Go Home, December. You're Drunk. - A December 2015 TR - COMPLETED

I don't know how to quote a section of a post. I've kept up with your report but not replied. I usually check in when I'm on elliptical. I'm not coordinated enough to key in reply while ellipticalling!:rotfl2:

So my point is to reply to your suggestion that I get my daughter a tiara in addition to one I'm getting for myself and tell her she must wear it at WDW or she can't go; all in jest of course. I had told her about your trip reports and how much I enjoy them. I had posted on your report that I plan to wear a tiara in MK and how my daughter may not want to be seen with me.

I showed her your suggestion. She totally surprised me! Said she wouldn't want to wear a tiara but would wear headband thing across forehead that has jewels like a tiara. I think she gets it! So proud! Thank you Billie for making our day!

Ok, I swear I'm going to bite the bullet and get my face painted next time! I've seen your reports before with the paint, and it always turns out SO GOOD.
I have to ask...does it rub off? I'm afraid I'd destroy it because I'm a face toucher. Does it hold up well to water rides and sweat? Inquiring mind!!

So last night I was sobbing through Return of the Jedi, and now my family is afraid that when we meet Darth Vader at DLR or WDW (unless his spoiled baby of a grandson takes his spot) I'm going to go on and on about how there's good in him and he can leave the dark side. They're afraid I'll cause a scene, LOL!!

Girl, I'm impressed you can even read posts while on the elliptical! It's all I can to not to fall off that thing when I'm hanging on with both hands! :rotfl:

YAAAAAY! I love to hear this! Thank you so much for sharing this story with me! :goodvibes

It holds up well, actually! I can't speak for sweat since I always go during cooler times of year, but my facepaint has survived Splash Mountain on several trips! And if if does get messed up or even if you just would like it refreshed, you can stop into the facepaint station at any of the four theme parks or Disney Springs, and they're touch it up for you for free. :thumbsup2

I read last week or maybe the week before that that Kylo Ren is definitely replacing Darth Vader in the Launch Bay, but there wasn't a date, I don't think. :darth:

DAY 6
December 9th, 2015 - Wednesday
Magic Kingdom

(( Okay. I'm not even gonna lie to ya'll. Normally I have my TRs wrapped by now. It's been almost 2 months since my trip, and my memory is getting SUPER foggy. And I don't take notes, sooooo... yeah. I guess what I'm saying is expect the rest of this report to be mostly pictures and gifs, and lighter on narration. ))

We were up an at 'em this morning early, and on our way for another pre-park-opening breakfast! We got into Magic Kingdom but were running a few minutes late, so we didn't stop for photos, we headed right to the restaurant.

SANY0154.jpg

Despite running late, the hostess did tell us it would be a few minutes, so then we did grab a couple of photos. Not directly in front of the castle like I had hoped, but this will do!

(For those of you following my PTR for my upcoming October 2016 trip, this is the picture I'm using as my "Before" comparison shot as I lose weight!)

20151209_081523-1-1.jpg

I love this pic of Aunt Debby!

After the short wait, our pager went off and we were shown to our table. I can't recall her name, but I remember that our server was VERY sweet! The chef came out and took Debby for a walk along the buffet to explain what had gluten and mushrooms, then we all loaded up our plates!

20151209_082917-1.jpg

YUM YUM YUM! I can't wait to go back here, everything was so super delicious! For more about our delicious breakfast noms, you can visit my Dining Report HERE!

And of course, as we all know, the yummy noms aren't the only attraction here at the Crystal Palace, no not at all! We got to spend some time with friends, too!

Me and Pooh, we was sharing secrets...

Pooh decided that Aunt Debby talks too much...

20151209_085622-1.jpg

SO. MUCH. FUN! :hyper:

After breakfast, I sent them off to have fun on the Jungle Cruise, while I scooted my way across the park to Tomorrowland. Yeah, it was time for a little bit more of this...

20151209_095358-1.jpg

20151209_095751-1-1.jpg

I'm such a nerd. :rotfl:

As I was leaving Tomorrowland, I stopped for a Photopass pic!

MK_TOMBRDG1_7543456946.jpeg

Then I zoomed back over to Adventureland and met back up with them so we could hang out with some scurvy scallywags. That is to say, use our FPs for Pirates of the Caribbean! Then we were off to Frontierland! Aunt Debby found a place to relax and call home to check in with folks, while Mark and went off to hit a couple of big kid rides! Big Thunder Mountain, and then my personal favorite... Splash Mountain!

MK_SPLASH_7543597658.jpeg

My face, you guys. Seriously.

