BWV Renovation

We are here right now in a Standard View 1 Bedroom on the 2nd floor... WOW! I love it... I thought I wouldn't but I do. So anyone who receives a renovated room, fear not! They are great! No issues with construction noise. The workers have not impacted our stay whatsoever.

I haven't seen the one-bedroom, but I really hate the sanitized version of the studio. It feels cold and sterilized. I don't hate the furniture as much as I thought I would. I just hate the paint color: grey-blue. Dull. Depressing. This is not what I want to look at on my "beach" vacation!

So glad to hear some of 2nd floor is completed. We are also in a standard 1bed located close to bend in building towards the parking lot. Oh my! They are drilling and grinding right above us and the room vibrated all day. Took a trip to front desk immediately. This room is not renovated.

We checked in Tuesday and got a ground floor room unrenovated. We were told we could move in a few days if we wanted but we usually just make do and don't complain. Keep in mind we have been owners since 1999.
The room was worse than anything we have ever stayed in at Disney and If it wasn't that we were owners we would not have stayed in the room. Mold in the bathroom, caulk painted over multiple times, nobs falling off cabinets.
After two nights We asked to be moved and magically they found a renovated room. What a wonderful change. They have redone everything and we are pleased with all of the upgrades. New bathrooms, TVs, appliances. We are looking forward now to coming back.

Just checked in to a two bedroom & a studio, bw view. All "three" rooms are renovated. We're on the 2nd floor above big river grill, right across from the basketball shoot. Rooms are gorgeous! No construction in sight but haven't ventured further down the hall.

So you have not heard noise above you? We will be in 2049 starting Oct. 13 and hoping that there is no construction above us.

So far no. We're in 2031 & my family is in 2037 & 39. We spent the afternoon in our room & not a sound of construction. I did see construction workers walking through the lobby.

We were there in September and they had the 2nd floor corridor blocked off. We were on the 3rd floor in a refurbished 2 bedroom lock off.

We are on the second floor. Noise has not been an issue and we are very glad we moved from other room. Kind of funny, but the garbage can and recycling can do not fit under the kitchen sink.

We just got back on Thursday from a 2 week trip at BWV's. We got a renovated room on the 4th floor close to the elevator. The hall directly across from the elevator was where we were located. (4066) The room was beautiful. Halfway during our stay the hallway that is directly to your right as you get off the elevator was walled up. One day you could go down it, and then one day a wall appeared with a sign that said renovation in progress. We are the family that goes back during the day to our resort for lunch and a short nap. That construction was LOUD! It was hard to take a nap. I guess they started with the closest rooms first. My only complaint during the whole 2 weeks was that noise! Thankfully, it was the last week of the trip and not the entire time. The noise was during the daytime hrs as well. We love BWV's and we love the location. We had an excellent time at F&W. But just a heads up right now for those going, you might not want to be on the 4th floor close to the elevator, lol! Oh, and I love the refurbished rooms, very pretty!

we were in a 2nd floor standard studio end of September. It was not renovated & we heard no noise from construction. We are headed back later this month & will report back.

Have you ever stayed in the pool/garden view HA rooms Jean? I'm curious how many there are and where? The only HA room we've had at BWV has been the Boardwalk view but I wanted a 2 BR and only the Pool/garden view category was available by the time I booked for next April. I'm guessing the P/G are only on the first floor and I may have read reports of at least one being by the clown pool.

No, Kathy. Only 2049, BW view. I actually was wondering about a pool/garden HA room. The solid wall on the balcony of 2049 makes the view worthless to DH. And I am able bodied but prefer to sit and relax while watching the boats come and go. Can't really do that with the solid wall.

We have stayed several times in both a standard view and garden view 2 bedroom H/C room. I always request close to elevators. No matter the view booked we have always received the exact same room a 2nd floor room just past the elevators. I really like this location. The elevator noise in the MB can be a little loud but DS who needs this room sleeps like a rock so doesn't bother him a bit. I believe there is only one H/C room with roll in shower for BW View not sure about SV or GV.

Thanks Jean. If I remember I'll report back if you'd like.

Thanks! We have a roll in shower so we'll learn where at least one is although it's possible it's the only Pool/garden view one. I'd hope they have a couple at least though. Being near the elevator would put it looking out at the Clown pool so it lines up with those reports although those were ground level so it's nice to hear that there are 2nd floor HA rooms.

There is one on the second floor on the right as you go down the standard view hallway. It has a roll in shower and looks out toward the pool. Very close to the lobby. I can't remember if it is the 1st or 2nd door to the right after you come off the elevator.

I'll bet that is what we'll get. Elevator noise can be a bit bothersome for me but oh well. I always have ear plugs along. :)
