Next in yesterday was an update from Disneyland sent to us by Brenda (emmysmommy).


Grand Californian Room Service





She said, "Last night we ordered room service from the Late Night Menu at the hotel since we hadn't eaten since 2:30."






"Em had the 1/2 lb. chargrilled burger with cheddar and guacamole. She liked it, although a kid portion would have been perfect. It came with a huge pile of fries and those adorable mini bottles of ketchup."






"I had the chicken quesadilla with guacamole and fresh salsa from the appetizer options on the menu. It was perfect with the generous addition of Anaheim chilies."





"We couldn't decide on a dessert to split so we ordered our own!"





"Emily had the brownie. She liked it but it was very decadent so she was only able to eat 1/2."




"I tried the Peach Cobbler..."





"Let's just say that "cobbler" is a stretch! It wasn't that great no matter what it was and after only one bite it was put out on the hall with all of the other room service dishes."





"Both were served with a side of ice cream."



"It was a nice late night dining experience."


Brenda added, "Yesterday was Blue Bayou for lunch but it was too dark for most food photos. We ate at Storyteller's Cafe this morning, which was just ok. I really need to take Linda's advice and go to Napa Rose."

She said, "Today was supposed to be a pool day, but it was too cloudy. No worries, we headed to Hollywood Studios. It was packed and the only lunch reservation we could snag was..."

"Anna got an iced tea and Ellie chose an enormous cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll must have been tasty because she ate the entire thing!"

"We already ate here this trip, but it was pretty good the first time and we were happy to go again. The only downfall is we are scheduled to have Italian again this evening. Oh well, we'll survive."






"I chose the Penne alla Vodka with Chicken. They made it with gluten free macaroni. It was quite good."







"The girls just chose the allergy pasta with meat sauce again."

This was a two-part update from Epcot, with part one from...









She said, "We weren't hungry enough for a full meal last night so we cancelled our Dinner ADR at Nine Dragons and feasted at Kringla Bakery in Norway."
















"We split the toasted Club sandwich..."




"It was toasted perfectly, the cheese was melted and the bacon on the sandwich was real thick bacon. So good!"



And an inside look...










"I had a side salad and my daughter also had a cinnamon roll. I had an iced vanilla coffee. It was great."













Then part two was a snack update from France's...











"My daughter wanted to have a chocolate/vanilla swirl ice cream cone from the crepe/ice cream stand in France. This ice cream is so smooth and creamy. The best soft serve I've ever tasted. The cone was fabulous as well. We want to try the new ice cream shop in France but the line has been out the door."

"Chase chose the Kobe beef burger. He decided he didn't like the shiitake mushroom compote, but everything else on this plate was gone when he was done."






"Brian and I decided to split the Bourbon Chicken with the jasmine rice. Even though the dish was cooked perfectly, I wished I would have ordered something else. Bourbon was the only flavor I was tasting."




"And here's Briana's Chicken with fries..."



"This Kids meal was a hit with her. She ate almost all of it, with chopsticks no less!"



"I'm not sure if this is new info since we hadn't been to Yak and Yeti for awhile, but our server told us we could only get a 10% discount on the adult entrees with our AP. I was thinking in the past the discount was off the whole bill. So we will be heading back to Yak and Yeti I'm sure. We had excellent service and the food's the best TS at AK. Just wish they took the TIW card."

She said, "We split an order of the honey chicken..."




"It's served with broccoli, carrots and rice. Hard to see, its all layered with chicken on top. The box was heavy and huge."


"We also split an order of egg rolls."








"The food was hot, fresh and really delicious. It's our first time eating at this QS, we always eat at the table service version. The honey chicken tasted exactly like what we've had inside. The egg rolls did also. The only thing I missed eating outside was not having the cream cheese wontons. The seating area was really pretty. We sat next to the fountain. We'd eat here again!"

Napa Rose


She said, "Michael and I had our anniversary dinner last night at Napa Rose. It was absolutely perfect. We were welcomed and seated near the "meadow window", with a beautiful view of the CA Adventure park's wooded landscape outside."


"I started with a Bloody Mary and the basket of bread and rolls. (No photo of the Bloody Mary)."








"For starters we shared the Buffalo Carpaccio, which was light and lovely."








"For mains I had the braised beef short ribs with blackberries and fingerling potatoes."



"It was delicious!! Michael had some of my entree and thought is was a bit fatty but perhaps I only ate the sweet spot and left the fatty part for him... It was good though."




"And with dinner I had a Sonoma Cabernet that was very nicely paired with my meal!"






"For dessert we had the dark chocolate truffle cake with amaretto ice cream."

"I ordered the clams with a white wine and garlic sauce. The flavor was good, but the clams were very gritty."

"She loved it! She ate it in seconds and even ordered a second helping!"





"I ordered the seafood risotto (no pic sent). Unfortunately, it had no flavor at all. I was really disappointed with my meal overall."

We were at Il Mulino a few weeks ago. I had a pasta that tasted like uncooked dough. Very disappointed. I live in New York and there are 2 Il Mulino's, both are excellent. Going to take this off my restaurant list. Maybe sometime in the future I will give it another try. Better off staying with other signature restaurants that I have not been disappointed in.

We also were disappointed with Il Mulino when we tried it last year. The food was basic, uninteresting, and overpriced. I'm honestly surprised that so many people rank Il Mulino as the best Italian spot on property, since we've had higher quality and more interesting dishes at all three Italian locations in Epcot.