Also, another stupid arm raiser completely blocked the face of the child behind him. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS. >:( It's not even my family and I'm mad on their behalf! (Don't defend it. Just don't.)

After that I think there was shopping, and there was definitely some more PhotoPass pics!

MK_MSMKTHOU_7543377789.jpeg

MK_MSMKTHOU_7543379317.jpeg

(I'm supposed to frame the above one for my grandmother, but I keep forgetting. Whoops!)

Then Mark and Debby were ready for our afternoon rest. Oddly, I decided not to join them. As much as I love my afternoon nap, and my resort time, and my scooter could use the charge time... I just didn't want to leave!!! So. I didn't. I sent them off to the bus stops, and I just roamed. Snacked. Shopped. I don't think I even rode anything because the lines for everything were so crazy.

Oh. I did buy a balloon!...

20151209_134252-1.jpg

Aaaaand so this happened...

20151209_134226-1.jpg

Yes. I rolled out like that for the entire rest of the day/night. "Blending in" really isn't my thing.

20151209_134316-1.jpg

Me and my new pal, hangin' out, gettin' to know each other!

Not long after, I got a text message from Amie (my high school friend Bruce's wife) and they were in MK too, so we met up in the Confectionery and bought tasty treats. We nommed on cake pops and chatted about how our trips were going for a while, then parted ways. And yes... I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF US. AGAIN. :sad2: But it was really great to get to spend a little more time with them!

Then I did a little bit of shopping on Main Street. My mom collects little sparkly trinkets on the top shelf of her curio/china cabinet, so I found this darling little Tinkerbell for her...

20151209_135237-1.jpg

In the shop was this crystal Cinderella's Castle that I couldn't help but stop to Ooh and Aah over...

20151209_140140-1.jpg

20151209_140155-1.jpg

This could be yours for the low low asking price of $37,500! (Okay, maybe it was less than that. I just remember that it was definitely 5-digits.)

I also nabbed this photo of the REAL castle. Because BETTER!

20151209_152929-1-1.jpg

Around this time I was starting to get a bit of a rumbly in my tumbly, so I decided it was time to seek out some lunch. I wandered over to the Friar's Nook in Fantasyland, and obtained this beautiful creation that I'd been chasing for over a year...

20151209_141619-1.jpg

And of course, I gush about it's wonderfulness HERE on my Dining Report!

When I finished my lunch, it was getting just about time to go find my spot for the Festival of Fantasy parade. I headed down into Liberty Square, as I know there to be a nice Wheelchair/ECV section there. Sure enough, they still had room for me and I scootched on in!

Some of you might remember that in April of last year, I tried to video this parade, and messed it all up. So this time... I redeemed myself! I got almost the entire thing! (At the 2:16 mark, you can hear one of the dancer ladies tell me "Happy Birthday!")

Confession Time: As I was watching the video just now to make sure it all uploaded correctly, twice I got choked up completely unexpectedly, and had to blink back happy tears. Why does Walt Disney World do that to me?!

After the parade, I popped into the Christmas store that was right there, and picked out an ornament for my BFF Rachel. Her family collects them, they get a dated ornament from the parks every year. But when she and her family where here in November, they completely forgot! So she asked me to pick one up for her, she didn't care what it looked like, it just had to say Walt Disney World and 2015 on it. But it turned out that they only had 2016 left in stock... All the 2015 Walt Disney World ornaments where already sold out! In the first week of December! I thought that was pretty poor planning, personally. (And yep, I had checked at Disney Springs in the shop there earlier in the week, too... Same situation.) So! I improvised... I found a really pretty blue Walt Disney World ornament, and had them personalize it with 2015 for me. (I wish I had taken a photo because it turned out SO CUTE!) I had it sent back to the resort, and then continued on my way.

I admitted defeat and knew that I needed to plug-in somewhere, so I made my way over to the Tangled Tinkle Spot. After waiting forever for an outlet to free up, and got my wheels all hooked up to charge for a bit. I still had about an hour or so until I'd be meeting back up with Mark and Debby, so I did the sensible thing... and took a scooter nap. :faint:

(Continued in Next Post...)

(...Continued from Previous Post!)

After dozing and charging for a while, I got a call from Mark letting me know they were heading back. So I went to the front of the park and met up with them so that I could lead them to their dinner!

beourguest.jpg

We had a relatively short wait, and then out pager buzzed and we headed down the bridge and into the restaurant. We were lead to a MOST EXCELLENT table at the back of the ballroom, right by the windows!

My views...

We had a very delicious dinner, which of course I wrote all about HERE!

And for anybody curious... Yes, I was given a special occasion plate of The Grey Stuff for my birthday!

