***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

Aha! I went back through the online check-in and afterwards the "Manage Magic Bands" changed to "Personalize Magic Bands"... Woohoo!!! :)

I checked again and actually there is a blue link under my name for that ticket that says "reassign ticket". All the other tickets I have registered to everyone are already partially used tickets and they all say "not transferrable" under each name.
So it looks like the ability to reassign an unused ticket is already built into the system.:thumbsup2
I can only assume that if I reassigned the ticket to someone else the FP+s that were made with it would disappear from my profile and schedule;)

I haven't had an unused ticket recently, but I know you see the "reassign ticket" when you link in all the tickets under your profile, but haven't "handed them off" to your party members.

Have you assigned them, and still have that option?

So excited to try these! I customized my bands already.

The fast pass selection is a little weird. I just have to get use to it. So we can't get any in the park if we choose online, right?

That was the question that I asked. My DW has a friend down there now that says she can get a FP+ in the park for other rides/attractions, as long as the time is not within the hour timeframe that her other FP+ are.

According to the FP+ FAQ, if you haven't scheduled a FP+, you can get them in the park if there are any left. Doesn't say you can't get them if you've already scheduled in advance. I would think you can since people are able to pull 5+ FP per day the old way. I'm sure a lot of people will think this is a downgrade if you are only able to get 3 per day, especially with no park hopping.

All the reports thus far are that you can't get more than 3 (4 if you get the MK bonus FP+), whether you selected in advance or not, or used them up. So either this is a mistake, or a change, or a glitch in your friend's favor. In the meantime you can still get regular FPs.

True. It might be that the friend is getting regular fast passes in between her FP+. I am sure many people use the names interchangeably -- not DISers of course.

I had her ask specifically that it was FP+ and not FP. Her friend goes every year, so she's pretty well versed in the lingo.

Am doing a split stay in early November. First 1/2 week i'm at Saratoga Springs, have rented points and have taken the meal plan. Also, purchased a 2 day pass for this part of the week. So far, no magicband for this and I cannot make any fastpass selections on MDE (tho it is linked on it)
The second 1/2 week is a package booked at Caribbean Beach with a 1 day pass. For this we have magicbands (or will be getting in the mail soon -just customized them) and have been able to book fastpass selections for that day.
Even if I do not get magicbands for SSR, what do you think the chances are, of when I check in at SSR, show them the magicbands and ask if they can link them to my stay there on arrival? Its not like im asking for new magicbands, cause I already have them for the other stay in a few days.
Sorry if this is long winded, i'm just getting excited about my trip lol.

Yes, I assigned the unused ticket to myself and it shows up on my Reservations page info with all the others and has my name next to it, but it is the only one that has the blue "reassign ticket" link under my name. All the other pre-used tickets, including my AP have "not transferable" under the assigned names. So it looks like I could actually transfer that ticket to someone before I use it if I needed/wanted to. I'm afraid to click that link and see what happens - I don't have that much faith in Disney IT - it could disappear!!;)

It's interesting that that one ticket does not show up on the tickets and bands page - but the system allowed me to make FP+ s with it.

Interesting, and somewhat crazy (IMHO) how this whole thing has been set up. The way they give you preassigned times and schedule options at first and then you have to go in and individually change them to make them work for you is a pain - but I believe that Disney is hoping that the majority of guests will just use their preassigned options and never know how to change them. Gives them a little more control - as if they're not taking enough.

You can get regular paper facepasses like normal even if you opt into the fp+ program???

Im trying to decide if we should try this.

It would be nice to not have to find my key card.

Do all shops take the magic bands as payment just like the old key cards?

Hey quick question we are going in November but we have a split stay, I was able to pick fast passes for all the days on my reservation, but when it went to customize the magic bands it gave me four two for our SSR stay and two for OKW... Question is my ap gonna be linked to both bands and after I check out am I gonna have to switch bands.

SSR (along with all resorts) would be live then, so it is puzzling that you didn't get the option - but they should be able to utilize the other magicbands fine.

Currently yes. It's still expected that regular FP will go away at some point after FP+ is available to everyone.

The magicbands will in fact for the most part be used interchangeably. It's like having multiple physical tickets, but they all share the same entitlements.

As for HAVING to switch bands...maybe someone who has already done a split stay can say for certain, but like I said, they seem to be interchangeable at this point.

so how do you still get reg fp with mb don't you have to put your key card in fp machine for it to spit out paper ticket?

They are currently also giving KTTW cards to guests as a backup device, and they work in the FP kiosks. If you have a separate AP, that works as well.

Question: If we get there and can't use both FP systems, and after our first day or two decide the FP+ just isn't working for us, can we "cancel" out of the FP+ trial and just use the normal FPs for the rest of our trip?

darn your good ty...

Now all I have to do is get over the fact that it has rfid chip in it lol ...

so basically if you hate the band you could just switch to using the card or say my lovely hubby doesn't like the idea lol he can switch.... smart disney
