~~ Sew hot, Hot, HOT! ~~ A sweltering Aug 2013 TR ~ Pre-Trippie link posted! ~ 10/31!

Welcome! I am glad you are enjoying my TR - I have a lot of fun writing them! I do enjoy the time I have with my girls... I think back to all of the fantastic memories we have together, and I am just so lucky - and I know it - These amazing girls have touched my life in such incredible ways - I love every moment we spend together, whether it's here at home, or in Disney. I can only hope that every Mom is lucky enough to experience the same with their own children. I hope you'll continue to follow along... Even though I am getting close to wrapping this TR up - I will head back to the PTR section, as I have another trip to plan.
D~

I just wanted to tell you what a lovely tribute that was to your daughters. You are a wonderful mom!

Then I came home to work in my sewing room... I decided that I am putting this item together for my co-worker, whether it fits her or not.... I've let out an inch on each side by adding gussets, I can't do anything else to it - with out starting all over. So, it will either fit her or it won't - but I cannot spend any more time on it, as I am not going to get paid enough as it is. In the end - I've made it 2 sizes bigger than the measurments she gave me, I just can't do anything else. I feel badly about it. I will never, ever make a garment for anyone but us again... It's just too stressful!

D~

I would say you've done everything anyone could possibly expect. I hope it fits now. I also HATE making garments for other people. I rarely do it anymore, but if I do, I require that I am the one that measures the person and I always make a muslin sample for them to try on first.

I don't like making clothing for other adults, but I don't mind making kids stuff. I have, on occasion made adult clothing, but usually its for a very special occasion.

Congrats on your weight loss and going down 2 sizes. Hey, if you can get in the 14s and get them zipped, you are there. :cool1: I need to get moving again.

Glad you had a good shopping day with the girls and bff!

Awww...I love the sassy Main Street pose...you go girl!:thumbsup2

Hahaha... Thanks!

I am sure that she will be thrilled with the item. Making custom orders is tough. I made custom quilts for a short time. It turned out to be too much work for too little income. And I found out that I wasn't disciplined enough to work out of my home, either. There were too many distractions.

I know the feeling - which is why I have a "set schedule" for my sewing room... I try to always be up there by 9am (although - the last week I've been slacking, and it's been more like 10am) - and I work until the girls get off of the bus - sometimes a wee bit later, but not much. I try not to work weekends - if I do, only until noon... Since we usually have pretty lazy weekends and noon is about the time that we all get up and get moving - so I feel it's OK to work until every one is coherent. :rolleyes1 But I completely understand, sometimes it's very hard to get beyond the distractions and work .

Your Geppetto bag is really well done. You have great control over your applique stitches. Do you feel like you are "one with the machine"? When I did my machine quilting I almost felt like the machine was an extension of my arm. I know that must sound weird.

Actually - it's funny you bring this up, because DH and I were just talking about this recently. I've been having little annoying problems with my Rocketeer (my applique machine), and I was telling DH that maybe it's time I start looking for something different... So, I started looking on Craigslist - and I started thinking... There is no way I could applique on a different machine - I've formed "bonds" with these ones, and I just wouldn't feel right doing it on something else. It was at that time, I told Josh that if I did get a different machine - it would have to be the exact machine I have. :confused3 Yes, I do feel like these machines are an extention of my arms - it's the most bizarre thing ever, but I've never heard it described that way - however, that is exactly what it is. Trying to explain that to someone though - well - they wouldn't understand.

I'm keeping up with your TR. However, haven't been posting. Finally went back to work on Thursday. Plus getting ready for the trip. Leaving in 7 days, and arriving in 8. Can't wait, but so busy.

I am very glad you are back to work - just in time to not have to worry about not taking your trip. I was so worried for you.

is Josh's furlough pay going on his next paycheck? That seems to be the pattern here. My furlough pay is going on my next paycheck which will be directly deposited into my checking accoung on Oct 28, our first full day in the parks. I may have to dip into the vacation fund a little early this week (go to the credit union on Monday to transfer money over instead of going to the credit union on Friday). But I'll have the full amount of vacation money in my bank account by next Monday. I'll probably get a few hundred dollars more of Disney gift cards from Target this Wednesday (my day off). I have about $900 in gift cards; however I still have to buy my DD and DSIL's tickets (held out for the last minute in getting those), plus paying for two character meals. And of course, other things in the parks.