20151209_205417-1.jpg

After dinner, Beast unfortunately had quite a line, so we decided to forgo visiting with him. As we strolled along through New Fantasyland, we stopped for a photo.

MK_MERMAIDBRIDGEICONNC_7544058335.jpeg

We made our way over to Tomorrowland, as Mark wanted to ride the Carousel of Progress (which he remembered from his childhood), but sadly it was down. :( So we headed over to one of my personal favorites, the PeopleMover. Which was also down. So we checked out the lines for Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain... both WAY too long. So. We did the only two things left in Tomorrowland to be done. Yep. Stitch and the Laugh Floor, both of which I normally skip. :rotfl:

Stitch was... Well. It was Stitch. The Monsters Inc Laugh Floor ended up being okay. If you've done it before, then you know the video monitors will pop up a few people in the audience, and the comedians will make jokes about them. And whose face shows up on the screen at one point? Mark's. :lmao: The comedian said like 3 jokes, starting with: "Look at this guy! He thinks his nose is so important, he had to underline it!" (Making fun of his mustache.) Unfortunately, I can't tell you what the other jokes were, because I was crying in the floor. :rotfl2:

zB2bTM3RyMRig.gif

We headed back out to the hub (which was INSANELY PACKED) and I was telling Mark and Debby that we should go grab our spot in the FP+ area for Wishes. Turns out, they were pooped and didn't want to stay. I was pretty disappointed, as I only got the FP just to make sure I had a good spot for them. Plus it's one of my favorite things, and I was eager to share it with them. But I understood, and told them good night, while I found the entrance to the FP+ area.

Now. I did the FP+ back in April, and it was great. You could show up last minute, and still have plenty of room. Tonight it was A-W-F-U-L. I got there early, and it was already PACKED... and they were still letting people in! There was no more room for anybody, especially not me and my wheels. The CM working the entrance was a young guy who made it clear that he gave zero craps. I was also upset that even though the FP online clearly stated that the area would open at xx:xx time, he said they they actually start letting people in an HOUR before that. It was pretty terrible, and I ended up with not-the-best view, with a bit of tree and such in the way. BUT. I took a deep breath and reminded myself at I was at Disney World and about to watch Wishes, and everything was going to be FINE.

And then I took some pictures. :cutie:

I was much happier now, and was content to just relax for a while and let the crowds moooooove. And they did for quite a while... it was by far the most crowded I've EVER seen Magic Kingdom.. and I've been during 4th of July!

Eventually I started making my way slowly down Main Street with the huddled masses... As much as I would have dearly loved to linger, my battery was hurting bad so I knew it was time to call it a night. Admittedly, I was pretty pooped, too. So I blew a kiss to Magic Kingdom, and made my way to the bus stops on limping along little pink scooter.

When I made it back to the resort, I was seriously questioning if it would make it all the way back to the room. It was only just after 11pm, so I decided to head into the lobby so I could plug up for a few, and entertain myself. Along the way, I looked to my right, and saw MORE fireworks over the treetops! I don't know how true it was, but I overheard somebody nearby say they were from Pop Warner, which the direction they were coming from actually made sense...

I got inside and got myself plugged into an outlet, then headed into the gift shop. I bought quite a few things, then wandered into the food court where I found myself a treat!

20151209_235220-1.jpg

Pistachio gelato! YUM!!!

I kicked back at a table with my feet up in a chair, and relaxed for a while. I finished up my snack just as they were starting to close down for the night, so I took my leave. The juice boost to my scooter was just enough to get me back to my room, where a very tired Billie took a quick shower and crawled into bed!

Up Next: More Animal Kingdom & Epcot!

I love the Laugh Floor! My husband got picked to be 'that guy'. My favorite joke of the show:

"Knock, Knock."
"Who's there?"
(My husband's face)
"That guyyyyy."

As for getting choked up at WDW, I am so with you. I started choking up watching the little preview videos/cartoons on DME! And Celebrate the Magic? Forget about it. Floods of tears every time. The commercial with the fairy concierge? Yup, sobs. I have been trying to build up a tolerance by watching YouTube videos and I think it's hopeless. Oh well, I guess that's why waterproof mascara exists!

I also have my eye on that pot roast mac & cheese for our upcoming trip!

I think it's great that you let aunt Debbie and uncle mark head back as needed so you could still enjoy your MK day! I find just walking around and taking in the parks to be some of my favorite moments in the parks!

I love the laugh factory, I think it's a an under rated attraction, we enjoy it every time we go! We did skip it last trip which was a bit of a bummer for us actually!

