Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Our room is a Navigators Verandah also. It looks fine. I think the wall around the balcony will help with the wind. Would love to hear from someone who has been in a Navigator Verandah.

I think the veranda has a large porthole that is the view instead of the basic complete open over the railing.

I noticed in some of the Navigators posted on these boards that "nominal fee" was sometimes listed for activities.

1. If an activity does have a fee, is it always listed on the Navigator?
2. Can anyone give me ideas of things that have fees, and of approximate costs?

(Almost everything was free on my first cruise, and on my second, almost everything had a charge...both on Carnival)

Thanks!

The fee activities you actually sign up for at Guest Services and get a ticket delivered to the cabin. They are things like wine and beer tastings or something that would normally be an additional cost. Fees are not huge, but close to what you would pay for a few drinks. They also usually have some free activities that require you to sign up like Tea with Alice or a Galley tour. You also get the tickets for these activities. It is a smart move to send someone from your party to Guest Services when you get on the ship to sign up for these things. You will not know what they are until you get on the ship.

I'm so excited. I live in Long Beach and I drive by the cruise departure building M-F on my way to work. It's really getting my excitement revved up.

I've seen a few people say they're single women travelers as am I and it would be nice if we could get together occasionally for drinks or activities. Any interest in a meetup the 1st day or so on board? We could designate a location and time and get to know each other. I don't think I have enough posts yet, but I'll keep adding so you can DM me.

Saw a question about this earlier. I bring a plastic drinking cup (Disney of course!) with a lid and straw and use it up on Deck 9 to get a drink for the room or the pool. It's unbreakable which is good and easily refillable as well as easily washed!

Those drinks up there are all free.

Any previous PC cruisers recall if they did something where they offered a discount on a bag of laundry to be cleaned and pressed? I seem to recall that I have heard of them doing that...
We were on the WBPC cruise in May 2013 - no laundry deals on that one.
Does anyone remember if there are bath robes available in the cabins ?
No bathrobes in the cabins.

Got our cabin #2578. Glad to have the large porthole!:cool1:

Hi neighbor! I just got my cabin, too, and I'm nextdoor. :)
I'm so happy that I'm on deck 2, although I generally prefer the 2 forward locations to midship.

On Wonder and Magic we have usually seen the boarding day sign ups in Rock'n Bar D after 3 they were at Guest Services, on the Dream they were at Guest Services from the start - you may want to ask at check in to see where they are set up.

This is from All Ears - - - - -
-- Disneyland Park will be open from 8 p.m. until the 13th Hour (1 a.m.) on September 13 -- Friday the 13th, as it also will "Unleash the Villains." Town Square will be transformed for the party, where guests may see villains like Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts, Judge Frollo and Lady Tremaine. Cobwebs and vines, Halloween-themed projections, lighting effects and fog set the tone for the evening. Witches and warlocks will get the dance party started, spinning a mix of upbeat Halloween tunes and Disney-friendly Top 40 hits. Later in the evening, the celebration spills over to New Orleans Square Train Station with Disney villains and the Unleash the Villains Dance Party, which will feature a lit-up dance floor and raised platforms, spooky decor and lighting effects. A mischievous station master DJ conducts this party -- announcing the arrival of a different ghoulish Disney villain at the 13th minute after every hour. Villains will be on the prowl after dusk for photo ops and character greetings, plus a few special surprises.

Well, the mailman was, by far, my favorite person today! He brought our kids' passports! We are all set and ready to go! Well, not really.... Since we didn't know for sure that we were going until those passports arrived, I haven't done a thing to get the four of us packed or to make our transfer arrangements. I guess I better get a'workin! We leave a week from tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fabulous news! You can do it!! Looking forward to meeting you and your brood on board.

This is good to know. Thank you! Years ago, on my first Carnival Cruise, everything was free. On my Christmas Carnival Cruise last year, everything had fees, except for air and water.
