rivers of Light is said to open before the end of the year with most rumors pointing to September. I have heard many issues they had with the show have been resolved for now. You can expect that Disney won’t announce an opening date until they are absolutely sure. It was also announced that Jungle Book: Alive with Magic will officially end September 5th, 2016, though it might not be until October or November until we see Rivers of Light officially open.

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I do have Tomorrowland speedway listed for FP, along with the rest you mentioned. I thought about the astro orbiter but thanks for that tip! Either I will have my little one tightly strapped in with me or just skip altogether. Basically, I'll do everything without a height requirement except barnstormer. He's already at 35 inches (from last doctor's visit) We'll probably try that early in the trip so if he likes it, we can go again... but if he doesn't then it's a one and done :) I'm still hoping he makes it for 7DMT but it seems too hopeful he would reach 38 inches. From what I'm hearing, the ride is much smoother than barnstormer.

MK is the easiest one to plan since there is so much to do there. I'm having a little trouble with AK... I have the safari and character outpost for FPs but can't find a third one. We won't be doing too many shows so I'm a little hesitant to book any. Maybe flights of wonder... hmm...

DHS, I have TSMM, Frozen ever After and Mickey and Minnie red carpet meet and greet. EPCOT has a few too but I'm worried about Tier 1 since it's either FEA or Illuminations only! (for us anyway...) A lot to think about....

really hoping they get this done but I doubt they will announce anything until it is already open! LOL

you don't need a FP+ for flights of wonder but it is a great show. We took kiddo when he was 6 months old and my ex volunteered for that show and ended up being chosen. I have some cute pics. Also the character interaction was great in AK, I think shorter lines too. I have a pic of him grabbing onto mickey's nose and then laughing hysterically a frame later.

Triceratops spin is another dumbo ride in AK. Also highly recommend festival of the lion king. Lots of great music, HUGE animal puppets (think life size elephants etc) and acrobatics and music. My kiddo was not so into shows at all last time (couldn't really pay attention that long) and was enthralled and it is on his requested list to do again.

AK has EMH the morning we are going so we are going to make a beeline to dinoland and let the kid ride those rides (dinosaur, triceratops spin, primeval whirl) as much as he wants for 45 minutes or so then we'll go to the safari and use a 9am FP+ and then right after that go to our TH 9:45 breakfast.

***** ALERT *****

Early Morning Magic is showing for SATURDAYS through December in Hollywood Studios!! I tried to pick December 3rd, but said no availability so I don't think they are fully available to book.
THis is such exciting news!!! I'm being selfish right now, but I want to ask. Which days was EMM available for HS for August? Was it always Saturday? I'm hoping the MK EMM days will still be Sun and Tues. But, I guess they could always change it. I am thinking, though, that they wouldn't do EMM on the same day for both HS an MK, so I'm thinking I'm at least safe for MK EMM not being on Saturday. (we fly in Sat and leave on a sat :( )

@Maryemcd did you try to call?

it looks like they were mondays and wednesdays in august, mondays only in september and now Saturdays going from october through mid december. nothing around the holidays. that is for hollywood studios.

if they do early morning magic on thursdays in the MK I might be able to make it work. hmmmm. it does seem like they are changing the dates around for HS but who knows if MK will follow suit.

Right now at HS it is the day before AM extra morning hours. AM extra morning hours at MK are Friday. Thursday is our party day though. would be a long day with that and party but we'd take a long break in between. I would not cry over giving up boma breakfast for that though. At MK in September some weeks are Tuesday only, busier weeks are sunday and tuesday. So if they go down to one day a week it will PROBABLY be sunday but who knows really :) I doubt it would be Monday, Wednesday or Saturday in the MK since they are offering it on party days only (also morning extra magic hours are on party days only - evening are of course on non party). So I would say it would be sunday, tuesday or add in some combo of thursday and friday IF they change it up (big if). Just my guess looking at patterns @rasadkowski

also hoping just a bit that these being scheduled means fireworks and dessert parties are not far behind at HS.

Oh for crying out loud. My h&v breakfast now has no value. I wonder if I should switch? Trying to remember how much h&v breakfast is. The emm is 69 aduldts ? For kids?
It is really frustrating :( but I'm glad they're releasing the EMM dates!! I say go for it :)

Also if emm at mk happens on Sundays I have no value for my bog ppo breakfast. Does anyone know how emm has affected jedi training sign up at hs?