The pot roast Mac and cheese looks yummy!

I must say seems like another really good day overall! But it does go to show you there is no more slow time, always crowded!

That sounds like fun. The Laugh floor is one of those attractions that I can't get my DH to go to. I enjoy it and one time I got picked for the "guess the number" game.

That's too bad that you burned a perfectly good fp for Wishes and they didn't even want to see it. :) We've done the Wishes fp twice now and both times there has been room at the back at the last minute. I wonder if they did a bad job clearing out the people before they started to let in the fp crowd.
it was by far the most crowded I've EVER seen Magic Kingdom.. and I've been during 4th of July!
We went to WDW the first week of Dec in 2013 and MK was REALLY crowded at night. I blame the Christmas party. When you close down the MK for three or four nights in a week it condenses the crowds into the remaining few days. Epcot was crowded, too, when we were there.

Also, another stupid arm raiser completely blocked the face of the child behind him. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS. :( It's not even my family and I'm mad on their behalf! (Don't defend it. Just don't.)

I know! I have gotten a lot better about remembering not to do this (plus, the roller coasters at Disney aren't really the super thrilling type). Especially after one of our Mine Train pictures was messed up by someone's hand in my face :/ Everyone wants good pictures!

In the shop was this crystal Cinderella's Castle that I couldn't help but stop to Ooh and Aah over...

Love it! We go into the crystal store every time we're in MK almost - and I do like to look at that castle.

I redeemed myself! I got almost the entire thing!

Woo hoo! I am debating about watching it. We have said we want to try and see the FoF parade in May, so part of me wants to wait. But part of me wants to see it now!

he said they they actually start letting people in an HOUR before that. It was pretty terrible, and I ended up with not-the-best view, with a bit of tree and such in the way.

Seriously? That's kind of frustrating for the whole FP system. Plus, I know it's a super popular one, but they shouldn't just be cramming people in. I know you have a better view, but then it doesn't seem much better than standing with everyone else in the non FP area! I'm glad you were able to make the best of it though :) Wishes is so much fun!

So after reading this update, here are my thoughts:
1. I feel like I immediately need breakfast lasagna from CP because I'm having withdrawls (also, I love the pic of you and Piglet, and of Pooh with your aunt!)
2. I feel like after I'm finished with the bfast lasagna, I need some pistachio gelato.
3. I'm now obsessed with seeing BoG with the tree up, even though I said we're skipping it on our December trip.
4. Oh yeah, I also need that mac and cheese
5. The pic you're supposed to frame for your grandma is GORGEOUS.

6. I like food.

Great update :-):-)

I love the Laugh Floor! My husband got picked to be 'that guy'. My favorite joke of the show:

"Knock, Knock."

BAHAHA!!! Too funny!!! :rotfl:

As for getting choked up at WDW, I am so with you. I started choking up watching the little preview videos/cartoons on DME! And Celebrate the Magic? Forget about it. Floods of tears every time. The commercial with the fairy concierge? Yup, sobs. I have been trying to build up a tolerance by watching YouTube videos and I think it's hopeless. Oh well, I guess that's why waterproof mascara exists!
Oh god, Celebrate the Magic does me in, too! And Illuminations. Normally only when I'm seeing them live, though. Getting teary whille watching my video last night, that caught me off-guard!

I also have my eye on that pot roast mac & cheese for our upcoming trip!
It's so decadent but so so so worth it! :cloud9:

Excellent castle picture!
Thank you! :cutie:

Hey, anything that hits your Happy button should not even be questioned, just enjoyed repeatedly!
I should just mash the **** out of that button, then. :rotfl:

I think it's great that you let aunt Debbie and uncle mark head back as needed so you could still enjoy your MK day! I find just walking around and taking in the parks to be some of my favorite moments in the parks!
Yeah, even though I was pooped, I was really happy that I skipped the break that day and hung around MK on my own for a while. :goodvibes

I love the laugh factory, I think it's a an under rated attraction, we enjoy it every time we go! We did skip it last trip which was a bit of a bummer for us actually!
I think that the biggest problem with the Laugh Factory is that the queue and pre-show stuff (with Rozz and Mike) is SO FREAKIN' LAME. Like, not funny what so ever. So it's very easy to forget that the live comics are actually hilarious!

The pot roast Mac and cheese looks yummy!
It was SUPER yummy! :thumbsup2

I must say seems like another really good day overall! But it does go to show you there is no more slow time, always crowded!
Definitely no more slow times at WDW, that's for sure. :sad2:

That sounds like fun. The Laugh floor is one of those attractions that I can't get my DH to go to. I enjoy it and one time I got picked for the "guess the number" game.
Oh, how fun! Shame he won't go enjoy it with you, though!

