I mean, it's just one banana. How much could it cost? 10 dollars?

I know we have talked about this a bunch... But one more time.

For the training programs/schedules (if my math is correct):
Today is 19 weeks until the 10K and tomorrow is 19 weeks until the Half-marathon.
The 10K is typically a 18 week schedule and the half-marathon is a typical a 19 week schedule.
Both schedules include one week in the schedule after the race.
So Sunday May 2nd the training program for the half needs to be posted. (But I would assume they would do it by Friday so they don't have worry about it over the weekend.)
And for the 10K they could possibly wait until Saturday May 7th. But I would assume they would post them all at the same time.

I think we will all be a little bit disappointed if they end up just using some generic logo on the 10K schedule if they really are still trying to narrow down the theme.
And once they do post the schedules... What is the next thing related to the race that I need to get obsessive about? Ha Ha

@EDS19 I happen to be awake since I'm doing online check-in for a cruise. :)

I'm hoping they post the training plans this week (so I can stop refreshing runDisney.com looking for them!!!), and not with just some generic logo. I'm with you - that would be disappointing.

As for the next thing after the schedules are posted...I think that would be them releasing concept art of the medals. Lately they seem to have been doing that about 3 months ahead of time, so hopefully we'll see it early-mid June. :)

I had a 10-mile race this morning (well, technically, yesterday morning). I think I've mentioned here that I was in a major post-Dopey/Disney funk, and that combined with my being bummed out with this Ohio winter made me pretty unmotivated to do much running since January.

It showed in this race - it wasn't a personal worst, but it was a little further than I'd like from my personal best on this course (my sixth time running it this morning, and the first time I haven't set a new PR here). Over the years I've realized that I sort of use this race - the first *real* distance race I've ever run - as a benchmark to see how I'm doing, and year after year I've had good results. So now I'm disappointed to see how much I've lost over the past couple of months.

On the plus side, I DID finish the 10 miles (since Dopey I've been averaging maybe 10-12 miles total per week - the funk was REAL, I tell you :faint:) which is a feat in and of itself considering how little running I'd done. And I don't feel sore at all now. Maybe it'll hit me tomorrow morning.

The biggest plus of all was that this was a wake-up call - time to get back on the horse! Or out on the road. I'm ready to get out of this funk! :)

ETA: 2 things I forgot to mention...1.) I saw a guy wearing a Dopey shirt before the race and chatted with him. That was fun! And 2.) I ran this race with my brother (if anyone has read my rD trip reports, he was in the earlier ones). I always love running with him! Like me, he says this race was a wake-up call...we were struggling!! He wants to do Star Wars and Dopey someday. :)

Congrats on finishing the 10 miler! Now you have the motivation to shake off that winter funk and maybe a new running partner for future Disney races.

But not before I award you a seal! For sand racing.

Congrats on the 10 miler. The good news is you have plenty of time to get back in top form and work your way up to Corral A!!

I have now completed all of my Winter and Spring Races. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was hobbling pretty bad with a calf/heel/ankle issue and just stopped running. Nothing but ice and rest over the past two weeks except for the 5k and half I ran last weekend and the 10k this morning. Maybe there is something to this more rest less running that I keep reading about but never tried until now. PRs for all 3 races. Yay me!

After 9 "official" runs so far this year, I have no more events scheduled except for a 4th of July 5k.
PoT submitted for DDD.
Time for rest, relaxation, and maybe some alcohol. :drinking1

Corral A!! Hahahahaha...you're funny. Congrats on those PRs!

Forgot to post my little collage from the race. Love the medal and the shirt for this one:

One other thing I forgot to mention! This was my first race using RaceDots...magnets that hold your bib on so you don't have to use safety pins. They were a pain to get on but they worked really well! No more pinholes in my shirts. Thanks to @FFigawi for the recommendation. :)

Well done on your finish :thumbsup2

You're very lucky in the US with your bling. Over here it's very rare to find a race with both a t-shirt AND a medal (especially in the under half marathon distance) - more often than not, participating in a 10k gets you neither. The medals that we do get are just small traditional round ones. And we don't really have 10 milers. Think running events in the US 10 years ago :rotfl:

Finished my second half marathon today! Didn't get the time I wanted, but I was overall really happy with the run. I really enjoyed the course, learned a lot of things and came in two minutes faster than my last half (with my longest run since my first half being ... five miles last weekend). It was an impulse registration and I'm very glad I did it.

I was really excited that this race had pace groups at pretty much ever 5-minute group. This would be the first chance I ran with a pace group!! I got in the corral with the pace I wanted to run and was really excited. I was the only one that had run a half previously (other than the pacers), so that also got me pumped up.

Unfortunately - they were pacing too fast (I'm talking a legit 8 minutes faster than what the plan was) and then they blew through the first two hydration stops ... and, I just wasn't on board with that. I started running with an older guy who has MS (he was AMAZING), and he asked if I was tracking our splits or anything. When we hit the third hydration stop, I checked. And yup. We were pacing WAY too fast.

So, that part sucked because I had NOTHING left in the tank come the Mile 12 marker.

My super-sweet husband ran the last .5 mile with me, but he was struggling to go at my pace (I'm about 2:00 slower than him).

But. I finished! And ... bling!!!!!

Congratulations on your PR! It sounds like you gave it everything that you had.

I have a question about your pace group. Was it local or a big one like Clif? Did they tell you that they were going to run through the water stops? I'm considering running with one next weekend. I definitely have a specific time goal in mind. Would you use one again?

It was a local one - not done by Clif. The guy who was leading our group was running his fifth half and it was his first as a pacer. He had a "veteran" running with him to keep on pace. We talked a lot about the race, but honestly - I never thought to ask about hydration stops.

I ended off falling of the pace group, but kept with a bunch of runners going for the same time and we kind of paced ourselves. We didn't hit the mark, but we weren't SUPER far behind it. Maybe four minutes? I looked up the bib of the pacer and he finished nearly 8 minutes ahead of the time they were pacing at.

I would definitely go with a pace group again. But I definitely know what questions to ask now, and to see how they are following pace and how they pace out.
