Any guests arriving November 1 to 30 receive FP+ testing invites?

Good morning fellow November travelers!

I had to assume that there was no good news for us this morning when I logged on and found this thread at the bottom of page 2 :headache:

Maybe this week???? I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope :confused3
 


A fellow DISer posted yesterday in reply to one of my posts and said that at one point the MB had to be customized by 10 days out to have them sent to your home, by 5 days out to be picked up at your resort and if both those deadlines pass you will get the grey at checkin

Did I check MDE this am uh No the way I see it since I check in on Nov 3rd I may not see any notice to customize until mid October. I guess I am losing interest being a bit disalusioned with the entire MB/FP+ process and rather than Continueing to stress out over my issues with the UT I give up worrying over something which is totally beyond my control.

Right now the bands must be customized by 30 days out and ship at 29 days out for those that have that amount of time (or more) remaining before their check in. For those who get the opportunity to customize Magic Bands less than 30 days out you will have 24 hours to customize and they will ship the next day. Definitely keep checking your reservation and these boards so you will see when the link goes live for you.

This program is still in its testing/roll out phase. Being disillusioned with it is, IMO, a bit premature. Nothing is set in stone right now and kinks are being worked out. I think your idea to give up worrying is a good one. Worrying is just wasted energy and, as you said, this is beyond your control. I understand that you want your trip to go well, but I find that relaxing a bit and going with the flow always makes my trip better.

I know you say you are losing interest, but I have no doubt that once that link goes live for you you will be right back in it. :)

I also wonder about the shipping as of now MB are being shipped Fedx but once it is 30 days for all resorts I would think they may be shipped by a less expensive method or perhaps everyone will get them at check in?

I always had total faith in Disney but after my recent experience with the UT tickets not linking properly Some of the magic just is not there for me anymore.
 


My inlaws are traveling with us. If I link their reservation and tickets to my MDE account (right now they are on my "friends" list) will I be able to control everything for them? They don't do "the online thing" and I had all the info here today to put in the system, but wanted to make sure this is even possible. My hope is to be able to customize their bands and get FP+ for all of us if/when it goes live.

(Sorry, over 2 years since our last trip and so much new info, I can't keep up!)

If you look at the reports from guests who have actually used or are currently using the bands, you will see that they are mostly glowing. Reading these boards gives one a false sense of reality. All of the issues are being picked apart and over analyzed here which is skewing perceptions. I do understand that there have been problems (I have had a couple myself) but I feel that the IT department is doing their best to fix them. Again, this is a testing phase and preliminary roll out. All of these issues are normal for such a big project.

They are being shipped UPS, not FedEx. Eventually the plan is to ship them via the USPS.

I understand your frustration, but please try to relax and just go with the flow. I know that can be hard to do when you want to plan the perfect vacation, but your stress is only affecting you. My strategy in times like this is to accept a worst-case scenario. It somehow frees me from becoming overly stressed about things I can't control. Once I accept that things might not be "perfect" I always have a much better time.

Unless they will be traveling to WDW in the future without you, you can keep them on your list and you don't have to link. Just edit their profiles to "This person often travels with me" and they will move up to your family. You will then be able to see their park tickets on your My Reservations page.

If they do travel to WDW without you they will want their own account. Once they set up you can link to them. Just click on the envelope icon next to the account holder's name that says Invite. Follow the prompts to link the accounts. They will then need to accept the invation. After that you go to Add A Guest and click on Select from Mutual Friends. Use the drop down menu to select the person you linked to. Their friends/family will then load and you can add each person.

Oh I know I have read many guests reports of loving the MB/FP+ at this time. In fact I have a friend there now able to change FP+ on the fly after being able to double dip and use the KTTW card to get the regular FP's

I do have to wonder what will transpire once All resorts are live and there are not as many FP+ to go around.

I am mainly only interested in the FP option for lunch at BOG. Maybe F! And a few newer attractions.

You see we tour the same way we did on our first trip back in 1989 if we see a short line we go get in it, we have never once used a FP there are many new attractions we have never done but to go at rope drop is not our style, running for FP for TSM is out of the question we are 60 and 61 years young and I use an ECV do to my disability.

The FP+ might have allowed us to Expierence some of the most popular new attractions if only I can get our tickets linked

There is hope as I just read of someone with a similar issue and IT being able to fix it :)
 
I'm still 62 days out so not getting worried yet or watching on a daily basis. On Thursday, 59 days out, I will start watching for it daily. Not sure if I'm going to do online checkin until some definitive answers are given for November.

Online check-in yet another thing I am wondering if I should have done or not :confused3

I did it for the first time ever, I normally wait as I usually have room requests that are important but this trip I decided to try it.

Only one slight problem it did not link the CC stored in my profile came up with an error and I get the same error when I attempted a re-do by modifying check-in.
I suppose this will be an issue if we get MB's :confused:
 
I'm at 47 days for WL check in and still no customize MB option. Didn't really expect on though, since the DISboard wasn't going wild with new traffic. :rotfl2:

I did try to modify my check in this weekend and kept getting an error message. Tried again this morning, same thing. Wonder if we are flooding the system :scared1: with check in modifications since it was posted that some people were able to customize MBs after modifying their check in. :lmao:

So I wait. And I look. I also have every faith it will show up eventually. Not sure what I will do with the remaining days if I don't have MDE to monitor daily. More DISboards I guess! :worship:
 
Except there is no coordinating with MBs. It's your room key, and park ticket only IF you link the tickets. Those staying on property can have them, others not, at least right now. The coordination nightmares are from trying to coordinate FP+ which you can use or ignore, whether you customize MBs or not. FP+ reservations are linked to your MDE account, and only utilize the MB to get on the ride. Hope this makes sense...

Sorry for not making myself clear. The coordination issues are with the FP+ but to me MB and FP + are one in the same. If I get magic bands and do not use FP+ there is a chance I will have no FP use at all. Right now they are letting people double dip, but there is absolutely no way to tell that will continue. As a matter if fact there terms specifically say you opt out of the regular FP system if you get MBs. So I can't risk having no FPs at all.
 
I am nov 12th pop century. Already did my online check in and paid my trip in full!! Just waiting now. I check twice a day! Lol

The do show on her page but on my page when I click on the my reservations page it just shows me a d our DD. her tickets do show on her page under the reservations page. Just need to know if I need to call or if that's normal?

Also both my wife and I both show that we have 2 separate tickets do you know how we can get the 2nd ticket removed?

On my MDE it shows my AP and my DDs APs, but not DH. I too was wondering if that us normal.

Under my DDs it says "you manage this account" but under DH is says something like "edit and view all plans".
 
Well, I couldn't stand it and I had to call today to verify that my ticket problem was really in the system and sent to the powers that be to get it fixed. I am happy to report that it has been forwarded to them. However, I am a little bummed that the person I spoke to last week said I should hear back from them and it should be resolved in a week but today the CM said it is taking them about 3 weeks to fix the linking ticket issues. At least that is probably more realistic and I can leave them alone for a few weeks :rotfl2:
