Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I really like your Haunted Mansion band. How did you do that one?

I use IDraw on my Mac. Any decent graphics program will work. I design the image to the size specs called out on Magicyourband.com. Save it as a .jpg then test it on the website. I make any changes to make sure it fits right then process it for cutting. I have the first set ordered now, can't wait to see how they look!

Here are my latest. 101 Dalmatians, Cheshire Cat, George Pig (not Disney but when a 6 year old asks for Peppa Pig you listen ), Green Lantern, Thor, Iron Man, Reverse Flash, and Flash. Yep, we are big Super Hero geeks!! ::yes::

Love your superhero bands!! I would sooo do a Green Lantern if I hadn't already bought stuff to do a Maleficient/Sleeping Beauty good vs evil one. Definitely next time!!

Whew! I finally read this entire thread. Love all the wonderful bands and appreciate all the advice and ideas. HockeyMomNH--:worship:"we're not worthy" (or at least I'm not) I am in awe of your talent and amazing MB's!

Going on my first MB trip in October, so I have some time to plan. I do have one MB to play with since my DS went on a music trip with his HS this spring (hope he doesn't mind)!

Questions to those who used glow-in-dark nail polish--did anyone find one that dried clearer or that didn't need as many coats? I think I will be using polish rather than acrylics. Thanks!

ETA: I tried both glow in the dark polish and acrylic without much success. I only used it as an accent. I think that it works better with several coats and a larger area covered.

Aww, thank you.

I'm about 50 days out from our next trip. I'm getting the itch to start painting bands again.

Thanks!! The Green Lantern was very easy, absolutely do one next time! :-)

Thanks HockeyMomNH. I wondered about the Glow stuff since people talked about putting it on, but only a couple talked about it actually working. I think I'll experiment with accents and see how it goes!

Yay!! I finally get to post pics! These are the bands that I made for our 2014 trip. I used base coat, nail polish, tattoos, and a sharpie (yes a sharpie!) for the black outline of the Mickey heads. I found that I was able to "blot" the base coat over the sharpie with relatively little smearing.

Nicely done and love the SHINE those are some glossy bands! :D May I ask if you used base or top coat on top?

I painted our magic bands today and posted pics in a facebook group and a woman told me that they aren't going to scan at the parks and that people who decorate them cause problems and long lines for people who don't decorate.

There are so many people here who have said painting doesn't cause scanning problems. This was all done with nail polish...Please tell me I didn't waste my entire day doing this....

I painted ours with nail polish and used temp tattoos. Never had any issues with scanning and certainly did not cause any "long lines".

On my last trip, I painted mine with nail polish, used nail stickers, used sharpie, and covered everything with 2 layers of top coat and had absolutely no trouble scanning at any locations for entry, FP+, or charging to the room. The only time I delayed a line was long enough for a CM to go "Oh my gosh I love your band!". ;)

Sounds like she's just got some sour grapes working. Your bands look fabulous.

@amberama76 you bands are great and will work just fine. The poster who told you otherwise is incorrect. There are plenty of magic bands that people have problems with but its not due to the decorations. Ours have worked perfectly and some have had jewels over the Mickey head. All have had nail polish over them.

I painted out MBs with nail polish and covered my Mickey head with a jewel and had no problems at all. Have a great trip. Your bands look great!
