October 27, 2017... Wonder EBPC!

HI everyone! We are in the process of booking our cruise now. We will be traveling with my mom, and our 2 kids (they'll be 6 & 9). I'm SO excited for this cruise! This is only our 2nd Disney cruise - we went on the wonder out of Miami in February. I've been talking about this cruise since we were on that one. I'm trying to talk my brother and his wife and baby, and my best friend and her family into coming. Hopefully they'll all come!

Good Morning Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been around. It's been a hectic summer! My folks are selling the house near Cleveland and moving permanently to Cape Coral, FL. Been back and forth to the house a few times to collect things to furnish our oldest new apartment this fall. Our youngest, Connor, and I will be flying to FL on Thursday to help unload the Pod. At least my sister and her DH were there to help load in Cleveland.

CShaw, which Hawaii cruise were you on? We were on the first one leaving out of Vancouver. It was a WONDERFUL cruise! Even with all the sea days, we never felt bored! I am hoping this one is the same!

We too, are looking to do a few days pre-cruise at Disneyland. I need to do some research on that!

If I don't get back over here, everyone have a safe, fun, and enjoyable Independence Day!!!

and :welcome: to all the new folks!!

See ya' real soon!! 482 days, to be exact!

Hi Michelle!

My DH and I were on the first cruise leaving out of Vancouver as well! Yes, it definitely was a WONDERFUL cruise and one of the best ones. The sea days were the best, which is making me look forward to this one even more. :)

Definitely sounds like you've had a hectic summer so far. If nothing else, time will fly bringing this cruise even closer.

Maybe we can share some planning tips for Disneyland? I feel completely lost about it right now.

Happy 4th of July!

Hi everyone! Excited about cruising through the canal! If no one has volunteered to organize FE, I'd be more than happy to organize for this cruise.

Thanks Bobbi

Official Trick or Treat Post (post # 32)
Please provide your: Stateroom #, DISname, & How Many passengers in SR (adults children)

I will organize by Deck to make it easier:

Deck 8
SR #: 8534, Belac...................2(A) 1(DS, 10yo)
SR #: 7046, christineD186......4(A)
SR #: 6590, Bobbiwoz.............2(A)
SR #: 5009, Dennisbryce........2(A) 1(DD, 9yo)
SR #: 5001, Ksinglet..............2(A) 2(C) (DD - 13, DS - 6)

How will this go?
Will each group start at a different cabin so that there is a sort of rotation?
Will there be certain times?

Just wondering. So I know if I join in or no.

ThAnkyou.

Really good question. I was thinking rotational. Say group Mickey from 3-4 PM a and group Pluto from 4-5 or something along those lines. I remember when I was little all the moms came while dads handed out candy. That may not work here since who would ever volunteer to miss T or T on a disney ship. The worst thing for me , when I was a kid, was no one home

What about smaller groups each starting on a different deck.
Or
Something like a treasure map everyone start at one place and each map is just a little different. And end up at one place at the end.

I got what u mean. Like if there are kiddos in each room. What parent stays back to hand out candy.

Would be nice for people to volunteer that do not have kiddos.

Will this be on a sea day
Halloween day?

Should the people that hand out be dressed up?

RE: Trick or Treat

I'm not much for setting rules whilst on vacation, but it will be guided tho. So as people join the decks or groups will have to figured out, but
I prefer to do so on Halloween as it may be easier for costuming purposes and I think Halloween 2017 lands on a sea day giving ample time to run around the ship, and as in the past DCL may have some trick or treat events on different decks or main lobby. They had a mouse-quarade (sp?) for kids and costume contest for adults in the evening, per their 2015 navigators.
That mouse-quarade was before and after lunch (11:30-12:15 and again at 2:00- 2:45). Most may not want to miss that.

The past navigators show Bingo as the only big event draw that afternoon and my thinking is they they have Bingo every day and those that want to partake in Bingo that day can choose to to do so and go to Trick or Treat at the other time slot (and hopefully they will return the favor and someone in their party is home to open the cabin door and hand out candy). So, I think between 3-5 is best time also because main dinner seating at 5:15.

Now depending how many we get we can do 1/2 hour slots or hour slots. If it is smaller groups 1/2 hour will be enough to run by a deck or so. Staterooms are on decks 1&2, 6, 7 & 8. Since there are only a few on Deck 1 (and most reserved for entertainment) I think they would be grouped together as Decks 1-2. So we can do 2 decks per group or something - again totally dependent on how many people we get.

Parents Note if we are all OK with somewhere between 3 pm and 5 pm on Oct. 31, 2017 for trick or treat:
1. be aware that dinner is right after so confiscate the candy bag and
2. use it to bribe the kiddos to eat their veggies at dinner - LOL

As far as costumes, I see that as a personal choice - so go for it if you are game, if not no worries.

A treasure hunt could be done but would take a lot more than a 1/2 - 1 hour and
personally I think kiddos like to knock on doors but, if the majority want a hunt in lieu of door to door then it is OK too.
However a treasure hunt could be its own event at another time or day.
Thoughts?

DH and I will definitely plan to be " home" to give out treats!

Hi all, hope everyone is well. I know it seems so far away now but i'm already thinking ahead and trying to plan! :thumbsup2

So quick question for you seasoned west coast cruisers. Do Disney do transfers from LA to San Diego? And if not, how are people planning on getting from LA to San Diego? Coming from the UK it seems the most logical option to fly into LA, and obviously spend a few days at Disneyland.

Hope everyone is well.

It's about 120 miles, I doubt there will be transfers provided by DCL. We will rent a car. I did a search and came up with private companies. Hopefully someone on the West Coast can help you plan.

I asked my cousin who lives near SD about this. AMTRAK runs between LA and SD and there's an option that could take you close to cruise port.

Hello all!! This will be our 5th Disney cruise and first cruise with our son. He will turn 3 on the October 30th 2017. We are in room 2088 and would love to participate with the FE group!!

Hello! My family (myself, my husband, son, who will be 6, and my daughter, who will be 3) just booked this as our first cruise ever! I am so excited I am not sure if I am going to be able to handle waiting the 465 days until we leave.
I am probably going to have at least a million questions before it is all said and done so I am going to ask for your patience when it comes to my cluelessness. I am already half way through my Disney cruise travel guide and I have been reading the boards even before I joined, I am trying to be as prepared as possible!
We would like to do the FE and treat exchanges.
Thanks!
