Now for our First Update of the Day sent to us by a new reporter who arrived at Disney World yesterday, frankieeyre.


She said, "So we arrived in Orlando from London Gatwick (not so smoothly but we are here!)"



"Checked into the Poly and I am absolutely amazed! So pretty!!"









Then their first Disney meal was at the Polynesian's...

"Kona Cafe for dinner which was my first time there!"





"LOVED the bread! That butter is awesome!"



"I got the steak which was delicious, loved the sauce!"







Grilled Lamb Chops with roasted root vegetables, swiss chard, and mango chutney

"Parents both got the lamb chops which they loved."



"And my sister got the chicken noodles..."



Pan Asian Noodles with Yakisoba noodles, wok-seared vegetables and Chicken in ginger-garlic sauce


"Everyone loved their dinner but as we were so jet lagged and tired it was tough to eat them."






"I got the Kona Kone for dessert! Loved the candy floss!"

She and her DDs had breakfast this morning at the Polynesian's...





She said, "We are sitting in Ohana having a great breakfast. This is the best breakfast for allergy families since it is served family style and not buffet."

"They didn't have hot chocolate out at first. My DD was looking forward to having some so I asked and poof! They brought a bowl of hot cocoa packets."

Next in this morning were the missing updates from Melissa (sock2you). These were from her trip to Disneyland last week.


The first one was from their dinner at California Adventure's...















"I chose the Grilled Chicken Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing."





"DH and BIL2 had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. DSIL2 had the Bacon Blue Cheese Burger (behind the boys chicken). She added BBQ sauce and an onion ring to the top."





"SIL1 had the Kids Cheeseburger Meal."





"Everyone else had regular Cheeseburgers with French Fries or Onion Rings."





"We also had two orders of Chili Cheese Fries."

"This is all you can eat ribs, chicken, smoked sausage, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread and wagon wheels (corn on the cob)."






























"The winners of this meal were the ribs and wagon wheels. DD ate about half the pot of baked beans all by herself."






"Dessert was extra and the bottom three took 30 minutes to make."

We SEARCHED for this and finally found it right next to the American adventure at the stand that sells the jalapeño cheese pretzels. You get a lot and it really stands up to the heat lol. We actually went and did the American adventure, left it on the stroller and it was still frozen!

PERFECT! Thank you so much. Actually my son thanks you so much. Good to know it holds up in the heat.

"My first plate starting from bottom left: breakfast pizza, chilaquiles, breakfast potatoes, tomato avocado salad and baked French toast with Caramelized bananas."


"My second plate was more avocado salad, baked French toast and some fresh fruit. As you can see the salad and French toast were my favorites."





"This is DD's food, she also had some eggs and bacon."


"This was our first character breakfast and we were sadly disappointed in the character interaction. We were a group of 9 and so were sat in the back room. We were there for an hour and a half and saw only 3 out of the 5 characters, one of which was Mickey who you get your picture taken with at the beginning, he does not walk around. I had gone up and spoken with the restaurant lead and after waiting another half hour with no characters we had to leave as we still had to finish packing and check out."

"This was supposed to be our last hurrah before everyone had to go home and it turned into a dud. I was so excited for this meal as I'd heard so many great things about it. And while the front room got tons of interaction the back was ignored. I felt bad for the other tables there with us as they'd only seen one character in an hour and for $300 for all of us it just wasn't worth it."



"The character interaction we did get was great."

"DD had a sugar cookie made to look like Mickey Mouse. I had the Mickey Mouse crispy treat."

"We had a little two top table in the main room. I love the glass flowers."









"We were only given bread and none of the delicious olives. I asked for some but they were never given to us or any olive oil. Not the best service we have had here but they were packed with it being evening EMH."



"I had the Polenta with fontina cheese..."



"It is usually served with meatballs and short ribs but I subbed for all meatballs."









"My daughter ordered the Fettucine without the pancetta..."



"It was wonderful."








"For dessert I chose the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake with marinated strawberries..."







"My daughter had her favorite Tiramisu..."



"She thinks this is the best one she's ever had."

She said, "I finally stopped at Starbucks! I ordered a grande frappuccino with no whip cream, but got a frap with extra whip cream. Oh well, it's vacation."

"We had a BOG fastpass for lunch. The system is very fast, shockingly so. That's the good part, the bad part is committing to a specific menu days in advance."





"The girls and I all chose the braised pork. However, after spending the morning in the hot sun, I couldn't stomach it. The girls enjoyed it, however."
