The Timeshare Store timeline

Called dvc today and wouldn't look up if I have a member # yet. Said I have to receive letter and could take 14 days to months.
Anyone having better luck, what options did you choose on phone? Reservations, etc.

Option 3 for member accounting looked for me every time I called. Depending on when your deed was recorded it seems to be around 12-15 days later you'll be in the system. I did receive my letter 4 days after I was in the system.

What stage are you at? Did your deed get recorded with comp yet?

It takes about 5-14 business days after comp registers. Normally longer if a new DVC member vs adding to an existing account.

PS. A day after comp recorded my deed I called DVC and spoke to the kind ladies that do all the transfers. She told me she could do mine that day for me. Sure enough my points got loaded around 5pm.

Was logged on 6/26 w/ the county.
I waited till day 14 and then called Member Accounting (option 3), and they were able to give me my member number. Then they transferred me to website IT, and they gave me my pin # to creat my account on line. After I did all that it just so happened my letter came in the mail that day too.

Used Timeshare Store (Scot) and Magic Title (Nancy) for BWV; very pleased; both were very helpful and timely; everything went smoothly.

Offer made & accepted: 5/18
Disney notified, ROFR process begins: 5/19
Passed ROFR: 6/16
Closing docs: 6/27
Closed: 7/3
Orange County Comptroller recorded: 7/7

Total time: 58 days (incl. Memorial Day & July 4 holidays)

It took us 97 days from making the offer to making reservations at home resort, VWL.

4/29 offer
4/30 accepted
5/1 Disney notified, ROFR began
5/30 ROFR waived
6/20 received closing docs by email and priority mailed to title company
6/23 buyer docs received by title company
7/14 closing amendment emailed
7/16 deed recorded
8/1 received title documents via u.s. Mail
8/4 received membership number through mail, made reservations

We were supposed to close around 6/25 but it took forever for the sellers to send their docs back properly. I started calling Member Accounting, Administration, and Services 10 days after recording but they were all adamant that we had to wait for member number in the mail.

For the record, the letter from Disney with the member number was postmarked 7/29 and even after that date the folks on the phone were still saying that they could not make reservations. That was the worst part of this whole process--being worried we would not be able to secure the kind of reservation we wanted and KNOWING that we were already in the system.

Still waiting to get everything (and the communication from TSS has been a little lacking), but I just looked up the Orange County records and see that the deed transfer was received yesterday (8/4), so hopefully we're not far away from getting everything in the mail from DVC. We aren't going back until August of next year, so as long as we have everything in before the middle of September we'll still be able to book 11 months out.

Here's my timeline so far:

5/23 offer
5/26 accepted (but sellers were on vacation and didn't get signed contracts in for a week or so)
6/3 Disney notified, ROFR began
6/30 ROFR waived
7/18 received closing docs by email
7/21 closing docs overnighted to title company
7/30 seller docs received by title company (they needed additional info from us for tax purposes because the sellers were foreign)
8/4 deed recorded

Hey guys, the Warranty Deed and the ROFR doc were both recorded today on the OCC website for our resale purchase of 215 BWV points w/ Dec UY.

If I'm understanding this correctly there should be a deed between Disney and my wife and me recorded as well. And then I can call Member Accounting to get my member # and log-in?

I'd love to make a ressie for May 2-10 2015 as soon as possible. Thanks!

You're probably looking at about 12-15 days till you get your member number from member accounting (option 3 on the phone)

Just don't be surprised if the people at Member Accounting tell you that you have to wait to receive the number in the mail. I had them tell me that a least at least five different times I called. I couldn't make reservations until my number came in the mail. Good luck!

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the reply.

Hey Section106 any updates? I'm right there with you date wise and I'm wondering if you've heard anything yet.

We leave in 18 days on a 2 week planned trip. Part of that trip is on a cash ressie and part is on rented DVC points. My contract has 200 banked 2013 points so I had HOPED to use some of those banked points (and cancel the cash ressie) before they would expire in April as we would not be going back before then. I was going to try and see if I could get any kind of studio even if I had to switch resorts.

I had called to explain that to see how much longer it may take. The ladies in accounting were awesome, but they said they had to transfer me to administration to see where they were in the process. They were less than helpful. When I explained the situation I found the reason they gave me comical. They told me they don't go out of order because of the Disboard :rotfl:. They said people post their timelines and if someone posted they had their points loaded earlier then someone else it would cause problems so they would not go out of order. They also told me it could take up to a month. Then they told me not to worry about it because if I could not use the banked points because I had already taken a trip and they could verify I took a trip, they would let me bank them again. They said they understand situations like this happen when you purchase and they make special exceptions when things like this happen. I repeated myself around three times and said you realize I'm talking about points that are already banked, 2013 banked points. I "HIGHLY" DOUBT they are going to let me rebank 2013 already banked points. At this point I think it's a lost cause no way I'm getting any studio 18 days out.

We had a great experience with JP at the Time Share Store and Nancy at Magic Vacation Title. We purchased 110 AKV points and 50 GCV points. The communication and professionalism shown throughout the entire transaction was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Glad your experience went well, we didn't have JP, but we did have Nancy and I can say follow up from both lacked. And as far as professionalism from Nancy, ahhh NOT. All I can say is I'm glad we closed and Im done with both parties. We do want to purchase another resale, but would have to think twice about that route again.

Just to update, we got our membership number mailing on Monday, 8/18, and called Member Services yesterday to get set up online. Therefore it was 84 days from the accepted offer until we had our membership number. We probably could have gotten it over the phone a few days sooner, but since our first trip under DVC won't be until August 2015, there was no rush for us.

I have done all 4 of my buying resale thru timeshare store and that time frame to close has always been around 60 to 75 days ,so I think it is normal .

Like a few others here just waiting on member number from DVC.
Deed Posted 8/8

As for the resale process it was pretty straightforward with JC and Nancy. Offer made and accepted in 1 day. Documents turned around in couple days and then the ROFR wait and estoppel wait all consistent with the times noted on here. Seller took 5 days to return documents where it took us 2 days. Again reasonable. Any email sent to Jamie or Nancy was answered clearly and quickly. I would do business with them again if needed.

Will update with actual dates when I get DVC letter as everyone's posting has been helpful to me.
