Now It's a Royal Baby NAME Watch thread!

I have a feeling we will see the name Mary somewhere in the name.

The last Princess of Cambridge was Princess Mary Adelaide who was a cousin of Queen Victoria and a granddaughter of King George III. She married a German prince and was the mother of Princess Mary of Teck.

Mary of Teck married King George V and was the grandmother of Queen Elizabeth.

I think likely contenders for names include Charlotte, Mary, Elizabeth and possibly Alice or Alexandra.

I also think Mary and Elizabeth are high contendors

I was hoping for Alexandria but little George has Alexander as a middle name, so not sure if they would use something similar for her first name.

I am thinking it may be Elizabeth Mary Diana.. To honor Queen Elizabeth. She will be Elizabeth III...

I was reading the other day, that Charlotte is a far off chance, as previous "charlottes" of royalty have not faired well, so it is not a popular name amongst royalty

The only thing I hate for them is they don't get a choice in the name of the baby. From what I have been hearing on TV it's the queen choice. Has anyone else heard that?

She will not be Queen unless something happens to George.

Also I serious doubt Diana will be in there as a name. Too much history between Diana and the Royal Family.
 
I can't believe she's already had her baby! I got up this morning and saw she was in labor and yay, a little princess! So exciting! I would love to see Alice as the name, but that's just a personal favorite of mine, haha

Didn't say she would be Queen, if she is named Elizabeth she would be Elizabeth III, due to Queen Mother being Elizabeth I......Queen Elizabeth is Elizabeth II ....thus making her Elizabeth III - if that is what they name her... :)

Diana as a middle name, won't put Queenies nose out of joint too much :)

Considering that the II after the Queens name is her regnal number even if the baby is named Elizabeth she will not be Elizabeth III. She has to become queen to put the III after her name and that's only if she chooses Elizabeth as her Regnal name.

For example King George VI, the Queens father was named Albert, George was one of his middle names. It is said that Prince Charles will also choose George as a regnal name.