I believe so? I am not sure how it will work? I am sort of expecting it to be late because there is so much to be caught up on.

I am very happy you will have it in time for your trip, what a relief!

Oh I'm still here... More lurker than poster! We are under 365 days till our next trip! I'm so jealous of those going now but will so enjoy hearing about all their fun times! Enjoy the weekend! Rainy here!

Yay Ruth!!! What are your dates? Is it exactly 365?

I just wanted to tell you what a lovely tribute that was to your daughters. You are a wonderful mom!

Awww... Thank you! It's easy being a mom when you enjoy your children so much! They know it too... LOL

I would say you've done everything anyone could possibly expect. I hope it fits now. I also HATE making garments for other people. I rarely do it anymore, but if I do, I require that I am the one that measures the person and I always make a muslin sample for them to try on first.

I hope so... Yah... I should have made a muslin - I made one for myself and I made one for Victorai... That was total stupidity on my part. And I did measure her the first time (she was on my schedule last spring, but due to other financial commitments, she had so push it back), and I was going to measure her this time - but since she was "just fitted" for her sister's bridesmaid dress... Grrr... :scared: I should have insisted... Again - rookie mistake. Oh well - It better fit her - LOL.

I don't like making clothing for other adults, but I don't mind making kids stuff. I have, on occasion made adult clothing, but usually its for a very special occasion.

I enjoy making children's items as well.

Congrats on your weight loss and going down 2 sizes. Hey, if you can get in the 14s and get them zipped, you are there. I need to get moving again.

Thanks Tess... I think I just had a "whoosh" moment last week - honest... You know, that moment where the inches just seem to disappear. I had a pair of size 14 Levis in my drawer that I tried on 2 weeks ago - and I could hardly get them over my hips... I tried that exact pair on yesterday and they were on and buttoned - a hair tight - but they were on... Another week, and I think I could safely wear them out of the house. LOL So, I am getting close! I feel like I have so much further I want to go though.

Glad you had a good shopping day with the girls and bff!

Thank you - I did.

**********************************************************

We had a fun day yesterday... I finished that item yesterday morning in my sewing room... I just have a couple of accessories to make for it today - and I am DONE!

I took a short nap yesterday afternoon...

Then last night, the girls and I had a surprise birthday party to go to for my cousin... She turned 40. We had so much fun - it was great seeing some of my aunts and cousins that I haven't seen in years... Some of them I grew up very close to - but due to life, we don't get to see eachother very often. We relived some great memories... It was a lot of fun! We talked about doing a family Christmas this year - something we haven't done since the year my grandparents died (1996)... I hope this is something we can coordinate.

Today, the girls and I will be hanging around home... I have some protein bars I wanted to make yesterday that I didn't get around to doing. I also have to finish those accessories in my sewing room. A bit of laundry and a bit of cleaning to be done...

I am kind of excited for this week... I don't have any custom orders - instead I am working on a Christmas project for Josh's brother's family in The Netherlands. I am very excited to get started on this - as I have had the fabric for almost a year!

Speaking of Christmas... I wanted to make coordinating skirts for the girls and I to wear - I asked them yesterday if it's something they would be interested in, and Alli said "no way"... :sad2: Bummer... Oh well - glad I asked before I ordered the fabric. I ordered enough for myself - and if Victoria decides she wants one after she sees mine, I will have enough to make her's. I don't plan to make mine until the beginning of December though, because I would hate to change size before then. I am very excited about the fabrics though - they are so classic/christmas with out being in your face Christmas. :wizard: And I purchased some of the coordinating FUN fabric for the underhem... I love FUN underhems!!!

