As I was standing in line at DHS...

Two of my kids and I were checked in for an early H&V breakfast by a lovely older gentleman cast member who was shared some things with us. It started on us commenting about the length of the line for the Star Wars breakfast compared to the H&V. He made a comment that they should just rename the park something to do with Star Wars. I asked him about the Star Wars breakfast continuing and he replied that they should since it was bringing in so many people.

Then he went on to say the HS (always will be MGM to me) is getting FOUR new rides and "Will have more rides than the Magic Kingdom." REALLY? I dug and dug for more info, but he said he didn't know what they were or when.

Then when at 50's PTC on another day (our Star Wars weekend day...OHHH, the crowds...Seriously this should be an indication of what sells! Leave my beloved ToT and the great 30's theming but make the rest Lucas Land with a salute to all things Harrison Ford! bunny trail over) our waiter also told me that "Big things are coming for the fall." He said there would be a lot of announcements about HS in the fall and it was going to be incredible. Again, he wouldn't elaborate (and I really didn't think he knew much more).

Both these CMs seemed to really have drunk the Disney kool-aid (as I have too) and were excited about the fantastic possibilities that might happen!

I've said this before but I really think there is something coming September 4th as there is a merchandise release for Star Wars that day. Disney also had a Star Wars contest where the prize included a Star Wars meal and meet and greet which could be used starting September 4th.....

A security guard was telling me about how Disney has only developed 10% of the land they own there, and there's a new high-speed rail line being built from New Jersey to Miami, and Disney is lobbying for a stop.

I file it all under "too much pixie dust." Yes, that's a recognized psychological disorder.

I'll believe it when I see it. Restaurant servers are right up there with bus drivers to me, in terms of inside knowledge of what is going on in and around the parks, planning wise.
Ahhh the "older CM" as a source. Sad that they likely won't still be walking the Earth by the time any new rides are opened at DHS.

When the Tangled bathrooms were going up I asked a CM what it was going to be (Tangled attraction or something else).

"It'll be something MAGICAL, I can't break the magic now can I?"

I feel like Charlie Brown on Halloween now.

"I got a Frozen Sing-a-long!"
"I got a Frozen ride!"

"...I got a Tangled bathroom."

Disney should have already moved quickly on the Star Wars direction. Rides, restaurants...I think even a Star Wars themed hotel would be sustainable. The windows of the lobby, restaurants and select rooms should be like the Hogwarts Express, looking outside on somewhere like Coruscant. They should take some of that capital they have and think big.

Agreed with PPs - I'll let someone else do the math, but it has to take WAY more than 4 rides to catch up with the number of rides at MK.

I really do believe that we're eventually going to see the fabled "Star Wars Land" at DHS and logically it should involve a couple of new rides. And I still remember some pretty serious speculation (was that all it was?) about a Toy Story Land clone coming, with the "family" rides like the parachute thing and Slinky Dog. I seriously don't think "4 Rides" means "4 Super Awesome Headliner Rides!!!"

Now, we're probably looking at this coming about just in time for my Retirement Party trip.

The only reason I go to HS at all is to try and get on Toy Story Mania quickly and then see Fantasmic! That's it, done for the day. Speaking of Toy Story Mania though, I thought the additions to the park were going to be in the Pixar section--I thought they were going to add a number of attractions there and soon--who knows. Hadn't heard about anything Star Wars, though that would be great for me--if they could smooth out the Star Tours ride first, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Maybe there will be an announcement at D23 in August. Last time they did not have a parks and resorts session because they didn't have anything to announce. It's on the schedule this year.
