is Jungle Cruise the worst ride at MK?

Just came back from my first vacay to WDW and we stayed at AKL and had just visited AK Kilimanjaro Safari and went on jungle cruise. Maybe we were not impressed with the stuffed/inflatable animals because we had seen some many LIVE animals at AKL and AK.

This was far and away the LONGEST wait, even with a FP it took more than 30 minutes to get on a boat. My wife and I thought this was the worst ride/attraction of our entire trip.

Can anyone tell me what the fascination (other than nostalgia) is of Jungle Cruise?

The worst ride is whatever ride any individual likes least. You know there's not an objective answer to your questions, right?

Not the worse ride in MK, but close!! LOL We think the Tiki Birds attraction and Stitch are far worse.

But, to be fair, every ride has it's following!

Jungle Cruise is classic ❤️ It was also my first Disney rude ever so I was sad to see it'll be closed at Disneyland when we take our son for the first time. Yeah the technology is outdated but the scenery is still pretty and the corny jokes are so bad they are good. A lot of rides at MK are a bit dated but what is so great about them is how immersive they are. Older, sure, but pretty timeless too.

The worst ride at MK is Stitch. Alien felt out of place but was way better than Stitch.

it's a slow loader, that's for sure. We're split. I like it. Love it? No. But it's relaxing and hokey and fun. I've banned DH from it though. He hates it and started muttering heckling statements by me last time we took the kids to DLR and just was a big ol' snot. We will probably do it again but leave DH dockside.

Love riding Jungle Cruise at night!!! It's a very relaxed and traditional/nostalgic ride!! I love to go during events... they will change up the corny jokes!! Went during MNSSHP and it was a blast!! :yay:
Now for the worst ride..... agree... Stitch! others right behind are... Speedway, Astro Orbiters, Aladdin,

I kind of understand the OP's point. Walt originally wanted the Jungle Cruise to feature live animals...but found it wasn't possible with zoo habitats of the day.

When AK opened, the Safari was billed as what Walt really wanted instead of the jungle cruise.

It's possible the Jungle cruise started as a more serious ride before skippers added more and more jokes (there is now a specified list of jokes they must follow)

apparently in your opinion it is but in my opinion jungle cruise is one of the best.

what i love about it is the punny jokes and my favorite part is trader sam.
any way you slice it or dice it you always come out ahead.

I almost skipped out on Jungle Cruise (well, Jingle Cruise when we went) when I was planning our trip - I thought my 18-year old sisters would find it boring. I ended up scheduling a FP for it since we were already going to be in that area. My sisters actually LOVED it, from the Christmas decorations to the awful(ly good) puns. One of them laughed through the whole thing, though, to be fair, she thinks just about everything is hilarious. We definitely would have taken another ride if we had had time.

I can think of a few things worse. Speedway, Stitch, the Aladdin/Dumbo copy (is it necessary to have the same ride twice in one park?)

We went on Aladdin, Dumbo, and TriceraTop Spin, and even though we expected them all to be the same ride, they felt pretty different. Aladdin was our favorite of the three because the up-down control was the only one that worked properly!

Also everyone knows the worst ride at wdw is the magical express trip to the airport.

OMG... hands down you win.

One trip there was a little boy that loved buses on our magical express bus that was pointing out every other bus. He pointed out one and said it was going to EPCOT.

Another passenger went "You know your right that is a much better bus why are we all on this bus going to the airport and back to the cold (It was January most on the bus were from up North) we should all get off and go there!

Found it hilarious

Staying in MK the worst ride to me is Tomorrowland speedway. I understand why those under 16 like it. But I never went to MK before I had a licence and don't have children.

I agree Stitch is pretty bad too. I love Stitch, just not his ride.

The Jungle Cruise is a Disney Classic, very popular. Originally designed and building supervision done by Walt himself. Walt did originally want live animals, but it was fast determined it would not work and the animals would be hidden the bush all day. Yes it is a bit corny and behind the times, but that makes it special in its own ways.

I think it's cute. But I think it's just because I remember it from when I was a kid.

My daughter hates it. Last summer, there was an injury in the boat ahead of us. We sat behind it for a good half hour and I guess her dinner didn't mix with the boat vibration and she threw up. I think our days on the Jungle Cruise are over. :)

My husband thinks the worse ride is the Tomorrowland Speedway.

I think it's Stitch.

My son thinks it's STWB.

The Jungle Cruise also used to be a serious ride. Walt's envisioning of the attraction was a "real life adventures" type deal that ultimately became Kilmanjaro Safaris. Jungle Cruise as it is today became hokey & jokey because the serious tone didn't work as well with the fake animals.

Like I said before, if you are looking for a serious cool ride where you see animals, it's just not for you. If you can't get into the spirit of being a bit silly; don't ride. (I say that with the experience of a skipper- it's VERY hard to have a great boat if you have people who are just not into it. Everyone knows that performers and comedians feed off of their audience).

You haven't ridden Autotopia in DL to learn how nice a self-driving car ride can be, and how disappointing the speedway is :goodvibes

But then how will I get jerked around uncontrollably with the slightest touch of the wheel?