I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday!!! :wizard:

Alisha informed me she got a good work out at the MOA. I asked if it was from walking or carrying bags. Want to guess her answer?:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sounds like you had a busy day.

Too bad Ali didn't want matching skirt, but better to know ahead of time.

Have a great day.

Hey D- I have been faithfully trying to get caught up, it seems like I was always 5-10 pgs behind, and did not get to post I was so caught up in reading! So, there is so much to comment on that my almost-50 year old brain cannot remember! Here are just a few things that pop up.

You and your girls are so beautiful together and I am so envious of the time ya'll get to spend at Disney. I have two boys, which is a whole different ball game and Mom time with boys is quite different, especially at my boy's ages. You have built beautiful memories and thank you so much for sharing your Disney magic with us. The pics are priceless. Your expressions show so much joy and fun, it shows what a beautiful Mom you are. And you have inspired me lady! Inspired me to be a more patient mom; and inspired me to try to eat right and keep myself healthy.

You were kind enough to share your TA with me; our short but sweet trip back to WDW in February has been given a good dose of discount magic thanks to your TA. We have been in contact quite a bit! I am draaaaaging DH and sons along, very reluctantly. I am ignoring DH's eye rolls. Ha ha, I think?

I love your bags, they are so amazing. One of the days I might have a D original! The Cheshire bag keeps coming back to me. My all time fave. Now you are branching out making clothes for you! You go girl, the pics Alli took of you are so good! You rock! How many times have people told you how much Alli looks like you?

Did I miss your next trip announcement? I looked all over for it and did not see it? Did you book while you were there? Or you still holding us in suspense? I cannot WAIT to follow along.

That is all for now! Thanks for taking all of the time to share!! Have a wonderful Sunday.

Hi D~!!
I finally stopped by, I got all caught up on your trip thanks to you handy link index, thanks!
Love all the Dis meets and looks like you guys had a great time!

I really like the Pinocchio bag but I really couldn't justify another one of your bags right now so I didn't bid :(

Your latest bag turned out great. I can understand getting attached to a sewing machine. I'm like that wich my Kenmore. When it was broken I looked at other machines but decided it was worth fixing it. I wouldn't have been happy with another one. Now it sews better than whenit was new.
I haven't been around much because work has been crazy. We're resetting the electronics complex for Christmas. I spent most of last week resetting the movies. Yesterday we filled. Part of the problem is we're short handed. My closest work friend is on medical leave and another had a death it the family. We can't replace them and wouldn't want to they're an important part of the team. We do have a new part timer in photo so that helps.
Nothing in the freezer was salvagible by the time I realized what had happened it was too late and everything had thawed out. We're looking for a small one to replace it.

Just wanted to let you know that I am FINALLY caught up! OMG...I shall never go away again without keeping up with your posts. I was over 10 pages behind!! That's what I get for going on vacation to WDW! :lmao:

Just a few quick comments: V's interaction with PUSH is just awesome! So glad that she got to "meet" him. I love the pics with little V. She is just adorable and it sounds like your girls and her got along just great! Merida is simply stunning and I LOVE the red hair. I'm a little ashamed to say that I haven't seen BRAVE yet! :confused3 The Pinocchio bag turned out really cute! The facial expressions on Geppetto and puppet Pinocchio are spot on...GREAT job!

I can't wait to read more....and hopefully keep up a little better! :thumbsup2

Glad you did ask before you bought the material. That's kind of sad she doesn't want to match anymore. I'm going to be so sad the day I can't get my kids to match anymore. Even though right now it's just basically Halloween costumes.

Hope you don't mind but I thought I'd share them trying on their costumes the other night. They look soooo cute!!

Hope your able to get everything done for you new nephew this week. Can't wait to hear what you're making.

That’s great that you are finally able to work on the project for Josh's brother's family. I hope you are able to complete it in time for Christmas.

I’m sorry Alli didn't want matching outfits. At least you asked first! I'm lucky, right now, DD loves having her outfits match mine, but I know my days are numbered and she won’t want that all too soon.

Ladylyons - I love the costumes. They are great!

