Random yet useful items to have for your trip.

Downy Wrinkle Releaser. Got a sample bottle once, and now refill before every trip from the full size bottle at home. Works great, smells fresh, dries faster than water, and I never remember to hang my clothes in the bathroom before a steamy shower.

All of you advocating a lit candle in a hotel room make me nervous. I had to leave a hotel room at 3:00 am once, and stand outside in my Jammie's and slippers in a 40 degree rain for over an hour, because of a fire started by a candle in a room. Not at Disney.

Foldable fabric cubes (you can find them at the dollar store). Perfect for the bathroom to corral everyone's toiletries when not being used, especially when counter space is at a premium. Also we set up one in the room to collect everything that comes out of pockets. That way everything is together and doesn't have a chance of falling behind a dresser/behind the bed.

We also use a popup hamper to collect dirty clothes then I pack them in the laundry bags or Disney store bags for the trip home if we don't do laundry there.

Me, too. Any hotel room I've stayed in that I've taken the time to read the actual "rules and regulations" for the room have always stated "no open flames in room". I've seen firsthand how quickly a candle can start an unexpected bonfire.

LUSH shampoo and conditioner bars! No limit like on liquids. Also, their No Drought dry shampoo, best one I've ever found. No spills and I can use a bit of pampering after a long hot day.

Full disclosure: my DD works for Lush so I have an array of things in several sizes. I stand by my shampoo bar recommendation though, so genius!

I'm with ya Sistah!!!
I don't even use candles in my home!
Love Downey as well, great stuff!

I save the samples I get from my dentist (toothpaste, toothbrush, etc). Then when it comes time to replenish my travel kit, the stuff is the ready to go.
We carry one big tube of sunscreen and replenish our travel tubes at the end of each day.

Anyone know if the wrinkle releaser works on your average Princess dress?

Lysol wipes - for the room - also for the tables at QS, and to wipe down the handles of your stroller (really all of it). When you leave your stroller, cast member's keep moving it around at some place's so to be sure. So they are touching a lot of stroller handles, so all the germs are just traveling around... Yuck

Cut up Sponge with dish detergent and a bottle brush ( dollar store) - wet sponge, apply dish detergent, let dry, put in Ziploc bag. We use these to wash out mugs or sippy cups, bottles.

Ziploc baggies, in all size's.

Power strip

Individual snacks, breakfast bars, goldfish, crackers, fruit snacks, for the parks it's just enough for standing in line.

Boo Boo bag - I have a large one in room, and a small zipper pouch in my small crossbody that I carry in the parks w/ Band-Aids, neo to go, tummy pills, Tylenol liquid for kiddos and pills for mom and dad, safety pins, eye glass repair kit and a small needle and thread kit, we have used this several times - I refill every time we go back to the room. DH has one in his travel bag and he has used it himself and helped out some of the other guys out when a button that fell off or a ripped pair of pants.

Static cling spray.

Collapsible cooler for the parks, with those thin gel freezer things, bring extra (3 or 4) so that you can rotate out, when you come back to the room midday - anytime for a break, plus the cooler comes in handy pool side

clothes pins, for curtains, chip bags, hanging bathing suits up to dry.

Paper plates, a roll of paper towels, and plastic utensil's.

Laundry bag

I had to update: I bring those thermacare heat packs, and ice packs the ones you break. I always bring them when we travel.

I used it to fix the handle on my suitcase and temporarily hold one of those big white square bandages on my knee while I made my way to first aide after I fell off a curb in MK and realized I'd forgotten to pack the first aide tape.
My son wrapped it around a shoe when the front of the sole started coming off - it worked great until we could get to a store to find him a new pair of shoes.

I actually used duct tape( mickey of course) to cover my blister prone areas instead of moleskin. Worked like a charm with one pair of shoes...not so much with my sandals :)

In addition to all the great ideas listed, we also bring a small bottle of white vinegar to run through the coffee maker. After experiencing stomach upsets on previous trips from the coffee machines, I always make sure we bring a bottle along. Other random things we bring not listed in previous posts:

  • a box of liquid coffee creamer (the ones in small pods that don't have to be refrigerated, such as International Delight), tea, extra sugar packets
  • instant oatmeal, plastic cups, plastic spoons, Hawaiian rolls (we eat these for breakfast so that we can ride our favorite rides at park opening, then eat something more substantial when the crowds arrive)
  • small battery operated handheld fan for hot days at the park (Walmart has them for about $2)
  • water bottle holder that clips to belt loop so that we are hands free
  • I've tried wearing my lanyard in the parks but the pins always fall off and I leave a trail of pins through the parks. So now I place my lanyard and pins I'm going to trade in a ziploc bag. It's easy to find and doesn't snag on anything when I pull it out of my small sling pack.

Lots of the things I bring have already been mentioned, so I won't repeat, but the one thing we brought on our last trip that I haven't seen here is our Keurig 2.0. I realize there's a coffee pot in the rooms, but for reasons stated by the poster above me, and the fact that we had 7 adults with different tastes in one place, made it much easier for everyone to bring their own K-cups. And no having to worry about turning the coffee pot off!

Lot of great ideas i'll use for future trips but the one I didn't see yet is a handheld travel scale for your suitcase. We always go back with more than we came with so I like to weigh the luggage before we hit the airport so I don't have to switch things when i'm there, hold up the line and pay more for any overages.

pop-up hamper
nightlight
power strip
liquid hand soap
thin plastic hangers and 4-6 wooden clothespins
Ziploc bags

We cruised last summer, then went to WDW for a few days. I bought some of those packing cubes and LOVED them. It was esp. nice to be able to pull the cubes from my bag and just toss them in a drawer.

During the summer months having a wet towel (like the ShamWow) is useful in wiping off wet seating areas.

I am pretty sure the candle in question is a plastic LED with a small battery. No flame or heat. We use them in out pumpkins during Halloween. You can get multicolor ones too.

No, a PP (on page 3) commented that they always bring a "scented candle and matches" to take care of unpleasant odors in the bathroom.

Some other people have mentioned the battery operated tea lights to be used at night lights. Those aren't a concern. Scented candles burning in the bathroom are.

Swiss Army knife

Dh always has his swiss army knife in his pocket, but just left Disney, and this trip they have the extra security that they randomly choose a person to 'empty' their pockets and pass through a metal detector. When they saw his knife they told him not to bring it to the parks (at least they didn't confiscate it!!) So just a 'heads up'!! :goodvibes
