Oh the places We Go, The People We see

Sorry Jen, How horrible!! That is a phone call every parent fears....

Prayers for Paige and the others and their families during this difficult time.

Sending prayers and thinking of you Jen!! Hoping for a speedy recovery for Paige so you can get her home and healed!

Oh Jen, a Mother's worst nightmare :(
I feel so sorry for the family of the driver.
Definitely thinking of you all :grouphug:

Thanks for the prayers everyone.

Paige was downgraded yesterday out of ICU to the next level of room, so that is a good sign. She was allowed to eat, which is another good sign. That means the spleen is starting to heal and they aren't worried about rushing her off to surgery. But eating hurts as it goes down, so she has eaten very little. The took neck x-rays last night and hopefully this morning they can completely rule out any major neck injuries and she can take the neck brace off, which she hates. But she still has a lot of pain in her neck. She might get to stand up on Thursday, if not Friday and then we see how it goes from there. If all goes well she can come home Friday or Sat. She lives with her Dad currently, but she will come home with us as I am home all day to take care of her and we can set her up on the couch. (though Skip wasn't impressed with that idea as he takes his daily nap there. LOL)

Ashley visited Paige yesterday. We let them have some alone time and my sisters and I went with her Mom and sister out to the waiting area and talked...and had a few tears too.

From what they tell us, Ashely was texting on her phone in the back seat and wasn't even paying attention to what was going on. She said when they started to flip she covered her head. After it stopped, she checked herself for cuts and still had her phone in hand and then called 911. She said she got out and found Aaron, the boy with head injuries and she got so scared and didn't know what to do because he was so bloody. She called a friend and asked what to do and he said to just wait till rescue got there.

She said she went back to the other side of the truck and waited and she could hear Paige moaning in the distance, but was afraid to go find her in the dark. She said rescue got there super fast and they wento Aaron first and said he was really bad and got him going and she saw lifeflight come for him.

They took her to the patrol car for a statement. She said she saw them put Paige on a stretcher and that it appeared they were talking to her and she was responding. She has no idea where they took her, but we were told a 2nd lifeflight came and took her to the hospital too.

She said as she was giving her statement she heard over the radio a call for the coronor so she was pretty sure that was for Nate, but she didn't ask and they never told her. She never got it confirmed till later in the day when she asked.

They were going to take her to a Toledo hospital but she told them she wasn't hurt, so they just took her to the county one. She didn't call her parents by choice. I guess she was scared, and her Mom gave her a dirty look when we talked about that. Paiges dad was the one who told them when he kept calling in the morning to try to get info on her for Paige.

Her story is pretty much like Paiges on how the night went, only Paige thought it was much later. The actual 911 call was made at 1:55 AM. Paige thought it was around 2:30 or 3.

Ashley said she was scared but was pretty calm till the rescue got there and then she started to freak. They have her on anxiety meds right now. I can only imagine how everything is replaying in her head over and over.

It does sound like some neighboring houses heard the crash and people arrived after rescue, so if Ashly had not called, someone would've about 10 minutes or so later. But those 10 minutes could've meant Aarons life. I guess the accident was down the road from Aarons house and his parents are some of the people who came to the scene.

We hear they have put him in an induced coma and he must've been conscious at one point because they told him they were going to do that and he gave a thumbs up. I hear different reports from people, but it sounds like he will make it and he may have some brain damge, but that won't be known for a while. They just need to watch any swelling of the brain right now and keep him stable.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

OMG Jen. That sounds like a horrible accident. I am reading from my phone and can't see well w/o my glasses so I need to read the details better. So glad that Paige is stable and Ashley is good. I have to retread about the other details. Thoughts and prayers with you and everyone's families.

I am glad to hear the girls are doing better, and continue to pray for them, the young man in the hospital and the young man that lost his life. (((Hugs)))

Oh my gosh Jen! My thoughts and prayers are with your family and Paige and her friends right now! She really did have an angel on her shoulder at the time. I know it is none of my business, but when I had my accident in 06 I had severe PTSD as a result, I would have panic attacks while driving. I ended up seeing a therapist after and it really made a world of a difference in my anxiety while driving. So it may help to look into this. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

OMG Jen, that sounds horrible! I am so glad that Paige will be ok. Hopefully she will be able to come home soon. I am definitely praying for her and her friends.

My eyes just filled with tears reading that. This is so, so horrible. I'm very glad that Paige is getting out of it relatively unharmed. I was already a big believer in always wearing a seat belt, but this just reinforced it. Thinking of you and Paige.

So sad about what happened. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope she gets better and gets to go home soon.

Jen - I just read your entire update on Paige. Again I want to say how sorry I am that you are going through this and I pray Paige makes a speedy recovery. Broken ribs and a chest tube for a collapsed lung are very painful. Broken ribs hurt for a long time.

I hope that you will continue to update us. I am very sorry for the tragic loss of life in this accident. What you described is literally my worse fear and the reason I never turn off my cell phone at night.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the other families at this difficult time.

Jen I am so sorry to hear about the accident! I'm crying while I'm reading this. I'm glad Paige doesn't have to have surgery and that they think she might come home this weekend. Paige definitely has my prayers. I will pray for Aaron too.

I know I have never posted on your TR before but I have been reading it and just had to post to add that I will keep your daughter and her friends in my prayers. Also all the families that were effected by that crash.

You and your family are in my prayers. I can't even imagine how scary and sad it is for your daughter to go through. No matter how much they grow up, they are always our babies. :grouphug:

Nice pool pics.
The Raifiki pic is funny.

I am so sorry to hear about the accident. That is so sad.
Will be thinking of you all.

Love the pics! I can't wait until LM comes out on DVD in October. I've always seemed to miss the releases!

Yes, they do look like fries! Where's the ketchup?

Just curious - how many autograph books has Claire filled with signatures from Disney so far? Do you think you have all autographs at least once yet? I was in front of a couple once that had been at the parks for 3 weeks straight - and they had a school age kid with them. It would have been March. They were on their 3rd book, and were trying hard to find Jiminy Cricket. They said he was among the hardest...

I couldn't imagine being away from home for that long, the $$ spent, nor working so hard just for Disney autographs! :rotfl2: I like Disney, but not that much!

We have a couple of books. It's not always a priority for her to have them ,but she likes to get them if we are meeting a character. On our first trip with Claire one of the first characters we went to meet was Jiminy. but I now he's hard to find now.
I would love to stay that long, but I know it's not for everyone.

You know me.... I always like to see the princess photos. :goodvibes

Glad the line was short, but that does stink that Rapunzel wasn't there.

We did get to see her later though.

That Big Blue pool looks fun, you got some nice pics of the area.

Great pics with the Cindy and Aurora.

The pool is nice.