Alisha informed me she got a good work out at the MOA. I asked if it was from walking or carrying bags. Want to guess her answer?

Hahaha... Well - I hope she was able to get a bunch of great deals then!

Sounds like you had a busy day.

Too bad Ali didn't want matching skirt, but better to know ahead of time.

Have a great day.

I know... I was totally going to coordinate with them and everything - but it would have been subtle... Oh well. I will just look great with myself.

Hey D- I have been faithfully trying to get caught up, it seems like I was always 5-10 pgs behind, and did not get to post I was so caught up in reading! So, there is so much to comment on that my almost-50 year old brain cannot remember! Here are just a few things that pop up.

Hey!!! Thanks for checking in... My TR has been moving awful slow lately - so I am glad you were able to catch up.

Thanks!!! I am not always the most patient mom - that's for sure... :rolleyes1 And I am sure they will tell you that I nag them like crazy (which I do... LOL) - but I love them and I love to goof around with them... They are great girls - and they bring me so much happiness. I am very lucky.

Yay - I am glad to hear you are trying to eat right and stay healthy... It's not easy. I always go in spurts... And I pray each time I lose the weight that this will be the last time, as it's getting harder and harder to lose it the older I get. This time.... Well, I really hope it's the last, because it's been very hard to keep at it with out any visible results for so long.

Yay!!! I LOVE my TA!!! She is the BESTEST!!!! :wizard:

I love your bags, they are so amazing. One of the days I might have a D original! The Cheshire bag keeps coming back to me. My all time fave. Now you are branching out making clothes for you! You go girl, the pics Alli took of you are so good! You rock! How many times have people told you how much Alli looks like you?

Thank you... Yah - the clothes thing for me, well - it's a bit of a strange area for me to get into... But I really love the dress I made for myself - and I am a bit anxious to make my skirt for Christmas.

I love that Alli has learned how to use her camera so well in such a short time - I am very proud of her!

LOL Actually - Alli and I are told that VERY frequently... We had this lady come up to us a few years ago at the grocery store, and she was screaming "Oh my G.... TWINS!!!!" - So, Alli and I always say that when someone tells us that we look alike. LOL Believe it or not, Victoria looks A LOT like me when I was little - and Alli looks a lot like me as an adult... Which is strange, because they don't look very much like eachother at all. :confused3

Did I miss your next trip announcement? I looked all over for it and did not see it? Did you book while you were there? Or you still holding us in suspense? I cannot WAIT to follow along.

Hahaha... Nope, I haven't announced it yet - I have been keeping it a tightly guarded secret. popcorn::

That is all for now! Thanks for taking all of the time to share!! Have a wonderful Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you had a nice weekend too!

Hi D~!!
I finally stopped by, I got all caught up on your trip thanks to you handy link index, thanks!

LOL I think that a proper Table of Contents is key for writing a TR... Super happy to have you here Tracy!

Love all the Dis meets and looks like you guys had a great time!

We did - it was a lot of FUN!

I really like the Pinocchio bag but I really couldn't justify another one of your bags right now so I didn't bid

Hahaha.... I totally understand!! :wizard:

Your latest bag turned out great. I can understand getting attached to a sewing machine. I'm like that wich my Kenmore. When it was broken I looked at other machines but decided it was worth fixing it. I wouldn't have been happy with another one. Now it sews better than whenit was new.

That's awesome - I am super happy you were able to fix yours!

I love this time of year at work - we are always so busy, my shifts go by so fast!

My condolances for your coworker - such a hard time of year to lose someone.

Nothing in the freezer was salvagible by the time I realized what had happened it was too late and everything had thawed out. We're looking for a small one to replace it.

That is such a bummer... I hope you are able to find something to replace it with.

Just wanted to let you know that I am FINALLY caught up! OMG...I shall never go away again without keeping up with your posts. I was over 10 pages behind!! That's what I get for going on vacation to WDW!

Hahaha... Super happy to have you back... Cannot wait to start reading your TR!

Just a few quick comments: V's interaction with PUSH is just awesome! So glad that she got to "meet" him.

