Thanks! Are you facing the movie lawn and still can't hear it??

I'm not PP, but I'm in room 4137 - faces the movie lawn, first floor. You can hear the movie (9pm to 10:15pm approx.) but pretty muffled if your AC is running. I doubt it would upset a young child sleeping. The movie screen is set up at the farthest part of the lawn from my room (see portorleans.org for map) and the sound seems to be there too. The people and horse drawn carriages going by make more noise (a lovely noise though), but none of it a lot of noise. For a quiet room you probably would prefer bldgs 1 or 7. They spent a lot of time cleaning the bricks areas near us, for example.

I love this room location. My kids can go to the campfire (which as of yesterday is moved permanently to a newly build brick fire pit at the end of the lawn area with the movie, nearest to the river) and the movie without me, and I can see them from our window. And, they have a quick bathroom break during the movie if they need it. It's great.

We were in Building 1, on the far side towards the parking lot. It really is such a small resort that I honestly don't remember it being that far of a hike to the bus stop. Or the pool either, for that matter. And, quiet! Sheesh some nights it felt as if we had the whole building to ourselves.

Building 7. Parking lot side. Same room friends stayed in two years ago, we had adjoining room then. I guess It's A Small World After All!!

Thanks everyone! It does sound like there really are no bad locations. I'm clearly overthinking this! Haha!!

Are the fridges (when they are in the rooms) big enough to hold a gallon of milk? I am trying to remember what we bought last time and I simply can't. I don't know if we bought a half gallon or a gallon.

Here is a photo of my frig at POFQ - taken today (guessing this Magic Chef frig is one of the new ones). Gallon of milk and two 2 liter bottles of soda are visible. (First time posting a photo link - hoping it works.)

I have an 8:30 breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Will I be able to get there from POFQ using the buses/monorail that early? I think the buses run early but maybe not the monorail? Suggestions for best way to get there?

DH and I will be arriving at POFQ 9-2. Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! I have a few ?s. we booked a garden view- would a request via fax for a corner room get us a King? Or should I ask if an upgrade to King is available? Also, how much do you normally tip housekeeping. What transportation is best to Contemporary and Ft. Wilderness (Hoop Dee Doo Revue)? Should I take a taxi both ways? Also, is sending the fax on Wednesday 8-28 reasonable? Thanks in advance!

Amanda999, thanks for the pic of the fridge!

Glad to be of help! Disboards and Andre via his website is how I learned everything, and our vacations are so much more relaxing due to our ability to plan ahead (or, know what I'm in for!). And thanks for telling me it worked!

FYI to those with kids who love the campfire (marshmallow roast) at our PO resorts as much as I do: POR's campfire as of yesterday is "down" for refurbishment. Seriously. They are golf carting people to POFQ's campfire. And, POFQ has moved their campfire from the river view lawn area to a newly built firepit at the lawn area where they set up the movie. No benches surrounding the area like at the old area or like at POR. And, they are requiring parent presence if child is under 12 (understandable, but I often sent my kids off alone).

Yeah, you should be OK. The monorail and the resort ferries will be running early enough for you. I'd allow 1.5 hours just to be on the safe side though.

There are non-King corner rooms too, so if you want to ask for an upgrade then you'd need to ask if there happen to be any king/corner rooms available, could they upgrade you. Maybe offer to pay the difference, so they know you are not just asking to get something for nothing? And definitely mention your wedding anniversary in your fax.

Housekeeping - I tip $1/night per occupant.

Contemporary and Fort Wilderness - get the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then it's a very short walk to the Contemporary, or get a ferry boat for Fort Wilderness. Or as you say, taxi is another option.

Yes, send any faxes about 3-5 days before arrival (they won't do pixie dust room-category changes more than 5 days out, just in case more bookings might still come in I guess).

This + 1. ::yes::

I'll be at POFQ from 9/27-10/2 and I'm looking at this as probably my last chance to enjoy things as they are, no magicbands! I'm sure we will have to use them for our trip next August.

I felt the same way too but knowing we won't be back for 4-5 years I started to get excited about trying the MB. Doesn't appear FQ will have MB when we arrive on October 19 so at least nothing new to learn!

To get to Ft. Wilderness I would recommend taking the bus to Magic Kingdom then hopping the ferry boat over to FW. It's super easy, you get off the bus at the MK, walk towards the entrance of MK and the ferryboats are right there. Beautiful ride on the boat.

At least all of the details and kinks should be worked out by the time your next visit comes around. :goodvibes

hello everyone. I've been reading here for a while now and really excited about our upcoming trip (1 week!).

I have a question about online check in - it asks me what is my time of arrival and departure - we land 13:30 and depart 11:45 from MCO. What times of arrival/leaving the resort should I write?

Thanks :)

I put in 90 mins after the flight lands on arrival and 3 hours before the departure. DME will set your time to leave the resort for 3 hours.
