As I was standing in line at DHS...

Technically there are 5 attractions that classify as rides in DHS- ToT, RNRC, Star Tours, TSMM, and GMR. The remaining attractions classify as shows/other entertainment.

There are about 20 attractions in Magic Kingdom that classify as rides.

Soooo if this CM is saying 5 + 4 > 20, there's a problem there, right?

Seem if you have doubt about my wording. Suffice it to say... it was a joke. You know... taking offense at a statement and then agreeing with it. All in fun!
Oh no! I thought it was quite funny. And <sigh> sadly accurate.
My emoticon choice wasn't maybe properly expressive. :p

I am sure that whatever they plan they will announce at D23 this year. I can't wait to see what they have planned. Going on Friday and Saturday I think this will be a year of major announcements

Disney has Wreck-it-Ralph, Up, Inside Out, maybe Big Hero Six (not sure how that fits in the Marvel issues) and a few other things that aren't in the parks yet in any substantial form. All of those would make perfect additions to DHS in addition to Star Wars.

From the only concert rumor I've heard is that there is a flight simulator attraction is coming to one of the American Disney Parks. Not sure which of the 6 parks it will be in. But I am confident in the source.

Big hero six is fine to be in the parks and already has with the meet and greet. Inside out is just coming out to the general public this Friday. It's possible once it becomes a hit that it will make it into the parks but not yet.

You know, I'm not a big Star Wars fan but do know scenes and even dialog, and while I did see Avatar I only saw it once, and I may not see every movie that comes out from now until forever. But if a ride/land/experience is done well enough, I could fall in love with it regardless of my background knowledge. I think it's all in the execution.

I saw Frozen three times (my DD claims she doesn't love it--you get the idea about what happens when she does love a movie) and don't really think I'll enjoy a half-hearted attempt to retool an existing structure. But if they did something really amazing ...

For the love of...some of us were dragged as children to the Star Wars movie (at a drive-in!) and thought it was really, really stupid. Thirty-some years later, some of us still think it was a stupid science fiction robot movie. Please, please, please don't continue the shrine-hood. There are so many movies new and old movies to inspire attractions. ANYTHING but the incredibly outdated Star Wars.

There are tens of people that agree with you. Like it or not, the new Star Wars movie is going to blow the record that Jurassic World just set right out of the water. It's coming. And if you think the "Frozen" takeover of the parks was bad, just wait. It's going to be worse.

I always look at wait times through out the day and I just shake my head in disgust when I look at DHS. What a terrible park that has turned in to.

Are bus driver rumors still a problem. Last I checked they no longer talk to the customers.
Good question. Last time I talked to one was when my family were the only ones on the bus in 2012 and the bus driver was from our home state. He told us at that a marvel land was coming to DHS...

I can honestly say I've never heard anyone who was around to see the original film in theaters when it came out talk about the franchise like that. So yeah, 10s of people is probably accurate.

As for breaking Jurassic World's record, I highly doubt it since it's a December release. It would have to more than DOUBLE the current December record for an opening weekend. I hope it happens, but I don't think Disney is expecting it to happen, or they would have released it in the summer. It will gross more than JW in the overall run though as it will be raking in tons every weekend even in February, while JW will be phased out completely within the next month.

I'm not a Star wars fan (I've seen all of the movies), but I know that it would be a gold mine if Disney could devote a land to it at DHS. However, I'm not a fan of converting the entirety of DHS to it as some have suggested in the past, as that would seem incredibly short-sighted and alienating of a good portion of the WDW-going population (e.g. my family, right now). But I love the idea that has been thrown around on this forum over the years of making multiple "lands" in DHS that captures the various studios Disney owns and creating an all-day/multiple-day park for the whole family - Star Wars/Lucas Land, Pixar Place (not just Toy Story or just Cars), Disney Animation Studios (Frozen, Big Hero 6), and Marvel (for whatever characters they can get in DHS). This really would change the landscape of DHS dramatically and would provide something for everyone.

I've never seen Avatar, but I will definitely go visit Avatarland when it opens - why not, if I'm already at AK? But I probably wouldn't use up a ticket for a Star Wars-only park. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. Yes, yes, I know - I'm sure Disney could fill up a Star Wars only park. But for a company looking to maximize the profits on their investments, they'd be better served to make each of their four parks as appealing to as many of the guests as possible. JMO

I always thought bus drivers just made stuff up because they were bored anyways. It's gotta be a pretty boring job.

They would never do that. Nor a Marvel only park. It's just not smart business and they know it.

I don't ever reject a ride or attraction out of hand as many people seem to do. ("I don't like Frozen!" "I don't like Avatar!" "I don't like Star Wars!") Song of the South is the least relevant Disney movie in my life, yet Splash Mountain is still a top 3 attraction in all of Disney. There's probably not a human over 8 that would consider Cars anywhere near the tops of a list of Pixar movies, yet Disney designed an amazing land and a fantastic ride around this particular product. (Seriously, if you are a Disney fan - get out to California to ride RSR and see WoC.)

So you will all excuse if I dare to wait to see what is built before I decide whether to dismiss it as something I do or do not want to ride regularly.

Avatar will have a flight simulator ride, that might be what they are referring to.

A Star Wars dinner better be in the cantina, and that idea of the hotel with windows looking out on different planets. Or locations made me want to hand over my wallet. In my life, people age 3-50 LOVE Star Wars! But if they wimp out and do it half way it will be a disaster.

We're trying to get ADRs at H&V for mid-November, and can't get anything. Dinner ressies aren't even an option on the drop-down menu. Can't even try for anything after 2:30 p.m. as of right now. So I'm hoping they announce something that means opening up more ADRs there!

I hear you but ... look at Pizza Planet ...