Me too! It was definatly a highlight of our day!

I love the pics with little V. She is just adorable and it sounds like your girls and her got along just great!

They did - it was so cute!

Merida is simply stunning and I LOVE the red hair. I'm a little ashamed to say that I haven't seen BRAVE yet!

Brave is definately not one of my favorite Disney movies... but I am glad I saw it.

The Pinocchio bag turned out really cute! The facial expressions on Geppetto and puppet Pinocchio are spot on...GREAT job!

Thank you!

I can't wait to read more....and hopefully keep up a little better!

Well, I cannot wait for you to start really writing your TR!

Glad you did ask before you bought the material. That's kind of sad she doesn't want to match anymore. I'm going to be so sad the day I can't get my kids to match anymore. Even though right now it's just basically Halloween costumes.

Yah - I am sad it's over - not that we ever started... Since I never sewed - there wasn't much of an opportunity to coordinate before... Oh well...

Hope you don't mind but I thought I'd share them trying on their costumes the other night. They look soooo cute!!

OMG!!!! THey are soooooooo adorable!!!! I just want to smooch them all!!! They are going to have so much fun on Halloween!!!

Hope your able to get everything done for you new nephew this week. Can't wait to hear what you're making.

Thank you! Me too!

That’s great that you are finally able to work on the project for Josh's brother's family. I hope you are able to complete it in time for Christmas.

Me too!!! I am very excited for it!

I’m sorry Alli didn't want matching outfits. At least you asked first! I'm lucky, right now, DD loves having her outfits match mine, but I know my days are numbered and she won’t want that all too soon.

Oooh yes, enjoy every moment of it!!! You are very lucky!

**********************************************************

I really don't have much exciting to update from yesterday...

We had a really boring day at home...

I made the protein bars - they turned out really good... HOwever, even though they are high in protein - they are also VERY high in calories, so I must be careful. LOL

I started on the family project - and I made a nice dent in it... I hope to make a HUGE dent in it this week!

I plan to do a TR update shortly... I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

D~

Oh yes... We were just on our way to check in at Beast's castle for our dinner at Be Our Guest...

IMG_1198.jpg

IMG_1199.jpg

As we were checking in... Someone came and tapped me on the shoulder - it was Bernadette... They had 3 extra FPs for Winnie the Pooh - which they weren't going to use... AWESOME!!!! Thanks Bernadette!

So, we got ourselves all checked in... And we waited... It was super HOT there. It was then that we noticed the GIANT container of ice water with lemon!!!! You all know that is my drink of choice... I was so excited. I must have filled my glass 10x over.

IMG_1201.jpg

It was a bit later when we were called in.

IMG_1202.jpg

IMG_1203.jpg

IMG_1204.jpg

We were led to our table by CM Dee... She was sooo sweet!!! Seriously. I was a bit disappointed, at first, that we were seated in the West Wing, but once I looked around and realized how few seats were in that area, I realized that we were pretty lucky. CM Dee told us about all the other dining rooms, and she also told the girls that there was ONE hidden Mickey in that room - and she would be back later to see if they could find it.

IMG_1208.jpg

IMG_1209.jpg

IMG_1210.jpg

IMG_1211.jpg

We ordered our food...

V & D = Steak (upon the recommendation of our server at LTT on our frist MK day)
Alli = Rattitouille...

While we were waiting for our food to arrive, true to her word, CM Dee came back to check on the girls and see if they found the hidden Mickey yet.

IMG_1214.jpg

IMG_1212.jpg

IMG_1213.jpg

But when Alli tasted the rattitouille, she had to ask for steak - she said it was really bad. When they finally brought the steak out - it was wonderful. I do have to say that our meals were very good. Loved everything about them! I would definatly have the steak again!

Rattitouille:

Steak:

IMG_1217.jpg

And, of course - they had to park the dessert cart right next to our table for what seemed to be forever.

IMG_1218.jpg

And since we were celebrating the girls' birthdays at this meal...