That's too bad that you burned a perfectly good fp for Wishes and they didn't even want to see it. :) We've done the Wishes fp twice now and both times there has been room at the back at the last minute. I wonder if they did a bad job clearing out the people before they started to let in the fp crowd.
Yeah, I was in the back of it in April, and it was awesome. This time it was absolutely awful. And the kid working it, like I said, clearly gave zero craps, so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't get cleared at all! >:(

We went to WDW the first week of Dec in 2013 and MK was REALLY crowded at night. I blame the Christmas party. When you close down the MK for three or four nights in a week it condenses the crowds into the remaining few days. Epcot was crowded, too, when we were there.
I think you're right. I hate that they do F&W the same months as the Halloween parties, because I love me some F&W. It's the only thing stopping me from changing my travel dates to a time of year when no parties are happening (like mid to late Jan/Feb).

I know! I have gotten a lot better about remembering not to do this (plus, the roller coasters at Disney aren't really the super thrilling type). Especially after one of our Mine Train pictures was messed up by someone's hand in my face :/ Everyone wants good pictures!
I guess I just don't understand it because I've never been an arm-raiser. I remember being a kid and going on rollercoasters at Six Flags and similar, and raising my arms up just because my friends did, but feeling like it didn't really add anything to the experience, so I stopped!

Love it! We go into the crystal store every time we're in MK almost - and I do like to look at that castle.
I like to look at it and be like "I could send a kid to COLLEGE on what they're asking for this castle!" :rotfl:

Woo hoo! I am debating about watching it. We have said we want to try and see the FoF parade in May, so part of me wants to wait. But part of me wants to see it now!
If you haven't seen it, wait. I hate spoilers, and I never watch ride/parade/show videos if I haven't experienced them in-person yet!

It was so bad that some people actually got up and left our pen, deciding they'd have a better chance trying to find a spot for themselves out in the wilds. It really was a wasted FP. But it's Disney, and I do try to make the most of every situation! :cutie:

So after reading this update, here are my thoughts:
Bring 'em on, girl! :thumbsup2

1. I feel like I immediately need breakfast lasagna from CP because I'm having withdrawls (also, I love the pic of you and Piglet, and of Pooh with your aunt!)
I love the pics from this breakfast, they all came out so cute! :goodvibes

2. I feel like after I'm finished with the bfast lasagna, I need some pistachio gelato.
It was so so so good! :D

3. I'm now obsessed with seeing BoG with the tree up, even though I said we're skipping it on our December trip.
It really was beautiful, I'm so happy we got such a great seat! :-)

4. Oh yeah, I also need that mac and cheese
Yeah you do, girl!

5. The pic you're supposed to frame for your grandma is GORGEOUS.
It'll be more gorgeous if I ever remember to get it together and framed for her. :rotfl:

6. I like food.
Then you are in the right place, my friend!

Great update :-):-)
Thank you kindly! :P

Great update Billie! I am in love with your blingy Minnie Mouse shirt!

We were at Magic Kingdom the 9th also. We got there early in the morning and it was awesome. But the afternoon? Not so much! We had FPs for the MSEP and couldn't even GET there it was so packed (no room to move at all - we finally gave up and just stopped some random place and were 3-4 rows back). It was insane. Definitely not one of my favorite things about this trip! But everything else was really manageable. Just this night was really bad!!

We were up an at 'em this morning early, and on our way for another pre-park-opening breakfast! We got into Magic Kingdom but were running a few minutes late, so we didn't stop for photos, we headed right to the restaurant.

SANY0154.jpg

Planning this for my last MK day, also my last full day. Exciting!

Yes. I rolled out like that for the entire rest of the day/night. "Blending in" really isn't my thing.

That's what I call travelling Disney Style

Not long after, I got a text message from Amie (my high school friend Bruce's wife) and they were in MK too, so we met up in the Confectionery and bought tasty treats. We nommed on cake pops and chatted about how our trips were going for a while, then parted ways.

How great that you got to meet up again

But it turned out that they only had 2016 left in stock... All the 2015 Walt Disney World ornaments where already sold out! In the first week of December!

Really????? How odd.

I found a really pretty blue Walt Disney World ornament, and had them personalize it with 2015 for me.

Oh great, you found a solution

Stitch was... Well. It was Stitch

No, no, no, nope. Still have traumatic memories from its predecessor. More on that it my next update tomorrow.

Sucks! But way to go on not letting it ruin the moment.

Overall sounds like a most magical MK day.
