October 27, 2017... Wonder EBPC!

Hi, Walter and Diane booked today from San Antonio Texas. We are Platinum cruisers. Plan on visiting Disneyland before the cruise.

See you on board.

Hi everyone! I am Christine, and I am beyond excited to be on this cruise! I will be cruising with my mom (Joanne), sister (Amy), and friend (Tiffani). We were actually booked on this year's cruise but decided to push it back a year so that we would have some more time to get organized. We own a dance studio so August actually worked better for us since we are not in regular classes yet. We will have to do some finagling to make 2 weeks in oct/nov work but we are all willing to do that because this is definitely a trip of a lifetime. 3 of us will be gold on this trip. We will definitely want to do the candy exchange, FE and trick or treat. We have no kids with us, but we are definitely in for passing candy out :) I can't wait to get to know everyone here and enjoy 2 weeks on the Wonder! Our room # is 7046

welcome! we are neighbors - i'm in 7078. it's a great location.

what kind of dance do you teach? DH and i have been taking ballroom dance lessons. we're, uh, not so good (i am a *horrible* follower), but we have a blast doing it, and we are getting better!

A Nightmare before Christmas themed Haunted Mansion! I saw A Nightmare before Christmas for the first time on the Wonder on a Halloween themed cruise 2 years ago. It was shown in the Walt Disney theater and the characters came out afterwards. I enjoyed it, it was a Sing Along showing, but I don't really remember that people sang.

i first saw the movie in the theater when it came out - i think i was in college - but also saw it during the halloween cruises the last couple of years (no one sang on the ones i saw, either!). the haunted mansion overlay is fantastic. they re-do pretty much the whole mansion. they shut it for a month or something while getting it ready and i wondered why so long, but after seeing the transformation, i understood why. it's basically a different ride. very cool, though, and worth seeing if the timing works out.

I would love to participate in a mixology class with the group. Thank you for offering to look into it!
our dating anniversary is oct 23. we're hoping to get to cali in time to celebrate it, but it will depend on DH's work schedule. 3 of our last 4 disney cruises have been over that anniversary, though. our wedding anniversary is right before a big work deadline for me every year, so we celebrate our dating anniversary instead. :)

No problem!

we plan to at least do the halloween party at disneyland before the cruise, though i guess it will depend on the party schedule, and when we can arrive. we went to DLR for the first time a couple of years ago, and the halloween party wasn't offered as often as at WDW. it was really fun, though. because our time was limited we did a special tour that got us on the front of the line at the haunted mansion (which is redone in a nightmare before christmas theme), space mountain (also halloween themed), big thunder mountain, and something else (maybe pirates? i can't remember).

Boy, I can't believe I keep forgetting about Halloween!!! I LOVE Halloween at Disneyland. We have gone quite a few times during that season as they usually have the decorations up right around our anniversary. I'll have to make sure to book a stay at the Grand for a couple days before we head out for the cruise.

Anyone know if they will do a Halloween themed night on this cruise or do we have to do it ourselves?

When we were on during the Sandy cruise (2012), they had a whole Halloween costume contest and everything. I love the Gilligan Island's Group.

I was checking out the Navigator for last year's EBPC crossing and I have a feeling I am going to need a vacation after this cruise!!! I just love all of the activities. It's going to be hard to decide what to do most days. Maybe I'll rest during the shows.

in case you didn't see it on the main board...... Wonder updates after dry dock

thank you. had not seen it!

where do you think tiana's place will go? will it replace parrot cay (is that still on the wonder? my ships are blurring together. :) ).

and no mention of a suite lounge. maybe the top floor of cove is safe for us plebians! (before someone gets offended, i say that in jest - we've actually done two cruises in concierge on disney, and almost always do suites on royal. just decided it was too much $$$ for the PC.)

I just read about the new enhancements on the Wonder. I'm absolutely thrilled about Tiana's Place. I love that movie.

I also want to participate in FE and the trick-or-treating. I'm most likely going to be solo but still want to pass out candy. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I'll probably dress up if they have a costume contest or not. If I have enough vacation days I may just do the DL Halloween Party right before the cruise to start off my vacation right. The NMBC overlay at HM and Ghost Galaxy at SM is just amazing.

I can't believe it's still so far away! I've never booked a cruise this far ahead before. How do you cope???

The DIS helps, and yes way too far away. :(

by booking in-between cruises. :teeth: this is our next disney, but we've got 4 royal caribbean ones between now and then....

I actually liked Parrot Cay (yes still there as of April) better than Triton. I can't put my finger on why, perhaps the menu or Decor, but Parrot Cay was more interesting to me. We did a B2B (4 day and 5 day) so we didn't have formal night and maybe that is why. I have a feeling it will be Parrot Cay. A CM said they were on contract to work on the ship in Spain like ripping out carpets etc.. that was in Parrot Cay when we spoke to him, so I think it is that one.

All my son keeps talking about is the "Chocolate Pillows" pastry in the Cove. That was his breakfast for this last cruise. I am going to try and replicate them this weekend to make the year+ go by faster.

Oh one more question to those who have done PC before, what port adventures do you recommend? I was looking and there wasn't much that caught my eye.

Thanks Bobbi

Yep off to Michaels tomorrow with my 40% coupon to but one of the mini loaf pans, and then to the market for dough and semisweet chocolate. I'll have my tester at my side to let me know if we are on target. I'll share the recipe if it passes his taste tase.