IMG_1219.jpg

It was basically gray tinted whipped cream.

I do have to note that our server was not the nicest CM around... I did not take down his name or write anything in particular about him in my trip journal, but he was quite snotty many times, and just over all aloof. Maybe that's the "character" of the servers here? Not sure - but Dee was super nice, so I don't think so. However, he was very nice when he offered to take our picture together at the table...

IMG_1220.jpg

Dessert - we all ordered the strawberry cupcake:

IMG_1221.jpg

When we were finished with our meal, we walked around the castle to see the other dining rooms...

IMG_1222.jpg

IMG_1223.jpg

IMG_1225.jpg

On our way out - we were invited to meet our host - The Beast. While we were waiting in line, the Photopass Photographer's assistant came up to me, since we were next, I handed her my PP+ card...

We met the Beast, had our photos taken...

Photo1793FourBySix.jpg

Photo1796FourBySix.jpg

When we were all done, I went to grab my PP+ card from the photographer... I had a puzzled look on my face... She was scanning a NEW PP card... Um... Where is my PP+ Card? She told me that she was never given one. WHAT??? I had given it to the lady standing right next to her (which I found out, was not her asst... She was the Character Handler)... That CM had given our PP+ card to the family ahead of us!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!! 10 days worth of PP photos GONE!!! Every last one of them!!!! I was so mad!!!! And these CMs didn't seem to care at all... Grrrr...

So, off we went... Victoria went to get in line to meet Tiana and Naveen...

And Alli and I went off to the Photopass counter at the front of the park to see if we could get all of our photos back... I just wanted to cry!

Link to Day 9 Part I

Hi D~ Loved the update. Stinks about the PP. I have been on the fence about BOG but have a ressie for dinner just because I want to check out the castle.

We leave on Friday I can't believe it is almost here. I started a cold last friday and am home today. Hopefully, the doctor will pump me up with meds so I can get to N Carolina and then WDW,

Hope you have a great week. I look forward to seeing all of your new sewing projects and hearing about all of the super secret goings on.

Jane

Last December, we were in the main ballroom. Afterwards when we walked into the West Wing Mr D had a meltdown. The lightening show had just started.

Needless to say we will have to eat in the Main ballroom...

Nini

:scared1: I would have been furious about the PP+ pictures. I know you have been posting your PP pics here so we know you retrieved them, but how upsetting especially near the end of your vacation. :sad2:

Glad you did ask before you bought the material. That's kind of sad she doesn't want to match anymore. I'm going to be so sad the day I can't get my kids to match anymore. Even though right now it's just basically Halloween costumes.

Hope your able to get everything done for you new nephew this week. Can't wait to hear what you're making.

Love the costumes...love Peter Pan!

Too much to quote.
But I have to say seeing you three of our last day was a definite highlight! I was doing okay, but really i was not up for much of anything an were it not for your girls, v probably would not have gone on any rides that day, but she got to go on two of her favorites.

I did have to laugh when you commented that you had v and I was not there. I wasNOT at all worried!

Love the new bags!

Planning to talk to v's mom about next August or October very soon. I would like to o one more time in 2014 because as soon as 2015 starts... I have some life changes I need to start planning for :)

No way...
Clearly you got your pictures back otherwise you wouldn't have been to post the prior pictures!!!!
Right??

I cannot wait to try BOG!!! would you go back there?

Awww, BOG!!!! I want so badly to try it sometime. It looks like such a gorgeous restaurant! :wizard: I am thinking trying it as a QS when I go back to WDW in 2015 would be a great idea. ::yes::

Hmmmm...makes me wonder about the Ratatouille...because I want to make some of that stuff when we have our Ratatouille movie night. We have never tried it at all. I hope the recipe I have "pinned" is better than what BOG serves. :thumbsup2

I'm glad that you enjoyed your BOG dinner. We have both a fp reservation for lunch and a dinner reservation for our upcoming trip. I really just want to see the inside of the castle and the lunch menu looks a little more appealing, and cheaper, than the dinner menu. Have you had a chance to have lunch there?
