Hello, we (self, husband, 12yo DD, 7yo DD, 5yo DD/DS twins) will be on this cruise with you all. We booked today, got an awesome military rate on two adjoining verandah staterooms! Blessed to be able to use the military discount, as a family of 6 we could't afford it every year otherwise. Soooo excited. We went on the Dream last October for 4 nights, it was the best family vacation we have ever had. We were sad this sailing didn't hit Castaway Cay, but we are excited to travel on the "re-imagined" ship with some ports of call my kids haven't seen yet.
We plan on going out to the beach, maybe to see the Sea turtles in Grand Cayman, but probably will skip Cozumel.
I saw some folks were discussing the martini mixing class, can we sign up for that on our activities or do we have to wait until we get on the ship?
We requested to have the animators palace twice on the rotation, and we were told about the newest restaurant which will have a Latin flare. We are having a Palo dinner on the second night and Palo brunch on the last day.
Any advice on other shore excursions or tips/tricks about this particular ship would be welcomed! Look forward to meeting you all!
I notice you only have 5 posts.....you will need to have 10 posts before you can send PM about FEs. So....post away.
Just dining. Linking will seat you together at tables or groups of tables if there is a large group. It is a nice way to get to know others. One person on late and one person on early would need to take care of linking. It involves getting names and reservation numbers of those who want to link and then getting that info to your TA if you have one or DCL if you do not have a TA. That person would also need to let the TA/DCL know if there are families/friends within that group that want to be seated at a table together. Sounds more complicated than it is - just make a list with the info and get that info to TA/DCL. Last cruise they did not have us at the table with our group as requested, but we went to dining manager as soon as we boarded and got it straightened out.
Did you get my message? I don't see it in my sent items so I'm wondering if it never went through or if I just dreamt I sent it
Yes, I did get it. Sorry, I should have replied so you would know I got it.
Myself and Hubby will be joining everyone for our very first Cruise (and hopefully not last) I have been trying to get him to do this for years. I figure this will be a great cruise to get everything figured out. We are late seating for dinner, I have the 3 pm meet in my notes, and would love to join the FE so will send a PM next. Looking forward to meeting everyone =}

Hello and welcome!
My name is Jay and my (much) better half is Katie.
This will be our first visit to Grand Cayman so I won't be much help with advice there. However, DW and I are big fans of the martini tastings so I can steer you in the right direction there! As a matter of fact, we did the martinis twice on or last cruise as Alex (on the Dream) promised different recipes. She delivered. You can't book any tastings/classes (martini, mixology, tequila/margarita, beer, wine, whiskey- I know I'm missing some...) ahead of time. DW and I usually make a beeline for guest services on boarding and book a couple (really! just a couple!) . We're planning a little meeting on the first afternoon so we can compare notes. Hopefully we can hit some of the same tastings. We did that with our FE group last July and it was a blast.
Looking forward to meeting you too!
Also, Pooh_Girl, ppruett1, or any others with second seating, I am open to linking for dining. I will run the disclaimer that we are not traveling with our boys (this is a surprise to DW for our anniversary- no she doesn't know yet) so it will just be us adults. Children do not bother us at all but we do enjoy the occasional cocktail or two. We're not drunks but may show up with a relaxed grin- particularly after a tastings.
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Hello Peeps! Just booked this cruise using the MTO discount! (Moms retired) It will be 8 of us on this cruise; we have 2 connecting rooms. Does anyone have any experience with sailing in Nov? We have sailed on the Dream and the Magic during Spring Break. (both times) How cold will it be?
We are so excited to be sailing on the "new" Magic! We just booked today when the Florida resident rates came out. We've sailed on all 4 ships and can't wait to sail on the Magic again. We are retirees living our dream on the gulf coast about 2 hours from WDW. Previous Disney cruises:
Wonder - 7-2006 (our 40th wedding anniversary)
Dream - 7-2011 (our 45th wedding anniversary(
Magic - 4-2012
Dream - 9-2012
Fantasy - 10-2012
Fantasy - 5-2013
Can't wait for this cruise!!!
We are on the late dining so if anyone wants to link let me know!!
DH and I are on the late dining and would like to link. We are in stateroom 6522. Let me know if you need our names to link. We are interested in the FE, would love to do a tasting of anything alcoholic while onboard Am looking forward to meeting folks in the Promenade Lounge at 3 on the first day. In case you all didn't notice, I am really excited about cruising again. First cruise on the Magic. Next November hope to cruise on the Fantasy to complete all four ships.
